XxPhillies26xX
Hello everyone and welcome to part 3 of the looking back at past series. In this topic we will discuss the characters of gta 4 and will R* release character trailers for gta 5. The character trailers were such a great idea, you really explored each character own personalty and background and it really made the characters felt believable. Hopefully R* will release character trailers for gta 5. I really thought it was a great marketing strategy it really got you excited to play as the protagonist like Niko, Johnny and Luis. If anyone hasn't seen these trailers. I recommend that you watch them. It will definitely give you a feel on what to expect from gta 5's cast. Here is the first batch of character trailers from gta 4 so enjoy ! The trailer I enjoyed the most was Niko. The music and the look and atmosphere had a dark and gritty vibe to it. Niko's past felt very believable as he narrates the trailer and talks about his dark past in some ways you felt sorry for Niko. R* did a great job capturing the look and feel of Niko. I'm expecting nothing but a flawless performance from Micheal, Trevor and Franklin in gta 5. Below is the 2nd batch of character trailers for the lost and damned and the ballad of gay tony and extras. XxPhillies26xX
Those were some excellent trailers. The trailer enjoyed the most was Yusuf Amir trailer, what a funny trailer especially when he sings Arab money you gotta love him . I hope he returns in gta 5 he was a highlight for the ballad of gay tony in my opinion. Below is Weazel news and LCPD recruitment. If you never saw those check them out those were funny trailers. Odd, because on the back of the GTA3 cover, I believe it says "Liberty City, USA. The worst place in America". or something like that. It may take a few times for that quote to pop up.
Honest Bill
Of all those characters Billy Grey was the only one who stood out to me as a well written and well acted character. He was enough of an asshole to hate, yet he wasn't too over the top and didn't come across as a caricature. I think he was the best GTA antagonist yet. and the best voice actor too in my opinion. I think Billy grey was a great character. He is one my top characters in gta 4. I agree his voice actor did a excellent job with him but I don't think he was the best voice actor. It definitely has to go to Niko in my opinion.

Niko's accent wasn't great though, and because of that he tended to try to over enunciate every word, which made him feel a little bit stilted in my opinion. I never understood why they didn't just get a real Serb to do it.

I heard originally they was going to have a Russian voice actor named Vladimir Mashkov who played in movies like Behind enemy lines for an example and niko was modeled after him. R* offered him a chance to voice as niko but he turned it down.

Nopheros
Nice trailers. I'm watching them again, after i've watched Michaels, Franklins and Trevors trailers. I have to say though that I think Michaels trailer is the best character trailer, atleast in my opinion. And also, bump.

Vagos MC
I felt the map was too small and too busy. Very crowded. It's hard to enjoy a good ride with cars hitting you.

SwitchBladeJones
I felt the map was too small and too busy. Very crowded. It's hard to enjoy a good ride with cars hitting you. For what it's worth, I think Liberty City really did capture that dense, gridlock feel of NYC. Just playing it again I had forgotten how accurate traffic can sometimes be. I got stuck in a traffic jam on an on-ramp. The taxis in Times Square are everywhere. I agree though, up to this point GTA San Andreas still created the most satisfying driving feel of any GTA game. There is nothing more fun than being out on the open highway flooring it the whole way and weaving in and out of traffic. Can't wait for this again in GTAV. The problem was... if you were riding a chopper on the highway, you would end up getting smashed in the side and you would fall right off. It pissed me off. _Kindled_
The music in Niko's trailer was great. I hope they have a Journey type radio station in GTA V . Edited July 22, 2013 by _Kindled_
