Willzy123 Posted March 6, 2013 Share Posted March 6, 2013 GTA4 had one and it played out the GTA4 story so well, it's probably my favourite story in a game (tied with The Walking Dead.) For those that don't know what the back story is in GTA4: Niko Bellic (the main protagonist) travels to Liberty City to find someone. Niko was a soldier in the Yugoslavian war. He fought along with 14 soldiers. One of them betrayed the squadron, and killed all of them apart from Niko and Florian Kravic, so the enemy gave the betrayer money to buy Heroin. Now, Niko came to Liberty City to find out who betrayed the group, out of the other two survivors. I want GTA V to incorporate a well written back story in some way. I can't give examples. I didn't even realise it was fully there until I played it for the second time, and im not one of these fools that skips cutscenes and doesn't pay attention to the story..... Michael turned to crime early while Trevor saw the military as his way out but came back even more messed up and violent then Michael. Trevor embraced the criminal life and never looked back while Michael is trying to settle down but gets sucked in after finding legit life to be just as immoral. Franklin is where Michael and Trevor used to be and is trying to make it out and Michael takes him under his wing. Michael will probably have the most involved backstory of any GTA protagonist based on his age, family & ties to crime in another city/state. Along with Michael's relationship with his family and his past ties with Trevor, I assume he will have a lot of back-story with the FIB, too (regarding his criminal past, witness protection). I will place a bet now that Michael is going to become the most interesting protagonist Rockstar has ever made, more so than Niko and John Marston.
