San Andreas had a sh*tload of Cameos from previous GTA's, and a big ass Map, i just dont get it really...wouldn't rockstar want to duplicate what they did in SA but even Better? it seems like it will be better but something feels left out, seems like to me that The Map will be like Red Dead Redemption,cool but really nothing to look for pretty self explanatory style... just speaking whats on my mind Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The only even half plausible theory I could think of would be that since some of V's artwork shows them robbing a jewelry store, possible the diamonds in IV's story are somehow linked to Michael, Trevor and Franklin.. but being that V's set in the future from IV I don't really see that working. But I think if someone is definitely going to cameo, its patrick mcreary. Honest Bill Posted March 18, 2013 Share Posted March 18, 2013 They have specifically stated that Packie isn't in the game. They said there might be some very minor characters. Could very well be the diamonds included in that. I'm glad they aren't bringing back the characters from IV. Since they said they are taking it in a 'bold new direction' then that's exactly what i expect. I think IV is done and dusted. They explored it enough with the episodes, and i personally wasn't very fond of many of the characters in IV anyway. Not in the same way as i liked the 3 era characters. I actually preferred the cameos in Vice City more than i did the ones in San Andreas. I liked seeing the young Donald Love, and finding out that he got that piece of advice from Carrington about driving real estate prices down. I liked seeing Phil Cassidy in his heyday. But none of the characters in IV were especially memorable to me, except a few of the bad guys who died during the course of the story. I'm glad they're not going the same direction as IV. BullworthAcademy. Posted March 18, 2013 Share Posted March 18, 2013 Even though GTAV isn't going to include other cities like san fran and las vegas doesn't rule out the game won't be big. It's already confirm there will be forests and deserts outside of los santos judging by the media releases which typically mean Palm Springs and maybe up the Bakersfield which are quite frankly big towns outside of los angeles, so that leaves plenty of room for exploration in scenery and character encounters. Not everything needs to be clogged up with cameos! Let this game entertain on its own without having to resort to cheap thrills like "Oh, I remember him from the other game! Cooooooooooooool!!!" Ergh. Niko, Johnny and Luis had their stories, lets tell some new ones shall we? You are not sure about GTA V because we don't have that many info. I hated Bellic in the 1st trailer and the fact that LC is the city. Only to find out NB is my favourite protagonist in the GTA franchise and LC was really a cool city as a playground. And even in the very 1st missions I asked myself if there would be a cameo by former GTA characters. There wasn't one and as the story developed, I haven't missed them. Everyone in GTA IV was so much better designed. And what kind of reputation would it be for GTA V if R* state right away..."Yes Bellic, Luis and Johnny will be there, too." Fans might like that idea, but me, no. GTA V deserves a new cast, new plot, new friends, bosses, etc. No recycling...and if there are cameos, it shall be small ones. So much for that cameo point of yours. And the map and activities will be huge. People might assume GTA V is like GTA IV with better graphics. I beg to differ. Andreas Posted March 18, 2013 Share Posted March 18, 2013 There doesn't have to be anything from past games of the series, as for example characters or cities, to make GTA V the biggest and most ambitious title that Rockstar has created yet. Alone the concept of the eras in the GTA fanchise already tells that characters cannot co-exist in multiple eras which would mean that only characters from GTA IV and the two add-ons to the game, could return in GTA V as all these games are in the HD-era. Even if Rockstar decides to give us an entirely new palette of characters in GTA V, then this is not a bad thing at all. It's better that way in my opinion, however if I remember right then it was confirmed that one character might returns from GTA IV. Thats how rockstar works. gta 3, vice city and san andreas were all part of the same canon (universe), so having cameos is a no brainer. GTA 4 had the same thing with its dlcs which featured its own set of characters per story and featured numerous cameos from the vanilla IV. Gta 5 is a new canon and its starting out fresh, with a brand new story and a game that is not story related to the past games. Also OP, next time post something that's a little bit more relatable. I think GTA IV and GTA V DO have the same universe. R* clearly said that the III-era with Claude, Tommy and CJ is a different one and they will never cross paths with Niko, Luis, Huang or Johnny. Only brand names and certain people do cross these universes, like Lazlow, or having an OG Loc CD in GTA IV...
