this is a good post. interesting indeed! it's hard too... i LOVED V-Rock but it could have had SO MUCH MORE hair metal on it... like Poison, Ratt, METALLICA!!!!! there was so much missing from the era R* based it on. (1986)

 

i have to go with Liberty Rock only because the "Feeling" was there more so than V-Rock.

They are both really great, but I'm gonna say Liberty Rock Radio. I love all of the songs on it. My favorite Lynyrd Skynyrd song, "Saturday Night Special", is even on it.

Most of the rock I like wasn't included or came after the setting of Vice City.

V-Rock for me. When I hear the songs that were on V-Rock they always bring back the good old Vice City memories. The songs on Liberty Rock don't have the same effect. More the fault of the game than the playlist.

VRock all the way! VRock plays real, authentic heavy metal.

 

Accept, Slayer, Anthrax and others. Personally, I think that VRock of VCS is better than the Vice City one. However both VRocks have great playlists - f*cking hardcore!

 

LRR had some heavy metal in it, keyword "some." LRR plays alot of sissy songs. Love the DJ though, but still, Couzin Ed is cooler.

They both fit their respective eras very well, but Liberty Rock really nailed it for TLaD, especially with stuff like Skynyrd on there. Nice touch. But man, V-Rock was so cool with f*cking Slayer and Megadeth! Man I'm torn.

 

If only GTAIII would have saved the songs on Flashback for a station on Vice City, that soundtrack would have been perfectly complete!

V-Rock had more good songs. LRR didn't have many that were good... until TLaD and TBoGT, but i still prefer V-Rock.

I liked V-Rock from VC, but probably because I grew up with it. I never liked TLAD's version of LRR because of all the glam/hair metal, but at least it was an improvement from IV's rendition of it, which had nearly no classic rock on it.

Anyway, as much as I absolutely LOVE Maiden, Crue, Black Sabbath, and plenty more on LRR, they were a few gems in all that soft-rock pussy crap.

V-Rock in both Vice Cities were consistently good and really captured the era. People might complain about some glam, but at least it was the harder hitting glam, Kiss, Crue, David Lee Roth, not the ballady Poison/Whitesnake kind of garbage. But with that glam was a lot of thrash and just good ol' classic hard rock. Bring V-Rock to GTA V.

 

Oh, and TLaD LCHC wasn't my favorite, but you really felt like a bad motherf*cker riding a chopper in the thunder and lightning to Dead Embryonic Cells, it really captured the vibe of that game.

Not a fan of these kinds of Rock, but I think LRR was better. VC's radio didn't catch my taste at all (except Wildstyle and Fresh FM). KGBH will be the best black market rock radio station
