And to make matters worse, Hernandez has been charged with murder. Good f*cking grief man. What a way to f*ck your career, granted that he's guilty of course. It really doesn't look good for Hernandez.

And also he's been released by the Pats, shortly after he was arrested.

It boggles the mind - he actually thought he could get away with this???? Dude must have snapped.

Beats the f*ck out of me man. I was listening to ESPN NY Radio on the way to work this morning, and I was listening to it all day at work, and I never knew that Hernandez had the background that he had; the supposed gang affiliations, accused of shooting someone in the fact, and his own mother said he was difficult to raise and fell into the wrong crowd after his dad passed away.

This pic is about 4 years old, but it does provide some insight as to the type of person Hernandez is:

I can never understand why these millionaire athletes f*ck up they way they do at times. I am not sure if the fame and money make them feel invincible or what, but damn.

once a punk, always a punk.

this is why professional athletes should not be held up as role models to begin with.

for every Tebow there's at least 5 OJ's.

I always find it silly for parents to hold up complete strangers as role models. You don't know what they're like in their personal lives, even a dude like Tebow. Parents are the ones setting values, putting food on the table, clothes on the back and providing shelter. They should be the role models for their kids.

I wish it were just parents...

all of mainstream society does this.

parents don't really have a choice.

it's society that allows athletes to make millions of dollars for playing a children's game and then plastering their faces all over billboards for shoes, clothes, food, toys, games, and every other item you can stamp a logo on. and it's society that assumes everyone is interested in athletes personal lives with reality television and PEOPLE magazine selling embarrassing paparazzi photos for hundreds of thousands of dollars.

society is sick.

parents are just trying to navigate it.

I am so excited for next season.

JJ Watt will push for another great season. Andre will finally have some help from DeAndre who seems to be doing rather well at picking the offense up. He might actually have a decent year for a rookie WR.

What really needs to happen is that right side of the O-Line needs to get fixed. Though it looks like it might not with tackles Derek Newton and the rookie Brennan Williams both injured throughout OTA's. Hopefully they can get good quick in TC.

It's looking like it will be another good season but I really hope the Texans made the right moves to get even further. This team is nearly good enough to win a superbowl.

I am so excited for JJ Watt next season. I don't see any reason why he doesn't push for DPOY again though having a better season than last year will be hard. That season was special for him and probably one of the best seasons a Defensive lineman can have.

You have very onesided opinions. Both the Bengals and The Patriots are good teams. Its very clear the texans can win a superbowl now that theyve added a WR..

Dont judge off last season.

You lose one of your best defensive players, and an emerging top linebacker, and then the back up to him and be left with Barret Ruud and Tim Dobbins as your linebackers and try and do well. Brian Cushing is the heart of the defense.

Which leads me to what that person asked earlier. The Texans have not completely addressed the ILB position enough. They are relying on Cushing coming back and Sharpton who has not played much due to injuries. It's a scary situation at a rather important position.

I think the backfield of the Texans defense could be amazing. At time Kareem Jackson outplayed Johnathon Joseph, and even took on Calvin Johnson for a while after Alan Ball could clearly not handle it and he actually did a pretty good job. I think it could be a pretty good CB duo.

Basically, I still think the Texans are stacked on defense, still stacked on offense, and hopefully getting better at special teams.

Basically, I still think the Texans are stacked on defense, still stacked on offense, and hopefully getting better at special teams.

So you think they solved the matchup problems they had against New England?

It's iffy.

Like, relying on Cushing being healthy and rookie linebackers making the transition from DE.

It's all rather....iffy.

I can explain it better. It just relies on if Wade Phillips is correct in his judgement that he can teach rookies to play new positions well enough for a should be healthy (I am pretty sure he has had more time to recover than AD.) Brian Cushing to clean up their basic assignments and the aftermath of JJ Watt's wake.

That's why Brooks Reed did not get much sacks. He was two gapping on JJ Watt's side to cover for him as he pulled lots of inside swim moves. We just need Cushing for his better coverage and blitzing ability.

I think they have "solved" it in the sense it is a big risk they are taking to solve it.

El Oso Blanco

Matt Ryan signed to a 5 year extension. I love it. I've always been a Falcons fan, but my enthusiasm really took off when he entered the league. You can say all you want about playoff performances, but Ryan is a guy who gets better and better every year, and he is coming off of the best passing season in our franchise history. Makes good decisions for the most part, but that's not to say I haven't seen him make mistakes... If the rookie corners and DE's we drafted can perform well, this team can finally make it with Jackson catching out of the backfield and getting past defenders. I just hope the O-line doesn't suffer too much.

NFL's going the NHL route with the Pro Bowl by having captains draft players for the game. Doubt it changes the compete level.

Anyone ready to make early predictions for who makes the playoffs?

AFC North- Bengals

AFC East- Patriots

AFC South- Texans

AFC West- Broncos

Wild Cards: Colts, Dolphins ( Hopefully Tannehill builds on last season.)

NFC North- Packers

NFC East- Redskins

NFC West- 49ers

NFC South- Falcons

Wild Cards- Seahawks, Bears

Hall of Fame tonight. I don't care it's only exhibition, I just want some football. Tannehill's playing, Romo isn't.

Yes man, seriously. It seems like its been 2 years since the last football season. I am not one to really watch these exhibition and preseason games but I will make an exception.

Anyone else here about Kevin Kolb injuring himself by slipping on a rubber mat?

I Love Anna Kournikova

I still dont get the hate on Tebow. Just because he is a christian and hes not a thug or something he gets hated on. I for one like the guy and think he's the best role model in the game. He leads Denver to the playoffs then gets traded right after and hasnt seen the field since. dozingoff.gif
