It's early March 2013, next-generations consoles release in Christmas time and GTA V will release in September - topics regarding GTA V on next-gen systems will constantly appear in the next months. Rockstar will very likely stay quiet about the game until the end of spring or early summer so we have nothing new to discuss until then and that's the reason why that is one of the most important topics for the next months. I'm pretty sure there was a semi-official topic for next-gen GTA V discussion. *edit* I couldn't find it, but there needs to be one. JonRenemy Posted March 5, 2013 Share Posted March 5, 2013 Let's bear in mind folks that Assassin's Creed IV is coming out on NOVEMBER 1st which is likely to be ahead of the release of next gen consoles, but it is also confirmed to be coming out on those too. Everyone's talking about this as if it's unheard of between console crossover generation periods.. but it makes PERFECT financial sense. Those who can afford/will buy anyway, a next-gen console, will then buy the latest version of a game. Those who don't care will buy it for their current PS3 or X360 And then there's the win win whereby people buy the current gen version and then buy the new one. I'm still not saying it's 100% happening but it seems likely that to maximise potential, R* will release this over both generations like Ubisoft are doing. Us in in reality need to give up on the ones who still believe the world is flat, Rockstar has STATED on the NEWSWIRE the two Trailers were done on a PS3 and they have stated this is a PS3 and XBox360 Release. History repeats itself and GTAV is the ps3 as San Andreas was to the PS2 People can wish and hope all they want. We just cant make them see reality. I see countless mentions of watchdogs or ubisoft these people are NOT ROCKSTAR and just because one is making a game cross platform does NOT mean rockstar is, I am sure if they were they would have mentioned it by now to expand sales and preorders. In the case of AC4 being on the PS4, content manager Carston Myhill said that the difference between current and next gen AC4 will be: “For PS4, the primary difference is the enhanced graphics, the enhanced visuals” VG24/7 Now I can imagine R* developing GTA V too on the PS4/720 to achieve this upgrade and help Sony/MS boost sales this Holiday, or at least by Spring next year. R* can't comment on next gen games until there formally announced. Now that the PS4 is public, MS will soon follow. It just sounds and looks about right, doesn't it? Rockstar will want to do this in order to maximize profit.... not to mention V will need DLC (not in scale as BoGT or TLaD though) and some future. When we talk about V, we are talking about Grand Theft Auto franchise's future as a whole... and no don't even attempt to use VI argument, it's such distant future that even God couldn't foresee it. They'll do what Watch Dogs is doing, and release on both Current-Gen as well as Next-Gen. Tony Hawks Project 8 and Proving Ground were released on both PS2/PS3 for instance, and everything was fine. The Next-Gen consoles (at the time, being Xbox & PS3) did have updated graphics/physics, but they were almost identical games to the previous generation of consoles. I think Rockstar will definitely be able to pull-off releasing on both generations, and I doubt there'll be much difference. Updated graphics, higher frame-rate as the consoles are more advanced, but that's about it. Euphoria physics is a given, as opposed to the Tony Hawk games having different physics (Tony Hawk on PS2 had pre-set animations, Xbox 360/PS3 had ragdoll physics). I'm also certain that Rockstar being a huge corporation, were well aware of PS3's release way before the general public were told. Guaranteed they're also aware of Xbox's new console being released. It's blatantly obvious that both Current-Gen & Next-Gen Grand Theft Auto's are being made alongside one-another. Why they'd refuse to admit it is beyond me, they've definitely got their reasons. These people will believe what they want no matter how much its been set in stone. I think if they were going to announce PS4 they would. Obviously its current gen only and they cannot accept that. I may of gotten it mixed up with Watch Dogs So what do I mean by this? As GTA V is a big game coming out at the very very end of the 7th Generation Console life cycle, and how a PC version most likely will happen with in the next year of the release, don't you think it could be a possibility that the PC version's enhancements may also appear in a next gen port? (if there is a Wii U version, it will probably look a little better than the PC with Max settings, the PS4, and the next Xbox.) Anyways, when the PC port is announced, I could very well see a PS4 and a Xbox "720" version. Even though they have held off info on PC ports till after release in the past, I see them holding off the PC version for this title so the PC version can be able to have the graphics the next gen console version does or even better on higher end PC's. If they made a version of GTAV for PC like they did with MAX PAYNE3, and everything points to that even without any confirmations and being that the most reasonable thing to do after their past experiences, that could have been done with the Next Gen in mind. If there is a proper PC version it will be out for Next Gen Consoles for sure, since the conversion will be easier, but if it's only the Current Gen version and PC is another lame port, it won't be ported for Next Gen because such move would be completely retarded, and Rockstar isn't that stupid.
