Rockstar surprised me with the physics in IV and then further more in RDR, so I can't wait to see what they come up with next!

IV's driving physics were excellent. I personally hope there are only minor changes from IV's handling but that is least likely to happen. What a loss, most people didn't even have the skill to enjoy IV's handling properly.

I'm a little concerned about their "arcade" comment, but I'm sure they won't fudge it up. In all honesty I still prefer GTA IV's physics over any other game that I know of. Saw a video earlier of Sleeping Dog's driving mechanics...my god. They were..awful.

I also think GTA IV's running animations were way smoother than RDR's as well. Not sure what happened there.

I would like physics that when you accelerate, bends the fabric of the game, ripping apart the entirety, so i can hear the screams of women and children as my chariot of death banishes them all to the fiery depths of tartarus.

Oh, and the arcade-like physics of earlier games was cool too.

i heard that it pretty much the same handeling but they stick to the ground a little more. but if u flip you car or smash it good you can see little peices fly off it

I thought IV's was perfect spot on, then again I don't play many driving games.

I loved the physics in GTA IV, but sports cars were pretty unrealistic. R* only claimed that the cars will now stick a little better to the ground, and that's probably a good thing, because GTA IV was quite wonky with that. I mean it did greatly work with SUV's and stuff, but the fast cars just felt like floating over the surface, which wasn't exactly anywhere near realism.

Yeah, I can agree. The only fast cars that really stuck to the ground good were the Banshee and the Coquette.

Not even they stuck properly to the ground, it was quite hilarious how the rear axis always floated around like crazy, the Comet was the weirdest out of them all.

Always looked like the cars have some kind of ESP, but not really at the same time. It just didn't make sense at all to me. lol.gif

In my opinion, the car physics in GTA IV were f*cking superb and I simply loved them. It was simply joy to just pop in the game and drive around. I personally think the car physics should simply be carried over from GTA IV but I am not sure if that is going to happen. I hope its at least similar to GTA IV.

They never said it's going to be arcade, where do people come up with this BS ?

IV's physics were awesome, even though they had a somewhat-high learning curve. It's still harder to pull corners, but looking at the first GTA V trailer shows that they fixed that. It's looking a lot better.

All they need to do is use the IV's driving physics but tweak it up a bit. That is all.

That actually depends on what car you're driving. Some cars had understeer, others oversteer. Some were just precise at turning corners. Most of the vehicles I drove were easy to corner and pretty thrilling at times.
