i heard good things about this DLC. it won't be enough for me to reinstall though

Under the mountain is decent but it's stupidly easy abd then sky burst is bacially kill about 15 guys in the plane to open the doors then you jump out you find 3 pallets they usually end up on the same 4 roofs, you light a flare, he picks it up you go into a tunnele to escape.

 

I haven't paid for a DLC for the last 6 months greedy pricks can go to hell

Wasn't their excuse for MT is that we will get future dlc for free?

I though the whole Microtransaction were proven to be false?

Microtransaction is as real as it can be with stat boots aswell.

 

I knew they were greedy but that greedy....

They use microtransaction money to make fancy looking websites and trailers. Well I'm not sure if that is really it, but Almir did say something along the lines of ''These things take a lot of people to make.''

My reply to that was on Page 2, with no reply from Almir himself. I guess it's true.

I listened to about 45 minutes of that podcast from the apology thread from around 1 hour 53 minutes in til about the end and he sure is full of himself isn't he?

Community update regarding Stat Boosts and Team Boosts
Hey guys,

We've gotten a lot of feedback from you regarding the Stat Boost and Team Boost functionality and we've been working on an update for that system.

Based on the feedback and recent discussions we've had with our volunteer moderators and community members, we've identified that the function itself isn't necessarily the issue, but rather the fact that it is locked behind a random paywall and that's the only way to get it. With that said, we've decided to keep the Stat and Team Boosts but at the same time make it so that everyone can get them as weapon modifications by just playing and enjoying the game.

On the website you can read the following: we’re working on making it so Stat Boosts and Team Boosts can drop as weapon modifications via the card drop as well as by performing monthly side jobs. This means that Stat and Team Boosts are available both by playing and through the Steam Marketplace. These weapon modifications can be added to any weapons that are eligible for skin Stat Boost or Team Boosts, and add a different Stat Boost depending on what weapon you add the modification to. Adding a Stat or Team Boost modification will replace a skin's Stat Boost effect. These weapon modifications can't be traded or sold.

We're currently testing this internally and our goal is to let you guys try it out on the 17th of December.

FAQ - Stat & Team Boosts
Hey guys,

We've been reading the forums and decided to compile a frequently asked questions thread. We’ll update this FAQ accordingly as more questions arise.

FAQ:

Q: How many boosts can I apply to each weapon?
A: 1 Boost per weapon (Stat or Team Boost). Applying a Boost modification to a weapon that has a skin that already has a Boost will replace the skins Boost.

Q: How do I get the Stat or Team Boosts?
A: As of now, there are two ways the Boosts can be obtained in-game. 1) via the monthly side-jobs feature where you get to pick between a Stat Boost or Team Boost when you complete the job and 2) via the card loot drop system at the end of each successful heist.

Q: Is the Stat or Team Boost a one time use only?
A: No. They will function like any other weapon modification such as silencers or gadgets which means they cost in-game currency to apply (cost not set yet) and they will be returned to your inventory once "unequipped".

Q: Are the Stat and Team Boost modification drops specific to certain weapons?
A: We have 10 different types of Stat Boost and one Team Boost. Depending on what type of Stat Boost you have, you can attach it to different weapons (to reflect the weapons that have Stat or Team boosted skins). Press this link to see what Stat or Team Boost modifications can be attached to each weapon as of now.

Q: Will you add more Stat Boosts/Why can't I use Stat or Team Boosts on all my weapons?
A: With the release of new skins and safes, more weapons will be available for the player to add Stat or Team Boosts on them (Stat and Team Boosts can only be added to weapons that have skins with Stat and Team Boosts)

I tried this game, didn't like it at all. I was expecting something along the lines of GTAs heists, but better. What I got was a sh*tty 90s type gameplay, animation, graphics, not to mention playing favorites

Payday is a very arcade-y game, so I can't blame it for not meeting your expectations :p

 

However it's running on the Diesel Engine, which was designed for racing games then they somehow made this FPS with it, which is why the animations 'n that are weird, plus all the bugginess and poor optimisation. I hear Starbreeze acquired a new engine, so if they make Payday 3 it'll hopefully have a chance at being made properly.

I hope they make Payday 3 (or better yet a pure reboot of the franchise) and start from scratch.

Without the small DLC updates they've been doing and without the microtransactions.... without the stat boosting effortless skins, without the nonsense they've been pulling off with Payday 2.

It used to be a great game and it started from a humble (and succesful) attempt for a First Person Shooter 'bank robbery' game. But they've just made it turn out for the worst.

You know, I used to be mad that Xbox didn't get updates, but the more I see the stuff PC is getting, I'm kinda glad we're so far behind. We don't have dumb sh*t like this, and captain no fun winters ruining our heists.

Everyone else should have been doing the same thing instead of blindly paying for each one.

Boiling Point heists, they're pretty good.

But of course, for every one good thing they do, they do a heap load of other bad sh*t, like messing with the skills system, releasing more sh*tty characters, more unwanted collaborations, you know how it is.

I kinda got bored of this game though I wonder if it would be a good time to go back as I heard that the micro-transactions were actually removed a while ago since Overkill got full rights back for the game(they were working under some sh*tty publisher before). They've probably been trying to make up for all the bullsh*t that people complained about.

these achievements just got added ahead of the Hoxton Housewarming party tomorrow...

 

basically two new difficulties, "Mayhem" and "One Down"

 

and I was just getting used to Deathwish :p

Last couple of weeks been getting back into Payday2. But holy sh*t. A one year hiatus has not been good on me. Well, atleast nog when it comes to understanding the skill/perks. Most of my weapon builds are still viable (after some changes to increase the damage/accuracy again). And also my playstyle is still rather effective. Most random lobbies I was one of the people who didn't get downed or barely got downed.

