goh13
Well you know the Australian government these days Well you know the Australian government isn't really what's keeping Rockstar on it's leash. They can do whatever the f*ck they want. In fact, I can't care less when it comes to the GTA series being released or not in Australia I am pretty sure people down under care A LOT about GTA. Try to think of them first, big guy.

Mister Pink
I'd love some extreme violence too. Not that I think a good game or a good film must rely on it. But, in a crime game like GTA, I do want violence to be enough to make me almost feel bad for the guy I had to kill. I want to be shocked. I want Rockstar to make me go "Wow, can't believe they added that." RUBBΣR░J♢HNNY (スオッ)
Honest Bill
I'm not really that bothered about the gore. But i do like it to be portrayed realistically and have more of an impact. I don't want the gravity of it to be diluted.

ugotsmoked
I want REALISM...I am an adult and I can handle it. I have sat thru twilight and freddie got fingered. Beheading a nun with piano wire while I throw a load of knuckle children in her dirty billows will not phase me one bit.

AtomicPunk
Rockstar should just do it right and hire Tarantino as a game violence consultant. No. Tarantino is a washed-up loser anymore. He lost his creative edge long ago. Now he's a weinstien lapdog--he does what he's told. I'd rather have the team who wrote the game: The Walking Dead. I want substance. Something brilliant and explosive.

UncleD
I'm all for bloodbaths and explosions. But using someones skull as a soup-bowl. That is pretty dumb. Its a crime game, not a horror game. Decapitations is as far as I'd take it. But mutilations and sh*t don't belong in GTA. The game is about crime and making money, not being a retarded gore-hungry psychopaths. 36Chambers
Max Payne 3 gore is all I ask for and I hope Rockstar can deliver. Dismembering limbs might be a bit much for GTAV, especially considering the amount of attention this game will be getting just because of its established series history. Being able to set people on fire with the gas container should be plenty enough controversial.

And if there is, it's definitely not because of dismemberment. It would literally take a game that's deliberately trying to be controversial, and even then it doesn't really matter. The game will just end up getting more sales.

Terrorizing a city in a tank, and using someones head as a soup bowl (wtf?) and graphical mutilations are completely different things. Rampaging around in a tank falls into the crime category. Using someones head as a bowl is completely different and doesn't suit GTA. GTA 4 had it spot on imo. Only it didn't have enough weapons.
Tsuroki
Violence has a place in GTA, but it shouldn't be the main focus. I think Ballad hit the perfect tone for a GTA game. It was funny and violent and entertaining, but above everything else, it was satire. Luis was the straight man to ridiculous characters like Tony, Yusuf, and the Kibbutz brothers. Runnin' and gunnin' was just part of the over-the-top experience.

It didn't do that great at the box office compared to other movies and created even more hate towards Tarantino by many former fans of his. He veered off on 'hate/kill whitey movies' path long ago. What's his next movie gonna be? About Native Amerikans coming back, rounding up white people, torture them, then invade Mexico? He isn't too popular in America anymore like he was when say Pulp Fiction was out. He's a tool. He admitted that he wished he was black jewish. So this movie would make him a racist, would it not? A lot of people were offended by Django. I have a personal dislike for him because I've been around him many times and I cannot stand him. He gets on my nerve and most other people at parties. People avoid him, I've seen it. R* can do better than Q.T. easily. Edited March 3, 2013 by AtomicPunk
SlitYourGuts
Meh. Over-the-top gore would just feel out of place in GTA. It's not Gears of War. The series has always gone for more of a Hollywood action movie feel and that's what they should stick to.

I think you're taking the soup bowl a little too seriously. I was only using it as an example for the level of realism in the violence department I wanted to see. I have Postal for things like that. Combine the physics of GTA IV with the fun of the PS2 games, and I will be more than pleased (part of this opinion has to do with the spawn of police, but that conversation is for another thread.) I loved flying down the streets of Los Santos hitting peds at full speed launching them into the sky in SA... but in that game they fall over in scripted fashions like rocks. In IV the Euphorics changed the entire experience. Pushing people down stairs became a role-playing element. Those physics combined with the "freedom" that I felt on the PS2 games would be the ideal for me.
DarrinPA
I don't think that to be a good game needs so high levels of violence, GTA is not just about blood and gore; there are games focused on that. We are not in 97 anymore, back then the violence filled the espace other features couldn't due to the technology. I think an adult game doesn't need just violence. I rather they focus more on other aspects on the game. shut up, gta has always been blood and killing and it's always gonna be like that First of all no, I will not. Secondly GTA IV missions made it feel as if I were painted into a corner, there was only one way to do it - kill kill kill. GTA is better than that, the GTA III's missions allowed for stealth or avoidance when possible. But they also had the crazy "blow everything and everyone up". I want a mix of both. You can't have every mission over the top because it wouldn't make for a good game. Instead of adding more violence I want things like the ability to take hostages or use people as human shields. Defensive skills are more usefull for me.

Shooting the lock off a tiger cage or just sitting back while someone else burns the outpost down leaving you to collect the XP bonus is always satisfying. ONLY overly sensitive people got upset at Django, and it was mainly black people who didn't even see the film. And they're not "hate/kill whitey movies". If anything they're "hate/kill evil asshole movies". Tarantino is an artist/film historian. If people avoid him, it's probably because he's a nerd who is pretty f*cking weird. You can't create the type of films he makes if you're not a little strange. Did he diss you or something? He lives in a different world than you, so he probably just didn't have time to talk to you. And just be honest. If you don't like him, just say that. Everything you just said goes completely against the comment you posted earlier. You just don't like him, but don't be a hater. He's still producing quality films, even though you seem to feel too much discomfort when racist white murderers get killed in them.
Rock Howard
This game is not made for kids. It is specifically designed for adults to be able to enjoy gaming as much as children do. That's what it was all about in '97, that's what it should all be now. There should be absolutely nothing to protect children in these games. They shouldn't be playing it to begin with!! I couldn't agree more.

Exactly, most geniuses are probably pretty weird if met face to face. I would not want to spend the night camping with QT or Stephen King but I will buy their products.
