GTA-King
Here's what we know: Michael used to be a professional criminal, and one day he decided to "retire" (his definition of retirement is going into witness protection). He wanted to start a family & be a good guy for a change. Over the years he realises that being a family man is not at all what he expected. He doesn't know how to talk to his kids, & his wife only loves his money. He most likely feels drained & useless, which would explain the therapy. But anyway, trailer 2 implies that Michael's relationship with his son is going to be special. Not like most father/son relationships... but something special nonetheless. Now, here's where the speculation begins. Being rich can obviously alter family relationships. So over the years, it's possible Jimmy would care less about the relationship with his dad, & more about hanging with his friends... because obviously he can do much more with them than his father, & especially since he has rich parents to give him money. Michael wanted to be a good guy & start a family... he gave up his criminal life for it. Over the years, his life has become mundane & boring. It would make sense if he starts to get addicted to the rush of being a criminal again. That combined with the absence of a bond between him & his son could turn out to be interesting. Michael sees Franklin as the son he never had... so maybe after meeting him, it would reflect on his own son. Maybe it will motivate him to form a solid bond with him. Let's take a look at the bond between John Marston & his son Jack: As you can see, the bond between John & his son was pretty solid... unlike the bond between Michael & Jimmy. So, since Michael is returning to crime (either for the rush, to provide for his family, or both) it's possible Michael's ego will slowly inflate as the story goes on, & that would make sense. Like I said earlier, he's been out of the game for awhile. But anyway, what does all that have to do with the bond between Michael & Jimmy? What if Michael's ego eventually gets so out of control that he tries to finally bond with his son? Maybe once he returns to crime, he gets his confidence back (his "swag" if you will) and then he decides to teach his son all about how to be a successful criminal. It's tragic I know, but think about it from Michael's perspective. It would be reverse to the relationship between John & his son. He taught his son how to be a good guy, so maybe Michael will teach his son to be a bad guy. Maybe something bad will happen to Jimmy because of Michael... which would be pretty tragic. All he would want is to teach his son what he's good at... and that's being a professional criminal. Michael taking Jimmy along for a heist? Totally possible, in my opinion. Look closely at the guy in the van. I see red hair... like Jimmy's. And those look exactly like the shoes he wears in trailer 2! Also, notice how he is covering up the exact spot on his neck where Jimmy's "entitled" tattoo is. Just wanted to share all this with you guys. It's been on my mind for awhile, and I'm glad I finally got it out. I do think, if anything, the bond between Michael & Jimmy will be special. Because after all, Michael is the first protagonist to actually have a son (that we know of). So R* wouldn't miss out on some interesting story elements. So what do YOU guys think their relationship will be like? Discuss. Edited March 19, 2013 by GTA-King
r0eladn
Wow you really thought about this. I can imagine Jimmy gets in trouble and Michael needs to 'save' him. Or Jimmy wants to go to his dads 'work' sometime. But what will they do together? What are they doing in the car together and talking about bouncing? Interesting.. GTA-King
^ The fact that Jimmy seems to get in alot of trouble could mean Michael would have the incentive to try & teach him how to be a professional criminal. Tragic I know... but it's possible I think.
GTAfan786
Why do i have a feeling that this mission is linked with the scene in the trailer 2 where his dad has to save him with his convertible?

GTA-King
Something else I would like to point out in the pest control pic (edited the OP btw). Racecarlock
http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=547461 If that guy gets his wish, we'll be flipping god damn burgers (Check his "Realistic jobs" section for that) before we'll ever get to the heists. Racecarlock
^ How much of the OP did you read exactly? Sorry, I actually did read the whole thing and you do deserve a real response and to be honest I would love for michael to enjoy what he does in the game and have some interactions, struggles, and bonding time with his son. But when some asshat suggests a mandatory story mission where we get a boring 9 to 5 job, I have to make sure more people are pissed off about it than me. GTA-King
^ Ahhh ok. But yeah I agree. I think they will have an interesting relationship for sure. So do you think it's possible Jimmy is the one stepping out of the van, judging by the evidence I provided?
ExtremoMania
Their relationship could/might be improved somewhat during the course of the storyline. I guess that in the main course where heist missions will happen, there will be a side-story where Michael could hang-out with his family sometime. GTA-King
^ It's all just logical speculation, honestly. However, I like to believe my "Jimmy in the pest control van" theory is true. TheDominoEffect
I do agree with the OP on it being Jimmy coming out of the van as the idea for Michael to finally bond with his kids may be too tempting for him to turn down. We may possibly see Michael having to make a choice between the son he never had or the son he does have? Michaels old snitching ways may come back a he does a deal with the FIB to save Jimmy for either Franklin/Trevor. Massive amounts of potential for a sub-plot around Jimmy with some comic moments thrown in.

Family of michael, Trevor and his friends, Franklin and his girlfriend. Therapy sessions. I do feel bad for Jimmy that Michael rather had Franklin as his son. Rjeev142
Personally, after seeing trailer 2 I thought it could be Jimmy in the pest control artwork, but jimmy seems to chubby to be the person alongside Michael in the pest control artwork. Then again, I suppose weight watchers is always a possibility.

It's very possible that could be Jimmy I think... 1. You can kind of see red hair. 2. He's covering the part of his neck where Jimmy's "entitled" tattoo is. 3. His shoes look very similar to Jimmy's in trailer 2. @r0eladn: You never know. Maybe when Michael finally tries to bond with his son, he does so by teaching him all about crime. Maybe the jewelry store heist is the first one he takes Jimmy on? Edited March 9, 2013 by GTA-King

You've been lampooning that realism thread all week, linking it to multiple other threads, and for what? What have you achieved? Your crusade against realism is even more obnoxious than the suggestions themselves. Get a life. Please. OT: I can see Michael mentoring Jimmy to become a master criminal, but then again this is the relationship Michael has with Franklin. Something tells me that R* wouldn't want Jimmy and Franklin's relationships to Michael to be redundant, so I think Michael will (at first, anyway) try to insulate Jimmy from the fast life as he works with Franklin. Jimmy, being nosy, will discover Michael's secret and, rebelling, get himself into trouble and maybe, just maybe, the crew will eventually let Jimmy come along on a heist. Something tells me this will only create a problem/rift in the crew though, and a new plot point for Michael's story arc. One thing is certain: Jimmy will be a liability for Michael, along with the rest of his family.

Johnny Playert
It would really be an intriguing story arc, for sure! And it's not far fetched if you ask me. That guy in the artwork could very well be him... but in all honesty, it could be anyone. Nonetheless the theory sounds exciting. Just think of the possibilities. It would certainly mean we'd have a 4th protagonist to play with (as some has speculated along these parts) but the only thing that kinda holds me back is the fact he (as far as we know) hasn't done anything criminal before, so certainly that means he can't join in on big heists, or anything really dangerous as a matter of fact. Hmmm... would be a neat sidemission, to play as Jimmy and slowly train him into become streetwise and tough, and learn to shoot etc etc... I gotta say, it would be really cool if it turns out to be true!
GTA-King
^ Well, it seems like Jimmy gets into alot of trouble. So maybe that will give Michael the incentive to teach him how to be a professional criminal. Maybe Jimmy would become jealous of the relationship his dad has with Franklin, so he would then try to prove himself.
