Finn 7 five 11
Just going to be replaced by some other fat-cat who does the exact same thing, changes of head on these big companies rarely change much,
Chunkyman
As someone who hates EA as it stands now, I'm glad to see him go. I do hope they replace him with someone good, though. It's hard to say whether his replacement will be any better. Edited March 18, 2013 by Chunkyman

The Killa
Interesting. I wonder why he chose to leave now. Is it due to or partly due to the video that's been going around? What video? The microtransaction one? I think it's a handful of reasons honestly. Over his watch, EA has become one of the most hated companies in America. The unpopularity of their DLC, always-on DRM, micro transactions in every game, the company itself is barely turning a profit. SWTOR flopped, the Sim City fiasco, disgusting customer support, and so on. Part of me hopes this is the turning of a new leaf. Though EA are so far down right now, it seems the only way is up. Right? I f*cking hope so. Edited March 19, 2013 by The Killa
Creed Bratton
He released a statement explaining why he resigned. http://www.ea.com/news/from-john It's probably not the whole story. That's gonna be in the DLC.
Adler
The unpopularity of DLC I don't think DLC's are too unpopular. The larger scale ones, that is, such as EFLC and usually Assassin's Creed DLC's. I think the only times content shouldn't be DLCs is when it's an integral part of the story. It would be criminal to charge extra for the full story. Extra content for extra charge I'm fine with. But yeah always-on and micro-transactions are bullsh*t.
KorinC
EFLC wasn't DLC, that's expansion pack--big difference.
Moth
EFLC wasn't DLC, that's expansion pack--big difference. No there is no difference between an expansion and DLC. DLC stands for downloadable content, and expansion can be download thus becoming DLC. The Lost and the Damned and the Ballad of Gay Tony are dlc when bought seperately. When bought as EFLC, they become a standalone game. Formerly known as The General

EFLC is in an entirely different league than EA's DLC, mostly due in part it being day 1 DLC, or cutting content for a selling profit later on. I see so you were referring to EA's practices in particular. I thought you meant that DLC's in general were unpopular.
