Rockteur
I think it's a likely reason for the delay. I hope Rockstar did pee a little bit, I want the game to be as amazing as possible. Of course I will be in line at EB the night GTA V comes out, regardless of how it stacks up.

WhitValid
It's more likely that they are equivilant to the CEO's son in law who is guaranteed a job because that ho has to feed her kids and ain't no way he's going to do anything the first or eighth time he's told so you know delays

Ahh, another guy who is believing everything a company says. And btw maybe you don't remember anymore or you were too young, but IV was delayed for the same reasons like V has been: for "polishing", but IV was everything else than polished with this f*ckload of bugs. The Pizza Delivery Guy
I thought Watch Dogs creators would piss their pants whenever they saw anything GTA V related so they paid off R* to delay game?

What if Sony paid R* in part to help develop GTA V on there console asap in time for the PS4 launch? Is it possible to do this with in a year or at least by Christmas? Los Santos County Sheriff
I think it's a likely reason for the delay. I hope Rockstar did pee a little bit, I want the game to be as amazing as possible. Well, seeing as WATCHDOGS AND GTA ARE NOT THE SAME TYPE OF GAME I really doubt that R* wet themselves when they saw it. WD is a linear sandbox game and is more cerebral so I dont believe it will be in direct competition with GTA. Now i know your excited about GTA and i know your excited about WD but these stupid comparison threads are getting VERY tiresome.

They probably have a lot of faith in their game. Unlike 90% of their 'fans', which is a real shame. Signatures are dumb anyway.

jamieleng
Oh for crying out loud. WTF is wrong with some of you? Yeah R* pissed their pants when they saw WD & delayed it because...? Yeah, they took the game back to the drawing board so they could add some hacking features to the game, relocated it from Los Santos to Chicago, put in some slow motion shooting? Oh & GTA IV was "riddled with bugs". What bugs. The swingset glitch? Yeah that totally ruined the game for me. I remember being on a mission & decided to take a shortcut through the kids playground & whammo, there I was, flying 300 metres into the air. Totally ruined the game for me. Couldn't play it any longer & have never forgiven R* & their shoddy workmanship. Long live Ubisoft & their glitch free games, like AC3. What a flawless game that was. If they were scared wouldn't they avoid releasing their game relatively close to Watch Dogs?

Distrom
I find all this orgasmic hype for Watch_Dogs a bit exagerated, yes it looks very good, we almost don´t know anything about it, we even know more about GTA V, I don´t see any replayable value in the game, what Im I going to do once the story line is finnished? Download 5 DLCs? (remember we are talking about Ubisoft), I don´t think we could even do half of the things we will in GTA V. Technically they can´t be compared, the game is being manly developed for PC, PS4 and the next XBOX and then ported to the actuall gen consoles. Knife
They delayed IV too polish it more, yet it still had glitches. This delay means nothing. I'm pretty sure the delay for GTA IV was more than just glitches. I think the game simply didn't run properly. It needed serious optimisation to get 30 fps. That's why before the delay the funny watercolour filter didn't exist. Every game has some glitches because even with months of testing, it's still only a team of a few testers compared to millions of people all hammering the game and finding the flaws. If they released GTA IV in October in the state it was in, it would have been pretty darn bad.
Deffpony
Rockstar doesnt give a sh*t about Watch Dogs. Its not even in the same ballpark as far as genre. It would be like saying Rockstar was intimidated by AC. Watch Dogs looks like it will be a great game, but it wont be GTA, nothing can be GTA but GTA itself. This isnt fanboyism, its just true. They have created a certain feel that only comes with a GTA game, through their tone, humor, characters, and dialogue. Its not enought to simply be a sandbox game in a city to compete with what makes GTA so great
