Travís.
Now, in the past games, Civilians have not been very realistic, hopefully GTA V Changes that. I mean, if you bump someone, they shouldn't just run away, or want to fight? like if you bump a civilian and they drop something valuable, then they could, throw it in rage, or throw it at you and, start raging. or if you point a gun at someone in a car, they shouldn't just stare on ahead. they should duck down for cover, or duck, get out of there car and run, or get there own gun out and try to defend themselves. we should be able to have full on conversations lasting for several minutes. if we're chasing someone and we lose them, we could ask if they have seen them. If we're looking for directions, we could ask. jeez, even the possibility to become friends with a civilian, hell they own a gun store, and you become friends, then you get 20% off guns. I mean i've just touched on a few things, civilians could up the realism by alot. write anything you feel that needs to be added.
GrandMaster Smith
Most of those things were addressed in IV... Euphoria allowed you to realistically bump into people and almost every time the pedestrian would say something like 'Hey watch out!' or whatever. Even when you would aim your gun at someone sitting in a car their facial expressions would change and put their hands up before either running away or driving off. Have you even played GTA IV?? The only thing you can hope for is a hippie guy who uses technology like "clever bot" and you can have crazy conversations with as an easter egg. Or wait 5-15 years until text-to-voice technology and AI are advanced enough to read what you just wrote, think of something and tell it to you in a huge number of voices. For now? "Hey watch out!" is your best bet among more short talks here and there.

I just found that having long conversations [ Anything longer than 30 seconds ] with vaired results is pretty much impossible right now.
ugotsmoked
I wish civilians would attack us like sometimes happens in real life when they see us pull a gun on another person. I have done this myself, anyone else?

GrandMaster Smith
Look at games like Skyrim and Oblivion, you can go and talk to nearly every single NPC but at a very large cost. Voice actors are very expensive so they simply hire a small amount of people to do numerous different characters. The result is a world where every other NPC has the same exact voice made by the same VA, which becomes repetitive for the actor themselves which results in more monotonish/ less enthusiastic acting. I think R* has done an excellent job with making NPC's much more realistic in IV than previous titles. Every NPC has their own voice actor, they have conversations with one another, they have conversations on the phone, different people will react differently to the same situations, sometimes people will get scared, sometimes they'll fight back.. I mean it's pretty ridiculous they went through all that work and did an excellent job just for some kid to say it's not good enough for him because it doesn't feel like real life. Seanacus
i dont understand one thing... If a guy is standing infront of your car, pointing a gun at you, why get out and run? Or if he shoots at you while you're driving, why stop to get out and run?!
ASNAEB
i dont understand one thing... If a guy is standing infront of your car, pointing a gun at you, why get out and run? Or if he shoots at you while you're driving, why stop to get out and run?! I wondered about that too. Everyone would just quickly drive away. The only answer I can imagine is from a gameplay perspective: if you want the car and shoot at it, it might not be fun to always see it just drive away, especially if there are hardly any cars around. Wow, could you please be less of an a**hole? WOW. Hes just saying the NPC's could have been done better. And I agree. In GTA 4 you couldnt even reply to what they said. In SA, i believe you could say stuff to NPC's... In RDR it was possible to say ''Hey'' or ''Howdy!'' to NPC's but you couldnt say anything in GTA