Curious what this crimefest will bring. They better open up the weapon mods alot more (it's bullsh*t that some weapons that are the same/equal to others cannot acces the weapon mods it should be compatible with).

Day 1: New difficulties, from the achievement changes there'll be Mayhem as a bridge between Overkill and Deathwish, and One Down being a step-up from Deathwish; likelihood being Deathwish is made more difficult

Day 2: New safe house, and I'm guessing that includes the safe house customisation

Day 3: New mask pack

Day 4: New throwable

Day 5: New safe (lol)

Day 6: New enemy

Day 7: New mask pack (second one)

Day 8: Mutators (like from unreal tournament, or goonmod)

Day 9: New weapon

Day 10: New Heist (classic)

There's a BLT mod that rebalances it to use the STANAG magazines by default, as well as another one that removes the foregrip and swaps it to the Eagle Heavy's animations (with the Para's reload animation). Both make it a lot more enjoyable to use for me. Speaking of mods, have you guys seen that standalone weapon mods are possible now? I mean brand new weapons that are added to the game, without replacing anything, and they even work in multiplayer lobbies. Granted, other players will see you using the AMCAR and Chimano 88, but it still blows my mind that this is possible. I get almost as much enjoyment out of seeing what PD2's modding community is capable of as I've gotten playing the game itself.

 

As for Crimefest, I'm looking forward to the new difficulties most of all. I only ever play this game with friends (fun fact: I have literally never played a public match of PD2, and I never intend to) and we can handle DW on most heists (I have PTSD from our attempts at The Bomb: Forest), but we usually opt for Overkill because DW feels like a chore. I like the added risk, but I hate the bullet sponge enemies. The problem is, Overkill is too easy. The only time we ever had trouble was when doing Tabula Rasa, and even that only took like two attempts. We've always wanted a difficulty between OK and DW; I just hope Overkill balances it well, now that we're finally getting it.

 

Also, I really hope the new enemy doesn't take over a year to add and ends up just being a pre-existing enemy multiplied and given a boatload more health. f*ck you, Winters.

Considering this the new enemy is likely gonna have something to do with boatloads more health, which is going to be fun :p

 

But yeah the difficulty changes are what I'm looking forward to most, overkill is piss easy and deathwish just depends on who you're playing with - I only play with pubbies 'cus no-one I know plays it, and it's a mixed bag. Either it's people who really shouldn't be doing deathwish, who I'm hoping will filter down to Mayhem instead, or people who know what they're doing upon which it's just...still a bit too easy, especially with the power creep. Really shouldn't be able to carry a team as a single person on the hardest difficulty of a co-op game, but there it is...

 

Also I hope the new higher difficulty includes stuff for stealth as well, because deathwish stealth is far too easy to be called deathwish. Also 'cus stealth is what I like to do the most tbh.

I'm all for making DW stealth harder as long as it doesn't involve placing static guards on the map. DW on Car Shop was ridiculously situational when it first came out because of the static guard in front of the office, and I don't think I ever managed to complete it until they patched it to remove him. I know it was possible if you used a suppressed shotgun to move his body out of line of sight of the front staircase, but that's way easier said than done considering you had to get between him and the door and shoot him all before he became fully alerted.

 

As for having no one to play it with, we should play some time if you're on the PC version. I've been meaning to get back into this game lately.

The update was a piece of sh*t, but it's Overkill, it's to be expected.

The design of the 'One Down' difficulty is actually sh*ttier than the design of Captain f*cking Winters.

Basically, all enemies are super bulletsponges, and deal super high damage, which makes Armor useless and Dodge the only way to go, while any weapon that isn't a f*cking Bow, Grenade Launcher, Flamethrower? and Thanatos completely useless and ammo inefficient (Bows and Grenade Launchers got buffed!) It's essentially Very Pay 2 Win in the weapons department.

 

The basic enemy on One Down difficulty has 1440 f*cking health, higher than any non-bulldozer enemy had on old Deathwish, and of course, low headshot multiplier. Bows and Grenade Launchers are buffed to do over 1000 f*cking damage, which are DLC only weapons.

 

So for the difficulty to be actually playable, you need Suit Rogue Dodge (ICTV Armorer gets taken out in 2 f*cking shots by said basic enemy at range), everyone with Medic Bags (because Bows and Grenade Launcher are very ammo efficient, f*cking hell, you get 50 f*cking arrows for one of the bows that you can take back from dead enemies + there's also ammo pickups for them as well?), Converts (since enemies are so super tanky and deal so much damage, on top of being so easy to intimidate), Inspire, Swan Song, and the mentioned weapons.

Getting back into it last two weeks. I found myself aching to the Payday game (duh and or hello, the game itself is pretty great).

Crimefest 2015 ruined it for me. Yes, you can say whatever you want that those f*cking ugly ass skins don't ruin anything for yourself if you don't bother about them... that (eventually) having seperate 'stat booster' effects from the skins was also something you shouldn't bother about. But the whole ordeal with the drills and knowing how they wanted to pan it out was something that ruined it entirely for me. Those were things they always were against + the fact they charged for pretty much every single piece of DLC they released (even promotional/crossover content).

I could live with that. But also adding those safes/drills was it for me. Glad they turned everything around and they seem to be doing the right things now. This crimefest looks to be shaping up really f*cking nicely.

Also: that f*cking trailer with Hoxton and John Cleese. That kinda won me over already for having high hopes again for the game and franchise.
