fnxrak
Aww, it crashed nicely but it disappeared when I tried to take a cop car from the impound! RAAAAAAGH! How do I get the Garage to open? Should I wait until a Police Vehicle arrives and use it to Jam the door open? It's a bitch you will get that sometimes. If you are using the a seasparrow or a maverick just park it really near the gate almost touching it, if done correctly you will make the gate open. If you can't do that try and get the police car from the impound, just try to keep your vision in the direction of the wrecked hydra. Waiting for a cop to arrive there won't be easy since the game spawns all the cops on the top of highway above you so no more cops will spawn unless sometimes they follow you from the roads nearby but that is rare. Even so it's not always that the hydra will remain there, sometimes the single opening or closing of the gate makes the hydra disapear, it's a bitch. To impound the hydra try a couple of times with cheats spawn the hydra ("jumpjet" for pc) and make it blowup in the impound then pratice with it. It's how I discovered it after noticing that no cops would follow me there and in other locations. The Impound it's just better than the doherty garage because it's easier to make the hydra fit, any big bump of the hydra on the walls of the impound will also make the hydra to most likely to vanish. Should I wait until a Police Vehicle arrives and use it to Jam the door open? Sometimes Hydra crashes into the garage door and opens it himself (I lolled a lot the first time I seen it ) If it's still closed and there are no cops nearby, open it from within with a cop car, but keep the camera on a wreck, it's important! lol232
I'll try that! Thanks! As soon as I impound-fix the Hydra I'm taking it to Doherty. I'm just too paranoid to I tried to use JUMPJET and get it from Impound to doherty it was easy. It perfectly fits with the Hotknife.
fnxrak
Make like you wish. I've saved the game more than 200 times after I got it, and everytime I returned to impound there it was the hydra and no trick needed to enter (although I did it anyway). Just do one thing repair it save the game with the hydra in the impound then go back for it, when exiting the impound keep the camera in the direction of the hydra even if there are wall in front of it. It will be a shame to loose the hydra after getting it in the impound and for me it's a waste of 2 good garage spaces. Again good luck
lol232
He-he-hay! I used cheats but I successfully delivered the Hydra. "Open the door with the Chopper" trick really works! I guess I'm ready for this now, all I have left is luck to make the Hydra crash. EDIT: f*ck! sh*t! DAMN! JUST WHEN I GOT IT IN THE IMPOUND NEAR THE SAVE SPOT IT DISAPPEARED! SHIIIIIT! Hah, you had it worse then me, I was 20m away from the spot, it happened to you when it needed to be repaired. Let's just hope that doesn't happen to me. EDIT: Didn't get the Hydra yet but... TROLOLO, I was dicking around the Airport and Hydra stared shooting at me, it's rocket curved and started turning back, as Hydra was slowly turning it destroyed itself buy it's own rocket. Honestly, this is fail and a win at the same time. A similar happened when Hydra missed me and hit the Police Maverick. I wrote some hints on Hydra in it's special topic (I've just saved it for the second time) Okay, I see, So turning off The Frame Limiter will help. Anyway, when I push it from the Back (Tail) It has a high frequency of disappearing. I prefer pushing it on it's Wings. Also, do you have your own Method of making the Hydra crash? Because that is pretty much the bitch of the entire acquiring. And this just gave me an idea - Low FPS Will make it hard for a vehicle for disappear right? I'll run GTA IV On Highest Graphics while acquiring the vehicle. That will definitely majorly decrease FPS.
roggan
Anyway, when I push it from the Back (Tail) It has a high frequency of disappearing.I prefer pushing it on it's Wings. You don't have to push it right from the back. You have to make it spin, which will not make it disappear. Also, do you have your own Method of making the Hydra crash?Because that is pretty much the bitch of the entire acquiring. My method is to take a Seasparrow from the Mulholland's roof and get to those bridges in SF. After each fail I reload the savegame. And this just gave me an idea - Low FPS Will make it hard for a vehicle for disappear right?I'll run GTA IV On Highest Graphics while acquiring the vehicle. That will definitely majorly decrease FPS. Partially right, it will decrease disappearing of wrecks at the saving zones (garages, parkings). But generally wrecks will disappear as stable as before when you do not observe them. lol232
About the spinning part - Okay, I'll give it a try. About your method - The problem is, I'm having trouble crashing the Hydra, I already have a Seasparrow on my Roof. About the Decreased FPS Part - That even gave me a better Idea - you can obtain Andromada with this trick! Heh, who knows, it might work .
