I still dont get the hate on Tebow. Just because he is a christian and hes not a thug or something he gets hated on. I for one like the guy and think he's the best role model in the game. He leads Denver to the playoffs then gets traded right after and hasnt seen the field since. dozingoff.gif

It's not Tebow people can't stand, it's all the nut-hugging he gets from media tools and stans. Ok, he's a nice guy who wears his faith on his sleeve - what does that have to do with how he plays the position of NFL quarterback (which is not very good - numbers don't lie).

That role model stuff is silly too. How about parents being role models to their kids, and stop looking to people they have no personal relationship with.

Pro athletes are entertainers and nothing more - no different from actors and rock stars. It's weird society expects athletes to be better than everyone else. We can admire them for their skills, but we don't know what they're like in their private lives, when the cameras are off (even the 'nice' guys).

If I had a son, and he can't look to me as a role model, then I'm not doing my job as a parent.

I agree. I dont hate on Tebow. I just dont understand this fascination with his personal life choices nor do I understand why I, as football fan, have to act like he's a good player because he's a good person. As a person he's awesome, I love the kid but as a player he is subpar and overrated.

Some college football news. The NCAA is investigating Johnny Manziel:

http://espn.go.com/espn/otl/story/_/id/953...ting-autographs

I understand the reason they dont let colleges pay players (stacking teams) but these people need money too. So what he was paid to sign some autographs.

Dude, you know as well as I do what a bunch of hypocrites the NCAA suits are.

Vince Young will try out with Green Bay. Packers also lost LT Bryan Buluga for the season.

Yeah I just saw that on Facebook and it blew my mind. If they can keep his head in the right place he will be an excellent 2nd choice. I dont even like the packers but I really hope they snatch this guy up.

I don't know why Luck keeps coming up third whenever the shows talk about the rookie QB's.

All the rookies did really good their first seasons, but people don't mention that Luck was the only one not to run option plays. They don't talk about how both RG3 and Russell Wilson had the number 1 & 2 rushers last season. They say Luck had a low passer rating, but they don't mention that his team asked him to throw down field more than the others. That as a rookie he threw as much as the vets do. They don't mention that Luck led the league in comebacks, and on the road non the less. They don't mention that the other two QB's had good D. Seattle had a great team, and Washington had really good pieces. The Colts basically dismantled their team and still made the playoffs because of Luck.

I'm not saying that the other QB's don't deserve the praise they get, but in my opinion the top two rookie QB's were Luck and Russell Wilson. RG3 was good, but his team ran the ball way more than they passed, so of coarse he had a good QBR.

It's okay though, in time people will see why Luck was the highest scouted player since John Elway.

The thing with Manziel, is his parents are already pretty loaded with money.

I can't imagine being 18-19 years old and winning the Heisman. You garnish alot of attention and pressure, and it's painfully obvious he can't handle it right now. If he leads his team to a successful season (assuming he plays this year) and another run at the Heisman and people will put this offseason behind him.

So excited for this season. Russell Wilson already made Dwight Freeney look older than George Washington this preseason.

I'm fairly confident Doug Baldwin will step into the role Harvin was supposed to take easily.

So far the Hawks draft class is looking pretty good. Christine Michael is pretty damn fast and is shifty as f*ck but big bodied enough to break tackles and run over people. He'll learn ALOT from Beastmode. I'm also excited to see what Malcom Smith can do as a Sam line backer and what Bruce Irvin can do as a Tweener similar to what Von Miller does.

The Seahawks defense is getting even more complicated. So much interweaving of the 4-3 and 3-4 and every other variation under the sun.

The only concern i have is the Kick and punt return teams. Golden Tate so far is the PR and Blackmon is the KR but last thing seattle needs is an injured Golden Tate. Dude is a baller. Damn near every team had major issues bringing him down in the open field. The Chicago game is prime example. and the dude isnt afraid to put his body on the line when he needs to. The Minnesota game is evidence of that.

