Doesn't matter. Eli is terrible and his defense carried him to his Super Bowl rings. New England shot themselves in the foot in one of those games by dropping a wide open pass.

Terrible? Go look at the plays he made in the playoff games leading up to those Super Bowls, especially the 49er game where he got pounded and kept on ticking.

I would describe Eli as a good QB who has moments of greatness in big games.

Sure he has his moments but he's more consistent with losing and turning the ball over.

Entering his final year of his contract, let's see how well he can perform for the $20m he's getting paid.

David Tyree had a whole lotta luck catchin' that ball. You Tom Brady/Patriots haters need to give credit to that.

You gotta love that the Browns organization stated they had no knowledge of Manziel's "personal problems". I really think whoever has been owning the team needs to sell everything and the fans hope it's someone who will not drive the franchise into the ground consistently year in and out.

And give credit to Welker for dropping that first down catch under 5 minutes left in the other Bowl.

I feel bad for Cleveland fans. They're probably the only team thats more historically pathetic than the Lions.

Put it this way, since 1999 the Browns had like 22 starting quarterbacks and have been pretty bad all of those years. Only 2 number one overall picks(99, 00) and the Colts have been fantastic all of those years with Manning. They lose him for one year and get the number one overall pick and get Luck(y). lol

They need an overhaul, those uniforms are terrible.

For the most part I've always liked their uniforms, they're iconic.

They just need to quit with the all brown look. Just because you play like sh*t doesn't mean you have to look the part.

Sorry, but I doubt I'll be able to take your posts seriously again after this. He may not be the greatest of all time but he's certainly not f*cking "terrible".

Lol sure.

You can keep someone who threw over 20 interceptions 3 times, let alone 27 the year before and 41 the last two. 5 in one game multiple times, and well on his way to breaking favre's record.

I would rank him near the bottom of quarterbacks who won (a) super bowl(s).

Speaking of Manning, Peyton he says he's ready for 2015. :)

I'm not even going to explain how, why, and where a good percentage of his INT's come from (HINT: Not his fault), because I doubt you'd listen.

Does he throw a lot of INT's? Yes. Does that mean he sucks? Of course not.

And you never even touched on the obvious bullsh*t of "Carried by defense!", because I hope you realized how dumb it is.

I'm also willing to bet you think Eli is one of the Giants' problems.

You can Google it, I'm not the only one to rank him low. Two lucky runs, otherwise it's a long season.

If he plays bad and under .500 this season, I bet you the Giants will consider moving on from him. Sure teams will pick him over what's out there but definitely not much of an upgrade.

I view it as a similar situation the Ravens had with Dilfer.

Take it as to want.

I just want more football!

Two lucky runs, otherwise it's a long season.

"Lucky"

Again, you don't know what you're talking about.

2007, you can say his defense was the main reason he won, although it's not like Eli was completely incapable of doing anything. But 2011? Lolno.

Eli Manning carried that team on his back all year, and then had a historic post-season. 6 4th quarter comebacks, a record 15 4th quarter TD's, all while having one of the worst defenses in the NFL and the 32nd ranked run game.

Let's look at Eli's overall stats those 2 "lucky" SB runs.

2007: 72/119 for a 61% competion, 854 yards, 6 TD 1 INT and the best play in SB history.

2011: 106/163 for a 65% completion, 1219 yards (An NFL record at that time), 9 TD 1 INT and the best season of his career if you take in everything and not just stats (Otherwise this past year would be his best).

So, for his 2 "lucky" SB runs, he has 15 TD, 2 INT, 2,073 yards, and historic Super Bowls. Totally lucky, and has absolutely nothing to do with him! /s.

--------------------

Eli is getting an extension this offseason. I'm gonna guess it's gonna be 3 years. The Giants will never cut Eli. They'll only bench him if he's actually a problem, and if he's one of the only ones.

That has never been the case. In his 27 INT season, he was bad, but so was everyone else on the team. He wasn't holding them back. They just collectively sucked.

--------------------

Now, I'm just going to assume that you're unfamiliar with Kevin Gilbride's system. It's vertical. That's all there is to it really. If you throw it deep as much as Eli does, you're going to throw a lot of picks.

But beside that, Gilbride's system called for not only the QB to make a read, but also the WR. Yep, both the QB and the WR had to make a read.

