assmillk
Ok, so i have had problems with my internet cutting out before, but it has recently gotten significantly worse over the past couple weeks. My modem is a webstar, it has send and receive lights which flash when everything is working properly, but they will stop flashing randomly and will cause my internet to cut out, and my phone line. It stays off for about 30 seconds before it turns its self back on. I don't know if it's just me overworking my computer? It only happens when i play runescape,(yes i know gay) , but it sometimes happens when im not. Never has it done this with any computer games. I am hesitant to call my isp about the problem, because i'm afraid they'll just tell me it's my computers fault and then charge me for nothing. Could it be my really old d-link router causing the trouble? it's a d link DI 524. Please any helpful info is greatly appreciated. thank you Edited March 5, 2013 by assmillk
Trund
DSL or Cable? If it's DSL maybe it's losing the synchronisation.

Stinky12
You'll need to do the process of elimination to find out what's causing the problem. Connect computer directly to router and see if problem still exist or not. Next connect the router, and try again. If the problem comes up after the router is connected, then it could be your router. Best way to test out is to disconnect all other devices as you don't want anything to interfere, while you're testing.
Trund
I have absolutely no experience with cable. Anyways, the most common reasons for this are either bad cables, bad hardware or a problem on the provider site. I also found this: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r18418528-...ing-connections From what I gathered this seems to be exactly the problem you have? By the way I don't think it's your router causing this problem, it shouldn't cause your modem to reboot.
