Travís.
I like the idea of duct tape being an item. You get close to someone, press a button and your character will quickly wrap tape over their mouth, hands, and feet and then you can pick them up and carry them and/or put them in a trunk or back of a pickup truck. I think it needs to be an item, because the characters aren't going to be carrying rope, cable, zip ties, or duct tape on them at all times. there's going to be so many other civilians around though, and it would easily be seen. universetwisters
That was the Red Dead universe. So guns won't be in V anymore, since they were in the Red Dead universe? What about the ability to walk, will that be taken away from us?

I expect to have a selection on my weapons wheel for sisal rope, poly rope, steel cable, fishline, cable ties, duct tape, bungie cords, taser, pepper spray, garrote, chloroform, shuriken, stun gun, cattle prod, handshake buzzer, rubber chicken and Vulcan death grip. TheIllaDopest
maybe you have to buy it (zip ties or rope) at the shop along with some duct tape. then we have a formula for success.
JaggySnake
hogtying is just what they used in Redemption. I don't think people mean it'll be in V. Just the ability to restrain people and kidnap them. We could use handcuffs, tape, zip ties, rope...who knows. There's no reason why they can't add it to V if they managed it in Redemption. Extra fun! You find your target, stalk them, and then wait until they are alone so you can kidnap them.
cmn1516
handcuffing maybe? I would also like to put people in my trunk and drown them ha love how you so casually say this.
blakeney
Why do you guys think there will be hogtying in V. That was the Red Dead universe. Its not an era/universe thing that makes ppl think it... its the fact that like most other companies... they share code from game to game.... R* as especially known for this (see the car list from mp3..), it would be missing a trick if they don't implement parts of the hog tie code into V, especially seeing as they had some kinda code for putting things in the boot/trunk in SA but for what ever reason removed it. ivarr
Zipcuffs would be the best way to go in my opinion. Having a lasso would be weird, but just being able to cuff someone, dragging people who are cuffed and stuffing them in a trunk would be awesome and give great value to the gameplay. Kidnapping fantasies ahoy!
GarrowsKai
I think a Taser/Handcuff combination would be a good update for the lasso/hogtie. Would just increase what could be done with missions and also bring about the possibility of the vigilante missions have a 'bounty-hunter' twist to them, just like in RDR where you could take them alive or just kill them. saintsrow
This thread is reminding me of Call of Juarez: The Cartel, where they tried to sequel-ize an old west game to modern day Los Angeles. I think we are kind of mixing concepts here with hogtying. Tazering and zip-tying is the modern way, as others mentioned above.
TaazR
If they don't implement some form of kidnapping I'd be very disappointed. The possibilities are endless. Just imagine playing as Trevor, putting a hooker in your trunk, then pouring petrol on the car and setting it ablaze!
Patrizio
@ saintrows and taazr Exactly. Rockstar really should NOT miss this opportunity. The ability to drag corpses has been in the Hitman games for years, and ability to dump bodies since Blood Money. I am well aware that that is a different game/engine/developer, but it is something that will add much, MUCH re-playability and roleplaying.
