Geralt of Rivia
Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16819115229 This is the processor I'm planning to get, but I'm not the best with computer hardware, so I have no idea what kind of motherboard is compatible with it. I want it to be a good mobo, but would rather not go over $300 if possible. Any recommendations? **Edit: I'm also getting this case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16811119197 And it says Motherboard Compatibility: ATX, Micro ATX. So I guess that means I need an ATX Mobo that's compatible with the above Processor. Just a heads up Edited March 19, 2013 by Masterfocker
Stinky12
Not really recommendations, just some suggested motherboards that within your price limit. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813131804 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813128562 Extended ATX, you'll need a case that fits Extended ATX if you want this board. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813128531 Edited March 19, 2013 by Stinky12
yoječ
Why do you even consider i7-3820? I can't see any reason to buy it.
Geralt of Rivia
Why do you even consider i7-3820? I can't see any reason to buy it. Oh, I'm not buying this. I'm trying to prove to my dad that Alienware is VERY overpriced (He doesn't believe me), so I'm taking one of their builds and replicating it with individual parts. Unfortunately, they don't say the Mobo, so I had to ask for one. $700 saved, because I added like $100 in Mice and Keyboards, and added a GTX 680. Should prove him wrong
yoječ
Should prove him even wronger if you went for i7-3770k instead. It's a bit faster than the i7-3820, consumes less power, and to top it all off LGA1155 motherboards are significantly cheaper than LGA2011.
