Assassins Creed II was the best overall with Revelations having a nice story.

(Voted for II)

II is my favorite since it was so fresh at the time, and was such a significant improvement over the first. The storyline was compelling, the gameplay was engaging, and the portrayal of the Italian Renaissance was everything I wanted it to be. I'd rank the games like so (from most to least favorite):

II, III, Brotherhood, Revelations, Assassin's Creed

As much as I loved the first AC's storyline and its gritty atmosphere, I felt that the gameplay for each assassination was far too repetitive, and eventually it became a chore to collect information for each assassination. Furthermore, collecting flags was pretty pointless.

Brotherhood, as I'm sure II is just as good, though I haven't played it yet. But Brotherhood is the best in the series IMO. I used to think Revelations was, but upon buying the game and completing literally everything, it felt empty, and the horses were were replaced with Ziplines, that really made me pissed because I loved to ride horses a lot in Brotherhood, and when they removed it in Revelations it just felt like a different game. Assassin's Creed 3 is amazing though, it is number 2 on my list by far. And maybe AC4 will make number 1 on my list, who knows.

Definitely 2, best story, best maps (seriously, Venice was amazing), beautiful graphics, lots of gameplay features. It was incredible. BH and Rev were just rehashes of it and really stalled down the series making it a yearly release. I also really hated the map in BH, there was just too much dead and empty space without any free running, at least Rev kept it interesting with a different location, not to mention no more f*cking horses which I thought handled terribly.

AC2 for me,one of the best games i ever play, although i like all of them.AC1 was good ,but it was like GTA3 compared to VC and SA becouse of lack of content compared to AC2.Then Venice and Florenze were two most beautiful cities in all gaming worlds,Ezio was so far best of all protagonists in series,we saw his whole life in these games.ACB and ACR were more like expansions on 2 but still good games. I liked even AC3,and think that \desmond and Connor deserve more love, they handle situations in which they were good, and i liked their gameplay too. This new game,Black Flag,i will buy it and enjoy it as others, but this will be more like what ACB was to AC2,and with his cross generation status,i expect that real sequel and start of Eve Trilogy will be next year completly on new consoles and PC.

Assasins Creed 2 was my favourite i felt the storyline, gameplay and just basically the overall experience was the best so far in the series. The rest of the AC games have been good/decent but AC2 still tops them.

In my opinion...

Story: Assassin's Creed II and Brotherhood > Revelations > I > III.

Gameplay: Brotherhood > II > Revelations > I/III.

Map: Revelations and II > Brotherhood > I/III.

Protagonist: Ezio (II/BH) > Ezio (Rev) > Altaïr (Rev) > Altaïr (I) > Ezio (Young, II) > Desmond > Haytham > Connor.

Overall, I would say Brotherhood and II are equally the best, Revelations is a close second.

AC II by far. It blew my mind the first time I played it. Renaissance Italy is one of the greatest periods ever. AC III never conveyed that feeling, but the idea of playing an Native American during the American Revolution sounded awesome. I just came across as meh.

Still a good game. Has nothing on II though IMO. Hopefully IV puts more depth into the setting.

As for the others I've never finished the first one because quite frankly it came across as linear and repetitive. Brotherhood and Revelations done their part on expanding Ezio's story, but felt more like what LCS and VCS were to the GTA series.

If I had to rank them them it would be..

1) AC II

2) Revelations

3) AC III

4) Brotherhood

5) AC

It'd probably go Brotherhood > 1 > 2 > 3 > Revelations for me. I really loved the first game and despite the complaints for repetition I found the methodological nature of Altair's work to be an element to the experience. Whether or not they intended to, they gave a real sense that you were actually doing what the game said you were. It felt authentic and for that I found it the most enjoyable. Brotherhood was my favorite for it's introduction of the Assassin's guild as well as the combat being an improvement over 2 and 1. Revelations fell flat with me, though I enjoy the ERE and Constantinople.

All in all I'm excited for the new Assassin's Creed. It looks fun and in an interesting location. More importantly, it's not bogged down by the historical events of the period surrounding it like 3 was, and the naval combat was definitely my favorite part of the last game. I hope it's a fun game.

AC2 and Brotherhood did it for me - I loved all the activities and collectibles in Brotherhood.

Revelations takes the award for the best trailer in a video game - ever. inlove.gif

Algonquin Bridge

Assassin's Creed II.

When you've got a fully-explorable Florence and Venice, with numerous famous monuments lovingly re-created, along with a database to provide some historical context to each one you climb, you've got a winner.

My only complaint? That you can't change the draw distance on the PC version. That's where the game falls down a little for me. Other than that? Great all around.

Bro in the Hood was great fun, though I found the single, massive city of Rome to be incredibly overwhelming at first. Beautiful without a doubt, but overwhelming.

Assassin's Creed II seems to tick most of the boxes to me, it was brilliant in nearly every way and is almost certainly one of my three favourite games of the current console generation (the others being Skyrim and Red Dead Redemption consecutively) due to the fact that it really made me feel as though I was in the 15th century Italian Renaissance.

To live through Ezio's younger years and experience all that he did was an amazing experience and it's also the game that got me the most excited about Desmond's modern day story, don't get me wrong it's still very interesting to me but I seriously thought that Desmond was most interesting in II, mainly due to the fact that I thought the next game would be based around the modern day with him as the primary protagonist.

Lastly they just did so much right with II, they left it just the right amount of time and trounced everyone's expectations of what to expect from an Assassin's Creed game. They gave you everything that you could want, awesome sequences with Leonardo Da Vinci himself, to leading small armies against towns to find templars and kill them, to hunting down the Pope in the Vatican there's just too many amazing moments in that game to count.

Though if I had to put a list together of my favourite to least favourite of the games it'd probably go something like this:

Assassin's Creed II - Revelations - Brotherhood - Assassin's Creed III - Assassin's Creed - Liberation - Bloodlines.

AC II is my favorite, I remember still playing it over Brotherhood and Revelations when both were out. I don't know, I just love the story and the gameplay doesn't feel old at all imo still today. Ezio was such an amazing character.

III would be the worst, and I gotta admit I never played the original Assassin's Creed.

Brotherhood had everything you need.

These different factions, Assassins to train, silent assassin missions, large war-like missions...a lot of side missions. Love this game.

I voted for II, although my vote may be a bit biased since it's my favourite game of all time anyway. There's just so many aspects about the game I truly love, in my opinion, it's one of the most flawless titles out there this generation.

The story was compelling, seeing Ezio's character mature and evolve as more of the tale was unfolded was enough to keep me hooked. Then there was the fascinating setting, which was superbly complimented by Jesper Kyd's brilliant soundtrack. I'm yet to see a more beautiful map than ACII's rendition of Venice. Not to mention that the glyphs and Assassination targets offered a nice change of pace. Unfortunately though, after the way the last couple of AC titles have turned out, it seems as though II may be the series concord moment.

The Synch part is good and bad, with it adding an extra challenge, but with some that can be annoying and hard as f*ck.

Full Synch isn't that bad to me. On my first playthroughs of Brotherhood and beyond, I usually disregard getting full synch if it requires me to go too much out of my way, and I just replay the missions after I'm done with the storyline if I wanted to get 100%. It has to be challenging otherwise the rewards would be devalued.

Getting 100% shouldn't be possible on a first-run, give-no-f*cks playthrough imo.
