There will be a GTA VI much more larger, much more bigger, much more beautiful.

Given the trend of increasing development time for GTA games, maybe Rockstar should just start developing GTA 6 for Xbox 1440 and PS5 now, so they will actually have a game in time for that generation.

I'm not sure if I like the timing of GTA V. I think they waited to late. If you think about it, a possible 2011 RELEASE would have made much more sense. Next Gen wasn't even the window and they could have released a year of DLC. Then, they could have used the dev kit band started the next GTA after V.

I don't quite understand what is to be disappointed about. next gen isn't what makes or breaks a game. Why can't people ever look beyond the graphics and realise there is so much more than goes in to making a great game.

 

In the end it won't matter, GTA5 next gen or GTA6, we still eventually get a next gen GTA. Having said that I admit to being a mostly PC gamer so it's always next gen for me.

 

On the topic of consoles and next gen being more PC like that ever, I am not sure thats a good thing. In an effort to continually outdo each other MS and Sony have certainly pushed more and more PC features in to consoles. Hard drives etc seemed like a good idea but they also have the downside of also meaning games released on consoles loaded with bugs just like PC, because they can always patch the sucker later.

 

Imo the reasons for buying a console over a PC are slowly being eroded away. When consoles first arrived on the scene they were popular for a few reasons. Sure the price was a big part of this but so was the ease in which you could put the CD in and just start playing, no stuffing about downloading patches every few weeks because the game shipped half finished, on consoles it had to work. As far as I can tell the only good reason for buying the newer consoles is price, and from memory the original price of a PS3 when it was brand new was more expensive than some PC's at the time.

 

So a PS4, Xbox whatever, I can't see a good reason to buy one apart from price. Everything else that made them worthwhile is gone.

It takes roughly 2-3 years before a console is an everyday thing, If they released it now, like maybe 5, possibly(and we're pushing it as is.) 7 people would buy it?

 

Why waste the extra resources and man-power that enough people that you can count them all on one hand would buy, When those resources and man-power can be put towards improving the game.

 

Besides, I don't really care, And I'm uber confused as why most people do care?(Seriously, A f*cking explanation would be fantastic.)

And it'll still suck, probably. Ubisoft have lost their way. Watchdogs looks great, but i suspect it'll be boring.

 

I'll be relieved if GTA V isn't on next gen consoles; I won't be buying one yet.

I'm not disappointed by it at all. It is essential for Rockstar to concentrate on the current gen consoles for release because that is where the money and audience is. The PC petition numbers are high, but not compared to what it can sell on console. The next gen consoles wont be making big money on games until late 2014, so spending money to port to next generation consoles and utilise all the plus points may not be a good ratio to the money they make from it. It's completely safe and very smart releasing on current gen, most gamers have a current gen console, and almost everyone who plays games is going to buy this game, it will sell more than any other GTA title because of that, IV did really well and that was at the beginning of the console generation lifecycle.

 

Rockstar are stubborn and I can only see GTA V coming out for current gen consoles this year. It may reach out to PC and next gen next year when a lot of money is made and they have ensured that everyone who plays PC and will buy next gen tech has already bought it on current-gen, that way, twice the amount of money is made. Under no circumstance are they going to announce a PC version until a few months after GTA V releases on console, to ensure the above, twice the money from some gamers.

It can't come out for next-gen right away because GTA V dosen't come out until September and Playstation 4 comes out in November but Xbox 720 still has no word its been mentioned once by Microsoft-"It is still in development". But maybe it will re-release for PS4 and 720

No, because I'm not buying the next gen. And if I do it wont be for about 3 years. I just got Xbox 360 in 2011, and PS2 in late 2002. I'll never pay the price a system is when its released. Honestly, I'm surprised many do considering everyone complains about lack of money these days.

A little disappointing, but not majorly. As of right now I'm "interested" in the PS4. But with so many great games coming out this year for the PS3, even if I could afford it, I couldn't justify buying a PS4 with all the great games just released on PS3.

 

If a PS4 version was announced before release, I may hold off for when I finally take the plunge with PS4, just as I'm doing with Watch Dogs. The way I see it is if there is a noticable difference between current and next gen versions, I will inevitably go next gen, so I'll wait till I do, then I can at least get those games straight away and have something good to play.

Rockstar wouldn't sell nearly as many copies of the game for next-gen consoles as they would for the current systems. Not right away, that is. Why port your game over to the next gen consoles when everyone already owns an xbox 360? It usually takes a couple years for new consoles to really start selling anyway, and I doubt Rockstar is willing to risk the idea that everyone will run out to buy a $500 machine just so they can play GTA V. Maybe I would, but not the casual gamer, and casual gamers make up for a lot of GTA sales.
