Kalvin
Hey guys, I've been wondering for a while, is my PC good or bad? because a lot of my friends say I have really crappy specs and I should get a whole new one. But I have no money so I have no hopes of upgrading this, but I want to know your opinion on it. My Specs are: Processor: Intel® Core2 Duo CPU, E7400 @ 2.80GHz 2.79 GHz. Installed memory (RAM): 2.00GB System type: 32-bit Operating System Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce 9500 GT. Mind you, games work pretty well on this with hardly any lag at all, things like the new Tomb Raider, Minecraft, Crysis 2, etc- All run at around 80-90 FPS at most. monster875.
if it works flawless with the stuff u use it for, then it's good enough and u wont need to upgrade
Master of San Andreas
If it runs games well you don't need to upgrade.
Ryan
It's out of date compare to modern standards. The core CPU's are 6 or 7 years old now, but like everyone else has said, if it does what you want it to, then there's no real need to upgrade. Stinky12
It's still a decent system. If your friends have Core i5 and i7 of course they're going to say, you got a crap system. There will be a new platform coming out this June (if there are no delays). It's Intel Haswell and it will run on the new socket 1150.
yoječ
It's pretty mediocre for today standards. But if it work well for ya... good for you

You can't because it's only a 32bit OS which can only handle up to 4GB RAM.

(he should anyways, 64 bit has always ran better imo)

yoječ
Upping the RAM to 8GB is a nonsense in his case, I'd much rather buy a new GPU.
Wolf68k
Your system seem fine for you. However compared to what you can get for as little as $500USD those specs are bad. I'm surprised about the Crysis2 at 80-90fps. What settings are you running at. Keep in mind that when most people say that sort of thing, more so when including a well known system hog like Crysis, other people start to assume the highest possible setting and from the sound of your specs I'd be very surprised you're doing that and 80-90fps from that game
Kalvin
It's mostly a mix of Medium and High settings on Crysis. Shine o' Vice | Vice City BETA Edition | Grand Theft Auto 3D
bread
I just bought a new laptop for my birthday and I definitely wanna run games like GTA IV and Battlefield 3. My question is, are the specs good enough? Windows 8 Core i7 3635 OM Nvidia GT640M GDDR5 1GB - Hybrid 8GB DDR3 1TB HDD I wanna run said games at full high settings at a 30-40+ FPS. Do you guys think it'll run at that kind of speed?
yoječ
Some games will, but definitely not all of them. I'm not sure about GTA4 and BF3.

The main thing holding you back is the graphics card, I think. I had a 9600GT for like 3 years, so I know the 9500 is probably still a decent card. If you wanted a good upgrade right now, I would suggest a Geforce 550TI or 650. Both can be found for around $100 USD. Anything more would be overkill, anything less wouldn't be really noticeable. Probably wouldn't hurt to bump your ram up to 4gb too, or plug in a usb drive to use as readyboost. I wouldn't replace the cpu until you can get a new motherboard that supports a newer chip (don't know if yours does or not, just assuming, lol)
