This Timeline highlights key events in the history of this video game. October 25th 2011 Grand Theft Auto V is officially announced. On twitter they linked to the official website of Rockstar Games. The Site had the logo of GTA V and details of the trailer being released on 2nd November 2011 2nd November 2011 The first trailer of Grand Theft Auto V is released. The trailer confirmed that the game is set in Los Santos and its surrounding areas, and showed some characters of the game. 3rd November 2011 Rockstar Games gave the first statement about GTA V on their newswire. ROCKSTAR GAMES' STATEMENT "We are very proud to officially announce that Grand Theft Auto V is in full development. Developed by series creator Rockstar North, Grand Theft Auto V heads to the city of Los Santos and surrounding hills, countryside and beaches in the largest and most ambitious game Rockstar has yet created. " 13th February 2012 Rockstar Games said that there will be more info on GTA V in a few months time, Here is what they said Link: Asked & Answered: Max Payne 3 and More... 22nd March 2012 In an interview to IGN, Dan Houser confirmed that GTA V too will feture 'CREWS', As Max Payne 3 did. Link: Interview with IGN 12th July 2012 Rockstar Games released the first two screenshots of GTA V on thier Asked and Answered. Link: Asked and Answered 12th july 2012 20th August 2012 Rockstar Games released 3 screenshots under the title 'Transport'. The Screenshots confirmed that bicycles are back, players can fly fighter jets. 22nd August 2012 Rockstar Games released 3 screenshots of the game, feturing leisure activities, Such as Dirt Bike Racing, Parachuting and Tennis. 24th August 2012 Rockstar Games again released 4 all new screenshots of GTA V. These screenshots were given the title 'BUSINESS'. This Screenshots show Car Stealing type of business. This screenshot points to a farming related business or drug trafficking The 3rd screenshort features a infernus type of car, and behind the car are cops. In the screenshot you can see a man holding a assault rifle with a laser attached to it. This points that GTA V might have weapon customisations. 11th October 2012 Editor of Game Informer, Andy Mcnamara posted on twitter that Game Informer's December Issue will preview GTA V. Rockstar also promised to "lots of info" to be released next month. 26th October 2012 Andy McNamara, Editor-in-Chief of Game Informer announced in the Game Informer's official website that Game Informer's Cover of the issue previewing GTA V will be revealed. The didgital issue will be availible for download later on the same day. Game Informer also said that the preview is of 18 pages. Below is the link to the announcement page. Game Informer's Gta V preview announcement 27th October 2012 A Retail poster of GTA V was leaked by a polish GTA fan site. The artwork also pointed that the game is releasing during Spring 2013. The pics also showed that the game is relasing for PS3 and XBOX 360 platforms. The PC platform wasnt mentioned. 30th October 2012 A UK Video Game retailer posted some pics containing 2 never seen artworks of the Game. Later on the same day Rockstar Games confirmed that GTA V will be releasing in Spring 2013. With that they also released a new artwork of the game. This time too we saw that the game was releasing on PS3 and XBOX 360. Pc version wasnt mentioned. They also said thet the game will be availible for preorder from 5th November 2012. 1st November 2012 Some promotional items and a letter to retailers from Rockstar Games were leaked 7th November 2012 A new screenshot of GTA V was leaked. 8th November 2012 Game Informer's Cover was revealed as promised by Game Informer. The cover showed the three main characters of the game, which were seen in earlier screenshots and the first trailer. Later on the same day The Game Informer preview was availible which gave lots of information of the game along with 27 screenshots. The preview confirmed that there will be 3 protagonists instead of 1 The GTA V world will be the largest world in the history of Rockstar Games. Each protagonist has its own story line. proud2bsikh Posted March 2, 2013 Author Share Posted March 2, 2013 4th January 2013 Rockstar Games released 2 new screenshots and a artwork of the game. 26th January 2013 A new artwork was leaked by a member of GTA Forums. 31st January 2013 Rockstar Games issued a statement on their newswire that GTA V will be delayed and will be releasing on 17th September 2013 Statement:- "Dear all, Today, we have an official release date to share with you: Grand Theft Auto V will arrive in stores on September 17, 2013. We know this is about four months later than originally planned and we know that this short delay will come as a disappointment to many of you, but, trust us, it will be worth the extra time. GTAV is a massively ambitious and complex game and it simply needs a little more polish to be of the standard we and, more importantly, you require. To all Grand Theft Auto fans, please accept our apologies for the delay, and our promise that the entire team here is working very hard to make the game all it can be. This game shoulda dropped late 2012 but yet here we are still trying to decipher R*'s B.S. tyime estimates. Clown shoes. Rockstar have created some of the most successful, critically acclaimed, and iconic games ever. V is their most ambitious project ever. We know that they work like dogs. What he was trying to say is essentially that Rockstar could pick up a rock using their hands and it'll be over and done with. Instead, they choose to find the most complicated ways and eventually, the rock is in their hands. Instead of hiring a guy to just pick up the Rock, they hire someone to pick it up half way, and then someone to support the rock and then finally someone to move the Rock to their hands. The mismanagement. Why does he say this? Well, the article from apparent "insiders" that have worked for Rockstar have stated that the same work gets handled twice or even three times because the first guy never does it right.
