Whiskey
I'm enjoying the game at the moment. Haven't had any problems. Just that I'm sh*t at city planning. Only thing I miss is being able to go more depth into the Budget, like changing the funding for Mass Transit etc. Is there a GTAF region or anything? Would be cool to build with some of you guys. Grahamoo is my origin name, add me guys. Regards to that free EA game. Is that any game?

G The Generous
to be honest. do you really think you can change the world by making a petition? if thing were that simple, DRM would've been gone years ago.
Sgt. Foley
I believe I saw this last night, on the White House petition thing. Then again, I was running on 2hrs of sleep. Somebody confirm that for me please.
sivispacem
Isn't DRM an installation program that installs unremovable files that normally break your computer? That was one particular form of DRM about 6 years ago. Installed a bootkit and got flagged by lots of AV providers as malware. The overwhelming majority don't do stuff like this. baguvix_wanrltw
anyone who is condoning this type of DRM must be actively trying to destroy the gaming market. Learning from warez scene groups means learning to win. Obviously... The music industry took its sweet time but they learnt it in the end, and now a customer gets a product that's (almost) on par with what a pirate gets. (320k MP3, pirates:FLAC) The movie industry took its sweet time but they learnt it in the end, and now a customer gets a product that's (almost) on par with what a pirate gets. (1080p streams, pirates:earlier, multi language, can keep files) The games industry is taking its sweet time but they will learn it in the end, and then a customer will get a product that's (almost) on par with what a pirate gets. (pirates: earlier, no changing discs, no DRM in whatever form, ...) f*ck EA, I'm happy with them leading the charge here, they'll be the first to feel the effects of it soon enough. Oh and obviously some of you guys missed the joke in the stock chart that was posted: the shares have been going up all the time, NOT down. But that will not last. For a few months maybe, but EA WILL f*ck up more releases like Sim City (yes I know Maxis claims it's their fault... ouch...) and Diablo.
mdniterder
Sadly this new version of SimCity falls short comparered to others, There are a lot of things missing, Even if they patch the offline feature, it appears that you will lose even more features. I fully feel they destroyed SimCity when they came out with SimCity Societies. I wish Maxis was like old maxis and wish Will Wright was involved. Think of roller coaster tycoon, Dead, Now its a Nintendo portable game. Microsoft Flight Simulator became Microsoft Flight, I believe it was cloud based, Plug is now pulled on it. What happens in a year or few years, EA decides to stop supporting the game, you can no longer play the game because well they said your done. I still play 2000 3000 and SimCity 4, its my choice how long I play it years later. NOT EA Games. EA Games destroys there line of games, NFS comes to mind for me, stopped buying it when they went with the ricers. EA Games - Throw it in the trash The negative points of the new SimCity (2013) more mentioned in forums of SimCity fans are: No option 100% offline with single player mode. Always-on connection to Origin (EA servers). Limitations to players in fake single player mode. The presence of empty spaces not editable (useless empty spaces) with automatic road connections. Absence of terraforming. Absence of farms. Not being able to save your maps on the hard drive (you will not be able to reload the city to a stage prior to disasters). Road connections placed in a fixed and pre-determined location in the map. Airport City (the city is only one International Airport, occupying the entire map 2x2km). Absence of subway. Automatic road connections. Player doesn’t have complete control over the zoning by population density (almost automatic zoning). Dead space between all the buildings. Size of the maps is 2km by 2km (small maps). Not being able to control the regional transport Modding restrictions. SimCity 2013 Blog While I signed the petition I feel this game is still doomed. Audiophile
I'm sure EA will make us all buy an expansion pack to get all of those features/fix the current ones. This is all part of EA's grand plan.