People hate him for the Fail Mary but the kid can definatly play and in my humbly biased opinion, he could be a top 10 WR in a couple years.

6 Questions for the NY Giants:

1) Can they rediscover their once-formidable pass rush?

2) Which one of the young linebackers will step up?

3) Will Hakeem Nicks stay healthy?

4) What can Big Blue expect from the two running-backs?

5) Can the two backs pick up the blitz as well as Bradshaw?

6) Will the offensive line be a dominant force?

Better hope Vic Cruz isn't hurt that bad, Eli can make a average WR look good but Nicks injury history and now this with Cruz it'd be hard to find someone... Please don't say Martellus (whatever his name is) Bennett.

Both Cruz and Rolle said they'll be ready by opening day. Bennett's with Chicago.

Sucks about Dustin Keller being done for the year after being hit low by DJ Swearinger. Tore his ACL, MCL, PCL and dislocated his knee....damn. Swearinger said "with the rules in this era, you got to hit low".

Jet's Fan here.

And boy I have no idea what this season may bring.

Last season was terrible. Just makes you want to grab everyone and slap

them silly.

I still want to support Sanchez so bad. He had an amazing first 2 years in NY then sh*t hit the

fan.

But I don't know if it's too late. Prove me wrong Sanchez...

Tebow's hated because he would win games despite not putting on a great passing performance.

Most people don't hate Tebow, they hate hearing about him and the whole love affair about how he's such a great person and he loves God and somehow that makes up for his sh*tty performances.

Tony Montana hit the nail on the head with the Tebow stuff.

In other NFL news though the Bills are willing to go with Jeff Tuel as their starting QB week 1 if EJ Manuel cant go. And if that happens Tuel would be the first undrafted rookie QB to start Week 1 of his rookie season since as early as 1950.

And if you all are wondering who the f*ck Tuel is, well he's the former Washington State QB that barely was the starting QB for the Cougars in college... Yep. Either he shines like he has in the preseason and beats the Pats and surprises everyone or he flops and the Bills get their sh*t pushed in real good Week 1.

This season looks predictable already. Wouldn't be surprised if the Niners go back to the Super Bowl, I can't think of any NFC team that would really beat them.

Atlanta could. They were knocking on the doorstep last season.

Atlanta is a joke. Look at all those games they nearly lost on the count of that defense. If it wasn't for Carroll trying to ice the kicker, they would have been one and done yet again.

My picks for a possible Super Bowl appearance this year.

(NFC)

The Seahawks

The Falcons

(AFC)

The Broncos

The Texans

I don't see the 49ers making it back this year, as I don't see them winning the battle against Seattle.

The Pats and Packers have too many problems this season. I'm sure they'll compete, but I don't see them making it to the big game.

The Saints are the team that could really show up and show out. They're hungry, and they got their coach back.

The Colts and Redskins will make the playoffs again, but I don't think either team has done enough to reach a Super Bowl.

Possible playoff teams:

(NFC)

Seahawks

Falcons

49ers

Redskins (If RGIII stays healthy, if not the Giants)

Saints

Packers

(AFC)

Broncos

Patriots

Texans

Colts

Chiefs

Bengals

Their defense got completely annihilated tonight!

7 TD passes is pretty absurd in general, let alone against one of the past decade's premier defenses...

I don't know what went down in the locker room at half time, but the Broncos came out like madmen in the 3rd quarter. Fantasy-wise I have Denver's defense on my squad, so a pretty good start to the season. It's a real shame Trevathan had to be a noob and botch that pick-6, though.

Yes, my man Peyton has been on fire all night. Its great to see the Broncos off to such an excellent start. They look superb. Too bad that moron dropped what would have been a pick six. It feels so great to be watching my favorite sport again.

My Colts play the Raiders Sunday. Should be a rather easy win so long as our defense doesn't screw up. Last year in that Jets game we made Shonn Greene look like Barry Sanders.
