saintsrow
How about an art heist in GTAV? It would be something new compared to the same-old same-old cash, diamonds, drugs heists that are so well-worn in GTA games. Here's a real-world example: Boston Art Heist As far as crimes go, the heist itself was a work of art. On March 18, 1990, two men in police uniforms talked their way into the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, where they tied up the security guards. After disabling the security cameras, they proceeded to make off with 13 works valued at $500 million. Anyway, this got me thinking that an art heist would be a little bit more upscale than traditional robberies and would provide a reason to model the LA County art museums (and art museums are great subjects for virtual worlds) while giving Rockstar an opportunity to poke some fun at pretentious modern art in LA. LA Country Museum of Art Geffen Contemporary at MOCA GTA IV had an art museum, but it was just used for a diamond exchange shootout. I'd actually like to be able to browse the Los Santos Museum of Art in free roam and enjoy the experience.
Travís.
I couldn't read your topic after reading your username. Jks, but that sounds like a good idea.
XxPhillies26xX
Great topic Its a possibility that R* could have implemented this in the final version GTA V. I never thought of this but R* has definitely put something fresh and exciting in heist. I'm calling it now that your prediction is right. Despite the username You do a great job posting your thoughts on the forums. Whenever I scroll down on a topic and I see your username in a topic I'm always curious to see what you put in response. Because I know you will always put something very interesting and creative in response to a topic and one thing I must note is everything is always well typed. I respect that you been on the forums for a while and its fun to see a GTA fan that has the same interest as you. Its sad but These are the only people I can talk to about GTA. A lot of people wont understand what you are coming from. This website allows me to really discuss something I'm interested in. THANK YOU GTA FANS AND THE FORUMS ! keep up the good work Saintsrow. Jvmes
This is really fascinating. The first thing that comes to mind funnily enough is the Mr Bean movie where he accidentally wrecks Whistler's Mother and also the 'cat burglar' episode of The Simpsons. An art heist would throw up a good range of possibilities for preparation too: Maybe apply pressure to a curator, stalk a security guard, kidnap a forger to make you a replacement, visit the museum to scope it out as a tourist, sell the painting on but the sale goes wrong. I love these hypothetical topics. Nice work. Kudos to the poster above me too. Good to see somebody not spouting abuse.
Johan
This is actually an amazing idea saintsrow, I have never thought of that.. whenever we hear the word heist we usually think of a bank but this is just brilliant. I seriously hope they do add a art heist as one of the missions, it's unique.
saintsrow
I should have looked more closely at the The Diffrent Types of Heists topic. It's a more general place to collect the ideas. gsbadreligion posted in that topic a list which actually did include art heists among many other ideas. Elothel
I love the idea. The most tricky part though would probably be finding a buyer. I wonder how that would be implemented?
Graven
Great idea! One can imagine the paintings with rockstar humor.
BKALLDAY
I don't want to steal art. Well, I guess I do but stealing antique weapons would be a better fit. Volcano pistol a la RDR.
