I think in the days leading up to GTA V there should be a kind of block, so someone posts a topic but it has to go to a moderator first, meaning all the good threads will get through and the stupid pointless ones wont.

Or there should be like a 200 character minimum so people making other ridiculous threads wouldn't be able too because of the limit.

Anyone agree?

There is no point in having restrictions like that one. This is a forum to discuss about videogames, if you see a spam topic then just report it and the area- and global-moderators will deal with it. That is why they moderate this forum.

Yes, but with the time passing, there will be more and more topics that will need approval, possibly going up to 100 a day. Do you really think that staff can spend all day reading all kind of topics and approving them? And also take care of the spammy posts in the already created topics? Doing this thing would take a huge amount of nerves and time for the staff.

About the posting limit, it could help but it could also not. What about people who DO create a good topic? Why also restrict them to 200 characters? Besides, that's a damn small number of characters to make a decent topic. Also, I'm not sure if such a restriction could be implemented in the current software.

If you see anything rule-breaking just report the topic / post. It'll be much easier for both members and staff. icon14.gif

Master of San Andreas

Well that'll be a lot more work for the Staff. It's just one of those ideas that look good on paper.

As for Posting Limits I don't think it's necessary.Like miro said for the People who create good topics. What'll happen to them?

Adding to what miro said, if posting topics required approval, a lot of new members would just end up posting the same topic multiple times if they don't realize why their topic doesn't appear in the forum immediately. Topic moderation in a highly active forum would be a lot of work for the forum moderators. They are not here 24/7 and there really should be no need to approve topics. If a topic isn't worthy, then just report it and the the staff will decide what to do with it whenever they're online.
