LotusRIP Posted March 5, 2013 Share Posted March 5, 2013 I just noticed Playstation Facebook put up the new trailer for Assassins Creed IV with a release date of October 31st. The game will be release on PS3 and PS4. That could potentially mean the PS4 will be out by October 31st... when V is being released about 10~ days before October... what does this mean for a next gen release? I have a feeling most the people saying that around here are just teenagers living at home who can't afford a new console, they're scared because they know they can't afford a PS4 and will get all jealous and angry at the rest of us who can. Not relating to you ofcourse, you're a cool guy, but just saying... It seems unlikely but I don't think it's completely impossible that they double up and do a next-gen release. I do think a vast majority of the anti-nextgen comments come from the teens. Not only that though. It was confirmed to be launching on PS3 and 360 by the Newswire and Dan Houser himself. There's a chance of a port down the road, but it seems unlikely to me. Secura Posted March 5, 2013 Share Posted March 5, 2013 I doubt that it'll be released on the same day as Assassin's Creed IV, but I don't think it's too out of the ordinary to suggest that it may release at some point in early October late September, that ties in quite well with Grand Theft Auto V's release date so I'm hazarding a guess that we're either going to see a very quick port or that they've been working on the next generation version for quite some time. Whatever the case may be it's fairly safe to assume that we'll have Grand Theft Auto V on the PlayStation 4 by the end of the year, it's just a matter of what Rockstar have been prioritising as their main focus. I think that the inclusion of a PlayStation 4 day one release may even get PC players excited seeing as they could quite easily port the PlayStation 4 version of the game onto the PC thanks to their systems new hardware. All of this though only holds up so long as Assassin's Creed IV doesn't get delayed for some reason or another in the coming months, if it does then it's certainly a possibility that Sony are going to want to release this new console as close to December as possible, maybe even mid to late November, though that might be pushing it a bit. Nevertheless at the moment it seems quite likely that both a PC port and a PlayStation 4 version of the game will be announced very, very soon. The install base would be way too small, and there are millions upon millions of people who own current gen consoles, so it only makes sense to serve the latter group. He's not being a prick, those are my exact thought too. IMO i think the game was dekayed to be devloped on ps4 as well, people saying it has no correlation sound to me like they're not ready to buy the ps4.
