AZAZEL
I'm all for some sort of dialogue volume control, but mainly because I feel the dialogue in games are often way too low compared to the SFX and music, making it difficult to make out what's being said. This is really bad in Skyrim, for example.
BUT THE BENZ
^yeah. A couple of games have that issue, but most do come with the options to balance things out fortunately. If R* could separate the dialogues from the SFX in the options to adjust I'd really appreciate that.
blowtorchrepair
I don't understand how parents buy their kids food from mac d's and sh*t like that, but they're scared of profanity in GTA...baffles my mindalso, I don't get how parents buy all those cancer-promoting technology devices for their kids, but they're scared of profanity in GTA...baffles my mind also, I don't get how parents allow their children to watch the NEWS on TV, but they're scared of profanity in GTA...baffles my mind Let me try and un-baffle your mind, at least for my situation, since you've brought these generalizations with you to my thread. We don't eat fast food, and don't feed our three-year old "mac d's and sh*t like that". My wife home makes crackers, bread, cake, marsh mellows, and other stuff I can't remember. What (purported) cancer promoting technologies are you referring to? Cell phones? My kid doesn't have one of those either, but I will let her play some games on my iphone from time to time My kid doesn't watch the NEWS on TV either. She's a bit young for that, but does love Dora, Diego, and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (come inside, it's fun inside) But, with news, reporting violence in a journalistic fashion is hardly comparable to a game with a main character that loudly blurts (sh*t! f*ck! f*ck ME! MOTHER f*ckER!) every time I bump into another vehicle when driving. It's not that I'm "scared" of the profanity... it's about having some choice and control of what the game will blurt out when I might be playing or demonstrating the game to someone who I know would not be impressed with the trash talk, or when my toddler might wander into the room briefly when I occasionally, not 24/7/365, play the game during the day time on the weekend. In response to Gregers08: You keep applying your perspective to my situation with some sort of mental block to not imagine mine or anyone else's situations being any other way than how you perceive it, or something. And, I was never asking for parenting advice, opinions, or approval from any of you, even though you've taken the Dr. Phil role with me, rather I was just floating whether or not a Voice Volume Control would be useful. If you think the idea sucks balls, then great. that's fine! really. in my OP from last week when i started off with the words about " I don't fear my child seeing the violence, etc. in the game" my complete thought was BECAUSE most of the time I can control when I engage in that activity in the game, and I'm talking about long after the story has been completed. I don't play the story over and over (repeat to infinity) like many here have described. I never even played though IV all the way the second time. But, I did nerd-out on the map many of hours while NOT banging ho's or watching the porn on TV at the dildo shop in Hove Beach, etc. One thing that I've learned from this forum is how differently we all play GTA and what it means to us. You just can't see it my way, it seems, but that will probably change with time. (getting other people's perspective)
BlackNoise
It's an automated email. Chances are it is an automated reply however, I've written R* before and never received any reply back from them. Does anyone else here have a recent response from R* that matches the one I posted verbatim? This is the response I received... Hey 'name removed', Thanks for the email. We can tell you're very eager for some details, but since we aren't releasing any new information right now we’re afraid we don't have an answer for you. Cheers, Rockstar Games
