King Andreas
Why do stolen games have so many synonyms? ("Warez", "Cracked", "Pirated", "Torrent" "Ripped") Edited June 23, 2013 by King Andreas
lil weasel
All easily available by GOOGLE or BING. CRACKED: The thief has cracked the security code to allow playing the game without the ‘key’. WAREZ: Is a leetspeak plural form of ware, short for computer software. Thus it is intended to be pronounced like the word wares, /ˈwɛərz/, but people commonly mispronounce the e, /ˈwɑrɛz/, Torrent: In the BitTorrent file distribution system, a torrent file is a computer file that contains metadata about files and folders to be distributed Ripped: Is when a person having an original medium copies data (digital or analog) for use other than the copyright license. Pirated: Should be self evident.
AuSsIeThUnDeR36
At start of mission Stowaway, it shows some guy standing up in back of a black Bobcat and CJ says 'Aah what Toreno up to now?' then he says 'I'm feeling a little exposed here!' then hides. Was that Toreno in the back of the Bobcat or was CJ just saying that because he saw all those guys in suits arriving?
lil weasel
Yes, it was just a bunch of 'competing' agency men. Toreno says that when he sneaks up behind CJ during the rest of that cut-scene.

The Odyssey
In the mission Monster Carl said to an unnamed person "First, what's a GPS, 2nd, fail what, and 3rd, who the hell are you?" My question is Who the hell was he?
lil weasel
In the mission Monster Carl said to an unnamed person [...] Who the hell was he? He is called an 'Un-named' NPC.
King Andreas
Shall you encounter difficulty describing an unnamed character, you can refer to this: http://www.codemasters-project.net/members...s/Peddigits.htm where each NPC is (minus the main characters) thoroughly described. A question of my own: Why do Aztecas & Vagos (two rivals) drive Hermes'?
Frenzzy
That car is assigned to them. Or maybe Rockstar's mistake.
King Andreas
That car is assigned to them. Or maybe Rockstar's mistake. Rival gangs driving the same car makes about as much sense as them gesturing the same hand signs, don't you agree?
Pyrrhic
No I do not agree. So what if they drive the same vehicle? Maybe they had a sale so both gangs took the opportunity to buy up on them.
lil weasel
Right. In real life, why did one social group drive 'Chebbies' and another ethnic group (used to) drive Cadillac's? There is absolutely no reason for a particular vehicle to be the 'personal' property of a 'group'. The game has limitations because of what the Director of the story gave the programmers, not an economic social choice of the NPCs. There are some things that 'Just Are'. Pyrrhic
Why does Rockstar ignore 99% of the questions I ask them, including this one? Because the game is almost 10 years old and they don't care whether you know the answer or not.
chapapote
I don't think they have any kind of relationship, seeing as they live in different cities, separated by lots of kilometres. The Rifas are involved in the drug trade whereas Aztecas are involved with gunrunning. Nonetheless, they'll attack each other on sight if you code or glitch a shared territory. I thought the Aztecas were involved in illegal street racing and such, not gunrunning. Did anybody happen to notice that CJ mentions Kane, the guy from Los Sepulcros at some times when he sings random songs when you're afk? There's a song in Playback FM called "Warm it up, Kane". He's just singing that song. Edited July 6, 2013 by chapapote
King Andreas
I thought the Aztecas were involved in illegal street racing and such, not gunrunning. Cesar is the only Azteca associate I recall seeing participate in illegal street racing. Gangs typically have a trade; the Aztecas aren't involved with drugs, so my guess is their trade is gunrunning. It's also my guess the Catalyst gun train was depicted to be driven by the Aztecas. Anyway, a question of my own: why does the Pizza stack shopkeeper say: "I feel sorry for your dad" to Ryder?
thisdjjdasiaa
hey guys idk if this is the right thread to ask? but "new topic" + "new poll" dont work + i would really appreciate it if someone could just clear this up: i forgot, when doing the final LS missions, should i finish "CJ" set of missions or "Sweet" set of missions first? tnx! lil weasel
[...] [W]hen doing the final LS missions, should i finish "CJ" set of missions or "Sweet" set of missions first? Your choice. Space Cowboy
He killed his dad? No, of course not. Other than this The clerk at the pizza shop says to Ryder "I feel sorry for your dad", similar to what a clerk says to a character in the beginning of the movie "Menace II Society". I dont know anything. Maybe he is suggesting that his dad was small too..I'm not sure.
thisdjjdasiaa
hey whats the thing with the mission "los desperados"? i recruit 2 ppl, they jump out + sprint in the opposite direction,, when i approach the station, destination marker disappears [this usually happens around the end of CJ + cesar dialogue], when i approach the gang members nothing happens/mission doesn't pick up, is it a glitch or? i tried looking it up but only thing that referenced this was some post saying something like "just drive fast so yr members don't get a chance to go out"? but yea i also have this other issue mission basically ends before i can even reach the station... lil weasel
The easy way around it is for CJ and Cesar to drive to the Station and recruit from gang members hanging out there. Presuming of course you took over the zones there.

Space Cowboy
Rockstar probably wanted to save a bit money, this way they didn't have to hire another person. BTW I got question too, why does the biker drug dealer only appears at very beginning as soon as you start the game (at least on PC). Is there any explanation for that? I suppose he was intended to appear in SF since he is quite frequent there on zones which have been created by territory glitches/modding the game.
OrionSR
Well, a partial explanation is that the zones types don't get set until near the end of the mission with Tenpenny driving CJ around town, so I guess there's a chance of unusual peds to spawn. Still, I don't know why the biker dealer appears in LS when I can't get him to spawn anywhere outside of SF no matter how I set the zone properties.
King Andreas
No unusual peds spawn in the beginning on the PS2. The biker criminal, yes; the biker dealer, no; the biker with the red bandana, no. I thought the Unused Hispanic Dealer would spawn in glitched LV territories but no. For that, game alterations are in order. Question of my own: Why can't you get unused Gang 9 & 10 as your "least favorite" gang? The rest: Ballas, Vagos, Aztecas, Rifas, Da Nang, Triads, Mafia, and even Grove can be your least favorite. Edited January 3, 2014 by King Andreas
Space Cowboy
I think it has something to do with that they don't have proper in game name and ped models (they look indentical to Aztecas). I think all gangs even Mafia have in game name, but gang 9 & 10 are clearly unfinished hence why they don't appear in stats. Just my thought. OG Viking
Why can't you get Unused Gang 9 & 10 as your "least favorite" gang? The rest: Ballas, Vagos, Aztecas, Rifas, Da Nang, Triads, Mafia, and even Grove can be your least favorite. Because you don't kill members of the unused gangs. When it says that your least favorite gang is gang A, it is because you have killed more members of gang A.
