When I used this with Widescreen HOR+ support mod, the game wouldn't launch at all. I double click the GTA_SA.exe file and it makes the current window inactive and shows the loading cursor but the game doesn't even start. I have CLEO 4.1 installed with GTA_SA.exe being US 1.0. Odd thing is, I tried it with GTA Underground (still using the same exact .exe, but with CLEO 4.3) and it worked there. Also of note: CLEO 4.3 causes the game to crash on the unmodified GTA SA. Keep in mind I have all the files in the right places.

Try going to the Task Manager and killing the "gta_sa.exe" process. Open the game and you should be good.

Why does Scarface generic fix cause game to load with 8x aa even when I have turned aa off in game options? It only happens in retail game with generic fix, not when I'm playing nosTeam version or when launching retail game from 3d ripper.

had to reinstall vice city from scratch, when i finished i noticed that the radio text is a bit weird to me, idk if it's only me

Hey, so I have the widescreen fix on GTA 3, and for some reason, Claude's movement kinda stutters when he moves to either the left or right, or when he is running/jogging diagonally. Does anyone know how to fix this? I have tried all the compatibility modes BTW. Thanks.

There's no log file or anything anywhere...

 

Figured out the issue as soon as I post as always -_-. Apparently the changes to the radio text make it incompatible with Thirteen's VCS radio font mod.

I hate to be a pain in the arse asking once again, but how exactly do I get the thick PS2 like text shadow on gta3 and still have a non-pixelated weapon hud? Because it seems I can only get one or the other and not both.

That was fixed in the developer build.

This is so nice! Finally I can play this gem on glorious widescreen and 60 fps! :D

 

Btw something weird happens with shadows when using "FixHUD = 1" along with the in-game detailed shadows option:

EDIT: Is it possible to increase the LOD draw distance in this game with CheatEngine or some other method?

That must be one of the things that affected by hud hook, unintentionally. I'm not sure if I can do anything about it.

 

 

EDIT: Is it possible to increase the LOD draw distance in this game with CheatEngine or some other method?

I tried to modify some values, didn't find anything useful. But it should be possible, I don't know how. Edited by ThirteenAG

As mentioned above, the option "Fix HUD" glitches the shadows. It also breaks the mini-map and stretches the main menu in a wrong way. Some loading screens are also affected. Are these fixable?

 

Do you think it would be possible to make the button prompts look like xbox/dualshock buttons? Like you did on the NFS games.

 

Another note, this game seems to have frame pacing issues. Limiting the framerate to 60 makes it render at 58 fps. Without your fix, it renders at 29 fps. Do you have any idea on how to fix this?

 

The fov looks a bit off, lke it's vert-.

I just checked, fov seems fine to me overall. As for the other questions, no to all of them, this game is very weird and not fun to work with.

hmm, looks like VC radio text isn't fixed in the update (I thought it was fixed in developer build but now both builds are the same)

I use UAL, asi is inside scripts folder. I even thought that it's actually fixed but my vision is wrong, and tried some old build. Radio text is't stretched there, so it's not fixed here

I dunno what happened but when I've overwtitten old test version again with new one - radio text stopped to be stretched. So it's fixed. O_O

just forget it :)
