Let me clear something now though, I'm not defending him, he deserves to be suspended and released if the team feels that way (they clearly didn't until they saw their first domestic violence outburst) but banned from the NFL? We don't know what was said or done prior to these events, but when a woman approaches a man, who plays in one of the worlds most physical sports, in a elevator (not even approach him, but ran up on him) with her finger in his face and not expect the man to defend himself? Is he suppose to stand there and let his wife do whatever she wants? She didn't deserve to get mollywopped but I won't sit here and say she's a victim when we only seen 45 seconds of the story. I'm a witness of domestic abuse, what I saw was a man slapping my mom around for small sh*t and he clearly had problems... what I saw on that tape was a heated argument and the woman tried to get into the face of a man, a man who plays runningback in the NFL. Just why?

This is a first time offense and you're calling for his head? People make mistakes we all know this, but if he continues beating woman than he has a problem and can go play in the CFL or some sh*t.

Also, tell me what would needed to have been said--prior to the elevator event-- in order for her to get punched in the face. Please, do tell. She could've called him a c*nt, n, c*cksucker. You're forgetting that this is a rare situation, when do we ever see domestic abuse on video? You can say all you want how we only saw 45 seconds, but how do we know there hasn't been more behind closed doors? You forget about that? (EDIT: Apparently he spat on her before they got in the elevator and inside the elevator. Which just makes him more of a pussy and deserves to be called the N word)

 

Maybe your mom and her boyfriend-or whoever- were just in a 'heated argument'? Comparing your mom's situation to this situation, you make it sound like it would be okay for an NFL player to hit a woman. That's f*cking retarded. The only thing I don't agree with is is she married him.

"but if he continues beating woman than he has a problem and can go play in the CFL" That just topped it all off, totally made it seem like it's completely okay in society to punch a woman in her face, let alone repeatedly. Which he wouldn't be able to play in the CFL anyways, since their commish stated he wouldn't be allowed.

 

I like your persistence in defending Romo as a player but this just made you seem like an ignorant(which you already said you hate coming off as one) little prick to be honest. Everything from basically saying, you're coming into a man's world so be careful or you'll get punched in your face if you point your finger at me, to saying if he keeps doing it he can just go play in a lesser league. Figuratively speaking, what if that was your daughter and you saw that? You going to be like, "oh, he plays in a physical sport, it's a man's world. She came at him with her finger in his face. The problem with that is, like all commissioners, they are promoted from within. and i dont think the NFL can do that this time. they would have to go outside, which would take awhile. but they could stat searching. But with that might come a whole new staff

'88 49ers, '07 Giants and '10 Packers were both 10-6. But had the cardinals won the super bowl in 2008, they would've had the worst, 9-7. Which was upsetting because I like Kurt Warner and hate the Steelers and roethlisberger.

Man, I honestly thought Baltimore would just get beaten to death, but they came out strong and looked good. Only thing good goin' for the Steelers is Leveon Bell, who is looking like a stud right now considering the circumstances. It's a shame that the Sooner, Justin Brown couldn't optimize his opportunities when they mattered the most. That fumble on the opening drive for the steelers didn't help.

But aside from that, GTA3Rockstar and DOOM, that was textbook example of how I like a heated debate to take place in the sports section. Spoilered, direct and with a recourse to PM. Well done lads.

 

@NFL scandals: it's a real catch 22 for legislators and because, as someone else said, people aren't going to boycott games so there is almost no financial impact on the league itself. With money being the 'bottom line' for all owners, a player's dispicable actions can be over looked if he's good enough to help them make money. Still, I think this is an opportunity to enforce a culture change in the league.

I'm all for old school discipline, but AP's sounds excessive.

 

My maternal grandmother down south had one of those long-ass green hickory switches. She would tear your legs UP, and that switch would be cutting wind too. At home, Dad handled most of the discipline. We weren't spanked that often - the threat of getting hit with the belt kept us from doing too much stupid sh*t.
