KawakSallas
Compared to GTA III, the Liberty City on IV is a whole new city. Only the name of the airport is the same. How much Los Santos will change from his 2004 GTA San Andreas debut? Something like Liberty City on IV, or keeping some landmarks, just for the old memories? Travís.
Unfortunately the change will be as big, if not bigger then III to IV.
Petsevsky
Sure, expect something whole new compared to Los Santos from GTA: San Andreas. Of course the most notable landmarks will make a return such as the Vinewood sign. Anyways, I hope that Grove Street returns!

trevors685
I think it'll keep some old landmarks just for the sake of being recognized as Los Santos. And as we can see, Los Santos seems to have tripled it's size, and it takes 20+ years to build a skyscraper. Ash_735
BELIEVE IT OR NOT, LA still has a ghetto. and f*ck grove street? Busta! Yes, it still has ghettos, where Black is being pushed out and Hispanics are taking over, come on man, this is modern day LA, not your Early-90s wet dream that San Andreas fanboys can't let go of. LA Crime is much more interesting now with many different areas, why stick to another sh*tty ghetto hiood dawg YO CJ story when there's just soo much out there? Also, calling me a Busta? ...I'm fine with that, I've never really repped any "hood" so me turning my back on it doesn't make a blind bit of difference to me! YO YO DAWGS, LS REPPIN, STREET POPPIN THUG NIGGAS, ENTIRE GAME BE LIKE THIS YO, HOLLA AT YOUR BOYZ, WE NEVER LEFT 1994! Compared to something say akin to Crank, Collateral, Heat, etc, I know which one I'd rather see, not saying there can't be any ghettos in the game, that would be unrealistic, but the story doesn't have to revolve around that sh*t again. Im from L.A., im black, and im from the neighborhood. Some of what you say is truth.. Bit not in every hood out here. Its still on and craccin out here just less publicity. Also just know that there are many walks of life here in the land... And that "busta homie" talk that you are sarcastically speaking is still prevalent in many hoods. 3 protags! Боже мой, dude, the mere presence of Grove Street in the game DOESN'T NECESSARILY MEANS that the WHOLE PLOT revolves about OGF vs. Ballas, goddamit! I'll be very surprised if they include a recreation of Grove St. There pretty much wasn't anything recognizable from GTA III in GTA IV.

GrandMaster Smith
Someone should post some screenshot comparisons of SA and V's Los Santos to get an idea of what to expect. From the image on the first page it looks ALOT larger, and I feel even SA's LS was pretty decently sized.
Dick Justice
I personally think the change will be less drastic than the III to IV change of Liberty City. In GTA III, Liberty City didn't really scream New York, it was more an amalgamation of cities on the East Coast of America - it could have been New York, but it could have been Philly, Pittsburgh, Boston, Baltimore as well. Los Santos in San Andreas was a direct recreation of LA, which is the same as Los Santos in V, therefore, it'd be weird to not see similarities between the two versions, despite them being in different universes. As for the whole Grove St debate, I highly doubt it will appear. That's not to say there won't be some random cul de sac out there in the hood that San Andreas fanboys latch onto because it's aesthetically the same. I don't think any inclusion will be intentional. JaggySnake
Grove St might be in the game but it won't be recognisable. It's been 9 years since SA came out but the game was set in 1994. V is set in 2013. 19 years is a long time. A lot will have changed. Los Santos already resembles Los Santos from SA. It's obviously going to be much bigger and lense densely packed together. As for the surrounding areas, there will be no seperate islands or roads going to San Fierro/Las Venturas. The entire country side will be blown up in size. i'd guess you can fit the entire los santos city into the countryside x2 maybe x3 (thats not including interiors/ocean area)
lloydo
If it's anything like GTAIV was to III then it'll be completely different. Keeping in line with the whole new generation thing.
Remi749
It certainly will be completely different, only famous landmarks, such as the vinewood sign and the "Pleasure pier", but at a whole different size.

I think that this is very true. I think V's Los Santos will be quite different (especially within the city. The overall layout is a bit different, too, like the sign and observatory being in more correct locations, but will be more or less the same, relatively. However, it will be a completely different story on street level, exploring the city from within), but the transition from III to IV isn't really a basis for comparison in terms of the city, because Liberty City in III was only partially based on New York while IV's Liberty City was completely based on it. In the case of Los Santos, it has always been based solely on Los Angeles, so more similarities should be expected. The surrounding areas do seem about as different as you can get, though, particularly with the inclusion of the area based on the Salton Sea region, and it being placed north of Los Santos (at least that's what the Mapping Los Santos people seem to think) despite the real place being pretty far south of Los Angeles, leading to a completely different kind of location and vibe than you'd see anywhere in GTA: SA, because nothing south of Los Angeles was represented in SA.
