[GTA|NFS|MP|OTHER] Widescreen Fixes Pack

When I put in the contents of the GTA III widescreen fix, it makes my game be relegated to the background not actually start up. It has something to do with the d3d89.dll, maybe? Using 1.1 Steam exe.

From GTASA.WidescreenFix.ini:

CarSpeedDependantFOV = 10.0 // FOV will be increased at high speeds. The lower the value, the higher FOV will be. Set to 0.0 to disable.

Is "0" or "10.0" the vanilla default value? I've noted that FOV is incredible high when driving fast: http://i.imgur.com/k5V3zaa.png

There's no default value, set it to whatever you want or disable with 0.0.

"CarSpeedDependantFOV = 0.0" doesn't still disable the FOV change, must be a feature in the base game.

It is. III/VC don't have it in vanilla game.

Minor thing in Vice City. Okay, so somehow I had it where the intro videos wouldn't get stretched in widescreen. They just played at their original size with black bars on the side. Now, for some reason, they are stretched again. I assumed the problem and/or solution would have something to do with this mod.

Only way to unstrech the intro video as far as i know now (without doing some hard coding work), is to reconvert the video with added black borders. Aint universal solution but it just works.

I know what it was. I had grabbed the 16:9 videos from the PS2 Feels mod before, and forgot to add them in again. Problem solved.

That's because they are meant to be used together.

EDIT: Your wording confuses me. Do you mean TAG's WS fix breaks the -/+ if used together with wshps.asi? That was fixed ages ago in latest version.

As you can see, that screenshot was captured with the scale parameters set to 1.0 (to match original Wesser's fix' scaling). This is how it looks like on defaults, still not that accurate

It's indeed minor on defaults, but if scaling is changed, it's worse you know

Could some please explain to me how I correctly install the widescreen fix for Vice City? I have tried many things, but nothing seems to work. Is there somewhere a clear guide on how to fix this?

How did you install it? You only need to copy-paste the contents of the download into Vice City's folder. See this if it's not clear.

I have tried that exactly, although there wasn't a script folder within the installation folder of VC, should this folder be there? I just placed the script folder from the archieve into the installation folder of vc, and same with d3d8.dll file.

So, as I have followed the instructions AFAIK, anyone could give me any tips to get this to work?

Did you install ultimate asi loader (needed to load asi files in correct order, depends on mod)? It's name is dinput8.dll by default.

Dear ThirteenAG: Could you make a NFS Undercover Patch? Currently it supports 1920x1200 and thats it. :/

I wanna play it in 3440x1440 but there is no patch available.

I could also take a look at this for you, but it'll probably involve hex editing of some sort.

First version: properly scales menu, background picture and hud (radio station text and heath percents) but text in minimissions (police, taxi and others) is invisible
Second version-stretched menu, background picture, hud with radiostations text, but text in missions is visible. plus missing police stars

If you're playing with non-16/9 aspect ratio, you need to tweak FrontendAspectRatio parameter in the INI to prevent cropping the backgrounds. The newer version also hides the stars when you're not wanted.

Yes indeed, but it's not really necessary to edit when WidescreenFrontend textures are installed. Remember, that this option is aspect ratio of these textures and has nothing to do with game's resolution.
