Well before this gets locked...

 

 

Wii-U:

Xbox 720 (from what we know):

+central media hub

-less focused on games

 

PS4:

+Dedicated to the gaming experience

+Lots of cool, unique features

+Tonnes of critically acclaimed exclusives

Not much of a topic starter. Why not a more distinctive and less fanboyism-provoking question? Which console are you looking forward to the most? Which do you think has the most potential in terms of games? Which do you think will lead the generation?

 

Me personally, I'm not too interested in any of them. I probably won't be buying one at all, as I've just started playing PC games, and I want to put all my funds towards that. I do think that the PS4 announcement shows promise. I like the attention put towards the games themselves. The social integration also seems like a natural evolution. I'm sure there will be disappointment in terms of backwards compatibility, but Nintendo has been the king of that for a while now anyway.

 

The Wii U looks nice - the tablet controller seems like a great design to me. If not the gameplay interactivity that would make the touch screen awesome, playing games in bed, for example would do it. That being said, it does seem to have some issues and downsides thus far in.

 

The next Xbox.... well, it's pretty easy to jump onto the "Microsoft is f*cking everything up" bandwagon. I used to hate Windows 8 and the Modern/Metro/Titsit interface, but I've gotten used to it after being on Windows 8 for some time. There's not much of a "desktop" environment to lose on an Xbox anyway, so full screen Modern-style UI will work nicely. I am worried, however, about a few things: Online passes, advertisements, more online passes and downloadable content, less games and more music, etc. I know these problems apply pretty equally to all three systems at this point. I'm more worried about the whole "less games, more other stuff" deal. I know that Microsoft is a company that does much, much more than gaming. I understand that they can't survive without pushing the content distribution and syncing they've been promoting. It just seems like that could get in the way of games too much.

 

Long story short, bring on the Steambox .
