My comment about the troll was that you all decided to de-rail a topic about what genitalia this person has when all the post contained was a question. This is hardly trolling and would have been dealt with if it was. Continuing to bate someone into it is just turning a topic into crap, whether we see it all the time or not. What else is there to discuss at present? These topics generally die on their own since people are fed up of talking about the same thing.

I think it would be a fine idea to have a female protag in some future GTAV DLC. We have had to get acquainted and adjust to each new GTA protag and their story every time. Believe it or not, I am pretty sure we could adjust to a female protag as well.

 

Since GTAV has protag switching, it seems like we all will have to be flexible anyway regarding any immersive role identification with one of the protags. The experience or mindset we get with GTAV switching should make it even easier to adjust to a female in a DLC story.

Had that same thought when I saw the thread. About ready to smash my face into the keys.

But to answer this, yes, I wouldn't mind it at all, because the last thing I care about when watching a story unfold is someone's sex.

To add to this, no matter the sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or ethnic background, I would still play the character, hell, diversifying the characters would actually add more to the character's struggles and would ultimately add to the story. It would embed us deeper into the story.

ok check it out, i just said this in another thread, Zombie DLC with a apocalyptic map (buildings, roads destroyed...ect) and 3 new protags 1 being a Female. I think it could work out best that way as opposed to a crime based setting. And the point of the game is to survive random encounters such as non infected animals, other hostile humans that shoot first and ask questions last and of course zombies, while trying to gather supplies and ammo (missions). At least thats my opinion.

They already said they won't do large story based DLC like the GTA IV episodes. We don't actually know what we're gonna get, but I can guarantee you it won't be big DLC with new protags and stories.

 

Probably Los Santos updates with new cars, some areas updated, built up, new weapons, maybe a few new missions and minigames for the current protags, it'll be stuff aimed at extending the life of GTA V, without adding massive new stories and new protags or new cities/maps.

 

And I'm happy with that. I'd rather have a fully fleshed out game worth my $60 than a lot of the games we're getting nowadays where half (or more) of the game is cut out and put out in multiple $20 DLC Increments ALA Mass Effect 3.

 

I am honestly f*cking tired of this DLC culture gaming has moved into.

I sincerely hope they won't have female characters in the multiplayer. OR that if they put'em in the game, to at least not make their hitbox that much smaller and also the character movement faster. In Max Payne 3's multiplayer you run into females so often, cause they're the most powerful ones. since they're more difficult to hit. Nothing challenging about that, it's like cheating if you ask me. And when you asked those people to choose a male avatar for once they'd say OH YOU A HOMOPHOBE....awesome logic

 

edit: also, female protags in GTA fit as much as women fit into western movies as protags. barely, to not at all.

Now, saying that, people will come back with evidence of crazy women that could bein GTA. I don't care. It's rare. Many strange things happen in real life, that I don't want in GTA like earthquakes or whatever.

 

I'd be much more immersed playing as a male. Gaming and GTA is generally a male-orientated game. I don't feel sorry for female gamers playing GTA with male-protagonists. That's life. This how we evolved to. 99% or bands out there are male and women like it. It's a male dominated thing and it works like that. Trying to break some mould wouldn't be for me.

 

And the dudes that pick females because they think it's hot must be little teenagers. I really don't see the point in that. It's sad.

True dat Mr. Pink. For that exact reason I don't use female avatars in MP3's mulitplayer, even though seemingly 90 % of players do since they're overpowered. It just ruins a big aspect of the game for me, which is authenticity.

The only way Rockstar could really pull off a female protag is if the whole thing was about females fitting in to a male dominated world of crime. You'd have to watch some back-story rape or some sort of trigger to send her on a destructive path, Maybe her father was murdered by his own gang for cash and she avenges his death but that seems too cliched for me. Then for all the free-roam messing around, I just could engage in a female being the boss and slapping people and stealing them.

 

If there was a female in GTA, I'd probably like her to be like this..haha.

It's funny that guys want to play as women and when given a plausible case it gets rejected as being sexist or something similar.

 

Think of the psychology behind it. If you had a female car-jacking and doing all sorts like flying planes and blowing sh*t up. What would she be to make her be doing the things mainly boys do? Gang banging? Would she be looking for a Father-figure in the wrong crowd? Is she a masculine lesbian that prefers hanging out with dudes? At best maybe she is a tom-boy. But the guys who want to play as a female wont be in to that. They'll want some blonde haired, big-breasted sexy woman which would just make me cringe.

The idea is unique in a way, but a horrible idea. Let's face it, the demographic of people who play Grand Theft Auto aren't going to want to play as woman. Most players are going to want to play as a "Superior male", so to speak. It's really hard to imagine women doing the things that the male protagonists have done (Even if that is sexist). I suppose it has something to do with the fragile features of a woman. Well, most women. If someone wants to play as a woman, they can play a female player model in GTA V's multiplayer.

quit being a bitch gta has taken up countless hours of all our lives you got much more enjoyment out of gta than most any other game especially the few that didn't live up to the hype(ac3). gta has alot more content that alot of other games honestly. you're probably easily going to get 100's of hours put in V so shut up and quit acting like a little more for content they honestly didn't even have to give is a bad thing. and i don't want a woman protag, name one actual real life woman that could realalistically do everything the gta protags do it has to be believable and women aren't going to risk there life in a firefight, fist fight, be a getaway driver(gta mini van chase), or countless other things. women in gta just for the sake of having equality is stupid do you want to listen to lady gaga because most of the people in the music industry are men?
