Kifflom112
So, I finally got my laptop fixed(it's screen was shattered) and brought back on the 1st. Well, not all has been good since then. At first when I tried to watch YT videos, it would take longer than 5 minutes just to load a 360p 30 second video. It then got better, but that doesn't ease things up one bit. No matter what resolution I use, the videos lag, REALLY, BAD. Like real bad. I've installed Flash Player and it doesn't help. I also have Firefox. Does and anybody have any advice? AZAZEL
No advice besides the usual reformat. The fact that it took a long time to load might be an indication that there's a problem with your connection/ISP, or perhaps your ethernet drivers. What sort of laptop do you have? Stinky12
Got the same problem as well and I still can't figure out what's causing it. Youtube clip takes forever, it will rewind itself after a few seconds of playback. I'm playing a 1 minute clip, After 10 seconds in, the clip will go black, and start all over. It's not only Youtube, any other sides that has video on it. Other lags are even simple websites like Google or this forum. Background images and logos takes forever to load, it's not instant like it's suppose to be, it's more of you can see it loading frame by frame. Methods I've tried , and did not help are 1. Reformat, did the same with Win7 and Win8 on either HDD or SSD 2. Change SATA cable, remove all other SATA drives, change SATA power cable, remove any unwanted I/O cards 3. Update bios 4. Check ram 5. Switch ethernet cables 6. Switch ethernet ports and there was once when Windows cannot detect that I have a cable plugged in. 7. Swap graphic cards 8. Tried IE There was another topic, similar to what you have and it says something about HTML 5 being the problem, but I doubt that's it because I have another system and it doesn't have any of this problem. Wolf68k
Is YT the only video site this happens at? Have you tried Vimeo.com, Break.com and so on?
Kifflom112
It's only a YouTube problem, and here is the thing. It only happens with Firefox! I just went to Chrome and it ran smoothly(yet loaded slowly). Do I need to update or something?
Trund
I can only give you the advice to use both browsers. Sometimes Chrome has problems, sometimes Firefox, but usually using the "other" one if you encounter a problem fixes it. To your problem speficially: It could be a lot of things. Maybe you have some extensions installed that interfere with YouTube/Flash. Flash could be bugged, but in that case you should encounter the same problem on other Flash based video websites. Besides that there are a million problems that could cause slow YT Video loading. Personally I had an awkward problem once: My videos loaded extremely slow on my laptop, while all other websites loaded just fine. I just couldn't find a fix for months, installing new drivers didn't help at all. After a few months I started to play around with my WiFi settings, and found this option called "Afterburner". I had no idea what is was for, and it was set to on (well it sounds cool at least). I decided to test what happens if I turn it off, so I did. After I did that, my YT Videos suddenly loaded extremely fast, even 1080p only took seconds now and not hours. Point of my story: I didn't find anything about this while ever googling for this problem, so it seems like there are thousands of causes for slow YT Videos. So if it works for you with another browser, just be happy with it. You can also try out my "fix" above, in case you have a WiFi connection, but I think this option only applies to Broadcom WiFi chips.
