Stealth Kills

NOTE: I searched first, didn't find a topic on this.

In san andreas you could perform stealth kills, with out alerting others.

This was missing in more recent GTAs, notably IV. Now, what if this returned, but with variety?

Imagine, instead of blandly stabbing some fellow from behind, you perhaps you cover their head with a cooking pot, and stab them with a railroad spike. What i mean is, get creative with it! Combos would also add to this.

Do you think R* will put this in the game?

GTA: San Andreas's stealth system was very basic at best, and it was only ever used for a couple of missions and that was it and there was no real point in using it outside of missions. I would like to have stealthy gameplay incorporated into GTA V but it would have to be more fleshed out than it was in GTA: San Andreas, or else there would be no real point in having it IMO.

For example, being able to use it when not on a mission to avoid police or gang attention, or having a series of side missions where one (or even all) of the protagonists are tasked with assassinating a series of targets without being seen by the enemy targets. Having silenced weapons (or being able to attach silencers to certain weapons) would also work well if stealth mechanics are to be implemented into GTA V.

And I agree with this.

I'd like it to return so long as there's varied assassinations. Something like what they did with Halo. If they're gonna just use 1 animation I don't see the point in using it.

I would like to sneak up from behind someone and snap their neck.

Vice city stories had this, it wouldn't make sense with the new protags though. I mean only Trevor might be able to, as the guy in VCS could only do this as he used to be in the military.

GTA 4 kinda had this with the cops, since they worked with line of sight. There was one time on the Colony Island bridge where I had like a three star wanted level, and I lost them by jumping on the sidewalk-ish area on the bridge, and crouched my way out of the circle.

I want razor wire and the gloves to use it effectively.

There better be stealth kills.

Also sneaking all the time. If the game uses GTA IV's movement system of holding the sprint button to jog and tapping it to run, it could be done so with out pressing the sprint button you walk like IV, but when you push it half way, you sneak.

the crouch button could be implemented as the "stealth mode"

I'd like to have a bunch of different ones, so I don't have to watch the same animation every time I do it. Or vary it up depending on your melee weapon.

I sincerely hope we get Manhunt style Stealth Kills back, or at very least the Max Payne 3 stealth dynamics (sneakers, silencers, camouflage, smoke bombs, etc.) because I fully intend on making full use of them in Multiplayer. ^.^

I hate when people say one game shouldn't have something because another game did it first.

I'd love to perform knife takedowns like in Battlefield 3. devil.gif

RDR had 3 kinds of stealth kill, but the game never explained how to do it you just had to figure it out yourself.

A bigger draw distance of pedestrians and a sniper rifle with a suppressor would be sick 8D

Give us the ability to grab people from behind and use them as cover, like Metal Gear Solid.

The sniper rifle draw distance in IV was terrible, i hope they fix that. Every time you zoom in nobody was there.