roggan
About your method - The problem is, I'm having trouble crashing the Hydra, I already have a Seasparrow on my Roof. Well, it still seems more random than anything. But generally I prefer to hide behind these bridges and over the police station hoping that flying from the sea side Hydra will crash into the bridges or buildings around. roggan
This might be quite a request - but can you make a video of Hydra crashing near the impound, I wanna see your method. There it nothing special in it that would deserve another video. Besides that, both times I got the Hydra it was crashing far away from the impound and I pushed it there with an Enforcer, so it depends more on your skill and perseverance than on the luck to have it right near the gate. And, finally, I'm too lazy to make such a hard video right after I got the Hydra
lol232
I usually stand near the Black Triangular building above the broken highway and hope the hydra bounces off it to the impound... I do try to push it with an Enforcer if it's far away from the impound but cops always destroy me on my way. And I don't have luck getting the Hydra in... Because it's too big to get past. roggan
And I don't have luck getting the Hydra in... Because it's too big to get past. I pushed it to the grass and then over the fence, but sometimes it's a challenge too. roggan
Uhh, so how many % of times you succeed with the Hydra crashing? Well, it crashes everytime, but it depends on where it crashes, isn't it I think it crashes more or less suitable at 30-50% of time. And at 5-10% it crashes right to the area in front of the gate, I guess. If you mean how many % of times I had a success when pushing it with an Enforcer... Again, maybe 30-50%, but that's not a total success, sometimes of course I had some problems with it's vanishing inside etc
fnxrak
My first hydra I got where roggan is and my second one I got where lol232 is, but I had better luck "impounding" them on the second position, just today I got 6 of them in the impound area 3 of those inside the impound. That doesn't mean it won't work in roggan position, it's a matter of luck I guess. ###edit### Funny thing I just found videogames count as mission attempt. at least 3 of them, gonna try to find wich ones. roggan
OrionSR, I've got a question. As we all know, pilot's ratings in SA are next: | 0:00 - 0:05 | No Rating| 0:05 - 0:10 | Flyboy| 0:10 - 0:20 | Aircraftman| 0:20 - 0:30 | Pilot Officer| 0:30 - 1:00 | Corporal| 1:00 - 1:30 | Lieutenant| 1:30 - 2:00 | Sergeant| 2:00 - 2:30 | Captain| 2:30 - 3:00 | Biggs| 3:00 - 3:30 | Wedge| 3:30 - 4:00 | Red Baron| 4:00 - 4:30 | Goose| 4:30 - 5:00 | Viper| 5:00 - 6:00 | Jester| 6:00 - 7:00 | Chappy| 7:00 - 8:00 | Iceman| 8:00 - 9:00 | Maverick| 9:00 - 10:00 | Noops| 10:00 - 20:00 | Air Chief Marshal| 20:00 - 30:00 | Ace Since we are able now to get the maximum criminal rating in our master saves, why do not get the same pilot's one? I checked how it works by starting a new game and spawning a Seasparrow immeadiately. 5 minutes of flying and I'm Flyboy. Okay, so now I'm wondering, what do we have after 20 hours of flying since we have an 'Ace' after 30 minutes of it (by a glitch). And what will happen after 30 hours, because if we'd had nothing, there'd be no reason to write it 20:00 - 30:00 instead of just >20:00? And now the main question, how could I accelerate the process of pilot rankings' receiving. Accelerating both of game clock and game process with a trainer did nothing. I tried even changing the clock in Windows Maybe there are some artmoney or save editing tricks? Because I'd prefer to test it first then spending right away 20-30 hours with CJ inside the helicopter, giving him food once an hour like a damn tamagochi if you know what I mean
OrionSR
I am not very familiar with the Pilot's Ranking, or the Ace Glitch. As far as I can tell, the Pilot's ranking is based directly off the flight time. Flight time is stored in stat 169 (1/1000ths of a second). Changing stat 169 with the Japanese save editor (linked below) changed the Pilot ranking too, but I didn't get the same results that you listed. The save started with 2:17/Captain, which is correct. Set to 31:00/Maverick Set to 24:00/Maverick Set to 2:30/Ace So... (?) make of that what you will; I just ran a few tests to see what would happen. The save editor method should work just fine for several tests, but if you need to have greater control over the flight time you might want to consider locking the flight time to the game clock with CLEO and using a trainer to set the flight time for you. GTA:SA Save Game Editor v1.0 by Ryosuke: http://gtasamod.web.fc2.com/tool/sase/index.html *This editor has some odd quirks, so I don't trust it for editing my good saves, but it is an excellent save viewer and can easily make modifications not available with other tools. roggan
OrionSR, Thanks a lot! Experimentally I find out the next scale: | 0:00 - 0:05 | No Rating | 0:05 - 0:10 | Flyboy | 0:10 - 0:20 | Aircraftman | 0:20 - 0:30 | Pilot Officer | 0:30 - 1:00 | Corporal Ace | 1:00 - 1:30 | Lieutenant | 1:30 - 2:00 | Sergeant Ace | 2:00 - 2:30 | Captain | 2:30 - 3:00 | Biggs Ace | 3:00 - 3:30 | Wedge | 3:30 - 4:00 | Red Baron Ace | 4:00 - 4:30 | Maverick * | 4:30 - 5:00 | Ace | 5:00 - 5:30 | Maverick | 5:30 - 6:00 | Ace | 6:00 - 5:30 | Maverick * - From that place this ratings' scale goes absolutely nuts and changes every half-hour from Maverick to Ace and back again infinitely. I think the best choice is to get the first Maverick which will cost you 4 hours of real time. Not a challenge at all
lol232
Maybe... What if...Using the replay function where you were inside an Aircraft, the time increases? Maybe be fly an Aircraft for an hour every day (For 30 days, in this case)? Does the time Increase when you're just floating with a Helicopter or Hydra? IMO Trainer is definitely not worth it, Exploiting game glitches is great, it's still legit, but trainer is a third party program. And it's not legit... At all. Right now, I accidentally deleted the save where I was doing the Hydra, no big deal, I use all 8 Slots and I have the previous one where the only difference is that I didn't save in the Mulholland Safehouse. I will get the Rustler instead. Also, right now, I have 69 Safehouse visits. LOL. EDIT: Is the Noops pilot ranking named after Andrew Noops? The guy who flew the Dodo in GTA III for 176488 Seconds (49.02 Hours) back in 2004, before SA's Release? Edited March 18, 2013 by lol232
