Yeah, downgrading is a matter of minutes, making compatibility for a mod like Wesser's fix takes days. It's just waste of time.

Making support for 3/VC steam was easy, because i have a special script from maxorator to convert all used addresses, some of them ofc was fixed manually, but it was a quick adaptation. It's impossible to do that with SA.

 

And I don't know why you have a problem with DOWNgrading, newer exes is not better at all than 1.0 with mods and fixes.

I don't think you understand, this is a public forum, anyone can reply to a post and answer a question. This isn't your own personal conversation board where you pick specific people to talk to.

 

Just because you're wrong in this situation doesn't mean you have to get mad about it. Downgrading is your best option, especially if you want to use mods on San Andreas. I don't understand why you wouldn't do this in the first place as you'd have to be pretty ignorant to think downgrading is a negative simply because it means using a lower .exe version.

Look, wise guy, if you think I'm wrong, prove me wrong. Could you please stop being an ignorant dick and name at least one thing 3.0 fixes compared to 1.0 and hasn't been ported back?

 

You don't case about my 'status' - fine, there's no need if you ask me. Just accept the fact you're a stubborn asshole and TAG isn't going to spend his time just to please you.

Hey, I just got an idea. You are probably well aware about the financial situation between USD/EUR and RUB exchange rate. I heard the rumour that steam is gonna stop accepting ruble payments and use USD instead here in Russia. And you also know, GTA5 is impossible to preorder atm on steam. So, i guess it would be a good idea to have a few bucks to buy GTA5 when the time comes, but currently exchanging rubles to dollars is not profitable at all, and it may get even worse.

So, here's my offer, if you want to buy any game in steam with a good price, contact me and I'll gift it to you(ofc if possible to gift) purchasing with a local price.

For example:

Grand Theft Auto Complete Pack: US - $49.99, RU - 12$.

Dying Light: US - $59.99, RU - 12$.

etc etc...

The prices is really good right now, but I don't know for how long it's gonna be that way.

Hey guys, I just wanted to report the following issue I have with the widescreen support for GTA SA (I mean the library ThirteenAG created, GTASA_widescreen_fix).

I am getting this error message, it's completely random. Some times I can play for an hour without crashing, sometimes it crashes right after a few minutes:

Now, yes I do have Visual Studio and that's because I have a background in C(++) but I never ever looked at the GTA SA engine ever, so I do not know a single thing about it.
What I believe is that register EDX should not have been NULL, but should have pointed to somewhere valid. Therefore I think a simple NULL check would suffice in the function @ 0x6E502183.

Please forgive me if I am wrong, I am not trying to be a smartass, I am trying to be of any help.

 

Also the question came to mind how much Silent's module (SilentPatch) is implementing widescreen support? Since we have the SilentPatch, and the widescreen support module, it would be great to see SilentPatch adapt this module, am I wrong?

I am using a dll loader I made my own.

It's very simple though, it replaces ogg.dll (this is the first dll loaded into the game) and calls LoadLibrary for all dlls placed in the mods/ folder.

It also hooks (Write/Read)PrivateProfileString to rewrite to the correct path (mods/config) instead of the root GTA:SA folder.

I think this approach is the closest to the regular asi loader? I don't know.

Well, then I don't think it's my fault, as I said above, this function shouldn't be called during gameplay.

 

I understand the point. Next time it occurs, I will be sure to have debugged the hell out of it. Is the source code of yours available? It would be much easier and faster to debug using the source code instead of interpreting the bytecode myself ;)

I guess you could try getting a somewhat tested ASI loader and then check if it still crashes.