So let's give an example. Eli calls a play. The play calls for the WR to either run a 10 yard Curl, or to run a deep Fade.

The play starts, and the WR reads the defense. He sees the opportunity for the Fade, and does it. Eli, on the other hand, reads the defense, and sees a Curl. So he throws the Curl, expecting the WR to be there (Also a staple of Gilbride's offense). The WR reads the defense wrong, runs the Fade, and the corner picks the ball where no WR is. Miscommunication is the reason for a ton of Eli's interceptions. Now, not every miscommunication is gonna be on the WR. But if you had to decide who read the defense correctly, would you guess the QB, or the WR? I think the answer is obvious.

Killdrive (Gilbride's name to Giants fans because he was f*cking awful, as I just explained to you) then promptly "retired", and Ben McAdoo, a West Coast OC comes in. This means Eli has to relearn everything, even his stance, at 33-34 years old.

And what happens? Eli has one of the best years of his career. With a first year OC. And with his only target being a rookie WR. Cruz was hurt, Reuben Randle was benched multiple times, Preston Parker is a no-name, Larry Donnell fumbles so much, etc. He only had Odell Beckham Jr. And he still had a career year.

Eli has thrived in 2 minute drills and in the no-huddle. Killdrive never took advantage of that. McAdoo does. And now look at Eli. Playing out of his mind. 30 TD, 14 INT (With 5 of those coming in 1 bad, bad game).

What I explained above also happened in his 2010 season, when he threw 25 INT's. At least 9 of those INT's weren't his fault. It was either miscommunication, or the balls bounced out of his WR's hands (Seriously, it happened 3 f*cking times in the Carolina game). Tipped balls are also another good part of Eli's interceptions.

-------------------------

Hope I can help you understand a bit better why us Giants fans are so quick to defend Eli. He is a gunslinger, yes (He likes to trust his WR's to go up and make plays. Unfortunately for him, only a few Giants WR's were capable of doing this). He does take chances. He does, 100%, have more Eli moments than what should be a comfortable amount.

But he's not a bad QB. He's definitely not "terrible". He has that magic. He puts his teams in positions to win constantly. He rarely loses them games.

And don't even get me started on Perry Fewell. f*ck him so much.

EDIT: Wow this is long.

I think it looks better than the current design for their helmet. They could at least wear them for patriotic occasions (Veterans Day weekend, 9/11, ect.).

People are already making a big deal out of Manziel. I've heard stupid things like "the Manziel era is over!" (Didn't know 2 starts was an era) and, even more stupid "he needs a change of scenery.", well hasn't every decent Browns player for the past 15-16 years deserve a "change of scenery".

Masterfocker, at least say Giants got lucky with the Welker drop and Tyree catch. It was literally a gift from some higher being.

right now they're even talking about the St Louis Rams moving back to LA and sharing the stadium 3-ways. we already know that Rams ownership wants to go back to the West coast. they just don't have any deals in place. if LA had 3 football teams I would probably start to hate football....

No way they send the Rams there and do a 3-way stadium.

This is how I think it'll go:

- Rams stay where they are.

- Chargers and Raiders move to LA

- Chargers switch with the Rams to move into the NFC West

If the Rams come to LA the prevailing rumor is that they'll be building a stadium where Hollywood park is. They've already bought land there.

As for the Carson stadium. I don't think I'll be going to any games. Carson borders Compton, I'll leave it at that. It's perfect for the Raiders and Raiders fans, though. I don't get the obsession with trying to build stadiums in sh*tty parts of LA. For the longest time, it was demolishing the Forum and building a new stadium in Inglewood. Then they've been saying the City of Industry, which is about as appealing as it sounds. Now Carson. At least there was DTLA and now Hollywood rumors. I guess the west side's land value is just too much.

Personally, I think LA just really wants a football team. And are throwing all of their eggs in one metaphorical basket. If I had a guess, I'd say the most likely scenario would be the Raiders moving to Carson while San Diego caves for a new stadium for the Chargers, and the Rams stay in St Louis. But I wouldn't be surprised if none of them come to LA.

As a local sports fan, I've heard this all before. The NFL has been threatening to move teams to LA for twenty years, all as a ruse to successfully get new stadiums built in other cities.

If the stadium goes through, one of the teams would have to move conferences.
