I personally found Saints Row 2 brilliant, and to be the best game in the SR series.

 

I'm somewhat hesitant to getting Saints Row IV. Is it worth buying?

 

I was also wondering if Saints Row is going to continue getting crazier and crazier, or if it will return to its more mature roots, like Saints Row 2. Did the developers say anything about where they want to go with this franchise? I haven't been reading too much into it, and some help would be appreciated.

Anyway just completed the game a few hours ago and I'm only missing 2 trophies for the platinum (missing the 40 hours one and the sprinting for 125k miles I believe)

 

This game is completely underrated from what I'm seeing from gamers, review sites are giving the game reasonable scores though. Many great missions that I've been wanting to experience in open world games for years, including a few memorable ones.. I'm sure those that played the game know which one I'm talking about near the middle of the game. I also bought the season pass along with the game and already looking for the extra content since I enjoyed it in Saints Row 3.

Isn't that weapon the "Rectifier"? Once you buy the season pass it gives you that download right away, and I don't think you get to use that weapon until a few missions into the game.

Can you check right now just in case? Go on your PSN and look at your download history, it should be there... if not go to the season pass again and redownload it.

I'm loving this game. Finally did some more story missions last night and they were hilarious. Also did some activities. Some of them are a nice change from the previous instalments of the series. Glad I gave this game a chance.

I know for sure I will, especially since I payed already for these DLCs. Not to mention there are many people who aren't stuck to one game all year, no matter how great V will be I will still be touching other games as well.

I am well beyond that, I am on the mission where all the old gangs are back, no weapon.

Either way I honestly didn't see the point of weapons in this game besides the ones you get later in the game.

Some suggestions to these who wants to be rectified or be able to rectify others:

 

 

I restarted the Steam client and it unlocked correctly after loading my save.

 

 

I didn't get mine, after trying all of that. What I had to do was delete and redownload the game. So if anyone else still can't get the rectifier to unlock, try that as a last resort.

 

 

There aren't any sure fixes for PS3 nor Xbox 360 versions.

oh i am loving this mission with the clones of saints row past default players, never made sense to me why he was black in sr2 but white in 1 and 3 and 4

 

I keep crashing on the load screen after king of stilwater, how can i fix this?

I have to say, Saints Row 4 is ALOT better than I expected, I'll never EVER judge the quality of a game before it's release ever again (I know, I was ignorant and stupid). It offers too large of an amount of gameplay hours to be a DLC. Despite the genre shift to science-fiction, the story is better than Saints Row 3. It has a brilliant sense of humor as well, I've had a good laugh throughout my playthrough especially with throwbacks to previous games. I'm also glad that weak characters like Angel and Zimos are gone, though I sort of miss Oleg. I wasn't really a big fan of Kinsee in Saints Row 3 but she seems more well developed this time around. And the return of Gat was incredibly satisfying, knowing that he was never actually killed on the plane in the first place. My only real complaint with the game is the combat feels a bit repetitive, especially when your health doesn't recharge as much anymore.

 

It is a great game overall though. Not exactly GOTY material and somewhat recycled from Saints Row 3 in some ways. I'm having alot of fun with it and will try to make the most of it before GTA V comes out.

I completed all Secondary Quest, Main Story and got the good ending today.

 

If there will be Saints Row V, I hope they will do the time-travel. Maybe the story would be making the alien invasion never happen or make the Earth never blow up. It could be fun. I just don't want Steelport or Stilwater.

I'm rather keen on playing Saint Row IV in September - since there is amount of interesting comments and feedback on the game in this very thread, so my question is;

 

Is Saint Row IV any better than the last one?

Depends on what aspects you're talking about, story wise I believe SRIV barely won on that against it's prequel but it's definitely a great one for a game like this.

Gameplay wise it's as chaotic as it ever was, I don't think it was worth paying 60$ for but it definitely isn't worth the price of a "DLC" considering it never felt like a DLC the entire ride so those jokes people would bash the game with can rest in peace lol

 

As for the super powers that's preference, I barely used a vehicle in this game which beats the purpose of having them around IMO but it was also bad ass just running through the streets and in the air.

wow! this game is UNEXPECTED BRILLIANT!!!

I mean, the reused Steelport and bullsh*t alien theme are what bothered me in the first place. but f*ck it, the game is just FUN.

funny how the game ripped off the super power mechanic from Prototype and did a better job than Prototype itself, it's sure much more better and enjoyable.

one strong point is the humour. the humour, parody in this game is just f*cking genius and original (this is something SR3 f*cked up). I can't stop laughing in the first few missions, the humour is just... f*cking hilarious!
