Travís.
I have been wondering if R* should even bother with the over detailed ocean floor, I mean once I see it, I probably won't want to see it again. unless there's something really interesting down there, but I doubt it. will you be spending much time down there? GrandMaster Smith
I don't really see why they would spend the time to detail all that out if they Didn't make it interesting.. Of course there's going to be something to draw the players in to the ocean and to explore the floors, otherwise I don't think they would've bothered with putting in so much effort in the first place.. Underwater caves, sunken ships, coral reefs, marine life, vast canyons.. The ocean is an extremely fascinating place, the only limitation would be R*'s imagination and the current hardware. Fair point, but it doesn't mean that it should be removed for everyone else. That's not fair to people who are interested in the sea floor. Like me. ChocoFrosty
I probably won't have time for the ocean floor. That's the best scenario I could hope for. I hope there's enough to explore on land that I completely forget about the underwater part. And then when I remember, it will feel like a huge bonus. But you and millions of others have been to Chillad, the desert, and Los Santos in GTA. The ocean is a new frontier for Grand Theft Auto. Did you know that there was an actual fault line in the ocean in San Andreas? It's going to be great. We get the city, the country, the desert, the sky, and now the ocean. Jvmes
It's an exciting new frontier for sure but your freedom is inherently limited underwater and just how sophisticated will underwater physics and mobility be? What weapons can we use? Will there be fighting underwater? How realistic will the underwater animals be? There are only so many wrecks and caves you can put down there. If nothing above land has been sacrificed then brilliant I unequivocally welcome this move but if it has? It's disgraceful. What people have to remember is just how poor GTA IV was in some areas - areas that Rockstar had been working on for over a decade. With the exception of San Andreas (which was simply swimming beneath water) do you think they will have been able to develop this system to such an extent that it doesn't feel glaringly out of place with the rest of the game? I bet you're the same people who made fun of Whitney Houston and Amy Winehouse when they died. Yet when it comes to Ryan Dunn or maybe Mitch Lucker, the tables are turned. He died by drinking while under the influence, going over 100 mph, and killing two of his friends at the same time. I love Jackass, Viva La Bam, and even Homewrecker, but to mourn and give empathy to the almost three year death that was caused by partying, irresponsibility, recklessness, and alcohol that led to two others being killed is sort of nonsense. tldr; just because you're famous doesn't mean you're forgivable when it comes to killing three people, including yourself while drunk and with a lead foot
Joseph Cooke
I'm interested as to see what underwater life will be there to view/interact with. Having said that, I don't have any knowledge on California's sea animals, would I be right in saying it includes those nasty-ass Humboldt Squids? Honest Bill
I can't really think of too many ways they could make the sea floor interesting to be honest. The only thing i can think of is if they have missions, such as some smuggling ring pays you to retreive anything they had to dump over the side when they got stopped by customs, so you have to go and find it. Or a 'treasure' type situation where you find out information piece by piece of a heist that went down many years ago, and for some convoluted reason, had to stash it in several different underwater locations. They could start you off with subtle clues, and you would have to follow up and piece things together yourself in order to find it. Maybe an archaeologist/graverobber hires you to loot some underwater sites before the national trust or whatever amusing name for historical conservationists you can think of, get there and start their excavations. Perhaps some of the 'loot' you found would appear at your safehouse. That would be pretty cool. Can't think of too many other uses though.

RedShotBR
Well, I doubt that they'll enphase something that much to have nothing down there. I'm not sure if that's just me, but the only reason I didn't explored the oceanfloor in SA was because of CJ's breath bar. Now that we have a submarine, a richly detailed ocean and (probably) an interactive ecosystem (sharks, dolphins and corals), I can think of some good easter eggs and/or achievements related to the sea in general. PutAQuarterIn
I plan on harpooning (provided there's a harpoon gun) anything that moves, or exploring caves, ship wrecks ect. It will be a good place to try and lose the cops too. I say it has as much potential as the countryside, which we know after RDR will be good.
