I miss Al Davis! Reggie Mckenzie is just tearing apart my Raiders right now. I'm still hoping for a good season but now I hear they've almost sealed the deal for a trade with the Seahawks for Flynn. Isn't that special? I'd rather let Terrell Pryor start and see what he can do, instead of wasting a draft pick on Flynn.

I wish Al Davis was still alive. the hawks may have been able to get that first round pick for flynn if that was the case tounge.gif

Al Davis (RIP) was an NFL icon - an innovator and a true genius, right up there with Lombardi, Landry, Halas, Walsh and other NFL legends. But some of his decisions in his later years were head-scratching. And his treatment of Marcus Allen was shameful.

Well put. Respect.

Reading about Al Davis and his history was one of the reasons I was inspired to start supporting the Raiders. His philosophy and the way he ran that team can be transferred and adapted to any team sport in any country, and very few sports leaders are that capable of making such a wide imprint upon sports. He'll always have my respect, both as a third-season NFL fan, but as a lifelong sports fan in general.

Agreed, I have been a Raiders fan since I can remember. Once I started learning the history of the team and Al Davis, it made me love the team that much more. He was a football and business genius. The last 10 years were really tough though. I blame half of it on Jamarcus Russell.

On a similar note, the Raiders traded for Flynn who was coincidentally Jamarcus Russell's backup at LSU. I'm hearing the Raiders gave the Seahawks a mid-late pick in 2014 and another conditional pick in 2015. Also, looks like Palmer will be traded to Arizona for a pick as well.

Not a Carson Palmer fan, but I really wanna see what he does now with the Cardinals.

Yes, I feel the same. Its not saying much, but Palmer is a big upgrade from the likes of Kevin Kolb and John Skelton. Larry Fitzgerald is an elite receiver in this league, and we know what he's capable of when he has an capable Quarterback throwing to him (Kurt Warner). Larry deserves better. Sometimes I wish he would have explored his options before signing that big contract with the Cardinals. I know he's loyal to the organization but he deserves better. Carson may do well in Arizona.

What does everyone think about Matt Flynn going to the Raiders? I look forward to him starting a full season, but I would not have minded seeing what Terell Pryor can do.

Nnamdi Asomugha sings a 1 year deal with he 49ers.

Now I'm a Raider fan but I have nothing but respect for Carson. He was one of the bright spots on the team. I wish him the best and hope Fitz has a great year(Fitz is on my fantasy team).

Now I'm not overly excited about the Flynn pickup but he does have unseen potential. He and Terrelle will compete in training camp, I just hope the coaching staff doesn't favour Flynn due to his higher salary. Pryor is working his ass off from what I see. He's brought the receivers together all offseason. He wants to be great and I truly hope he gets a fair shot. It seems as though Reggie Mckenzie is ridding the team of all the Al Davis type players. Pyor was Davis' last pick and I'd like to see him be great.

As for Nnamdi, I hope he has another terrible season. He has never been on a playoff team his entire career. The guy is jinxed and I hope he drags the niners down with him.

I hope so too.

I cant see him doing well in the NFC West.

Cant f*cking wait til the season starts up. Bought an Earl Thomas jersey for my younger brother for his birthday and bought myself a Russell Wilson Jersey.

Fun Fact: The Seahawks have never drafted a QB that has contributed majorly to the franchise.... until Russell Wilson. tounge.gif

I wouldn't count on him having a bad year again. They play a lot of man coverage in SF. That's what he excelled in at Oakland.

  • 2 weeks later...

Seahawks sign former Viking CB Antoine Winfield.

i like the signing considering its 1 year 3 million. So very little downside with high upside. He'll play the Nickle CB role which is where Marcus Trufant was this last year but Trufant was mediocre at best and it pains me to say that about a hometown guy who has never played for a team outside of the state of Washington.

It'd be funny if the Hawks some how draft Desmond Trufant from UW just to keep the Trufant/Washington thing going tounge.gif but with how highly graded he is i doubt he makes it out of the first round.

Darrelle Revis to the Bucs for a first rounder (number 13 pick) and a conditional next year.

He also signed a 6 year 96million dollar contract. No guranteed money. The Bucs choose either to pay him for the year or cut him.

Very interesting

We'll see if he can perform after his surgery. Tampa seems like a good fit for him

Anyone see the 2013 NFL schedules? My Giants play the hated Cowboys in Week 1. This season NFC East plays AFC West, so we'll have the Manning Bowl.

Eh, not as a big of a deal as Peyton returning to Indy in week 7.

I'll be at that game too. I can't wait to see Peyton try to stick it to us, and how Luck will respond.

On another note, if Darrelle Revis returns to form, and Josh Freeman steps up, then the NFC South is going to be top division in the league followed by the NFC West.

So much hype will be built for that game, it'll probably get annoying.. but even as a Dallas fan I can't help but to countdown to that game.

Bucs will be the team to watch for. On paper they look really good but so did horid Eagles team two years ago. Will be interesting if Revis can return for the start of the season.

I swear, once I heard Peyton was signed to Denver, I wanted to see Denver vs Indy, in the Lucas Oil stadium. I am a die hard Colts fan and I look forward to this game a great deal. It will be a win win situation for me. It will be great to see Peyton win in Indy again, and it would be even better to see my team win at home against our former QB. I cannot wait to hear the ovation that Peyton will get when he walks out of that tunnel.

I don't know WTF Revis was thinking, signing for no guaranteed loot. Dude's taking a big risk.

Considering he is coming back from a major injury and is well known for holding out, it's a smart move for the bucs and Revis gets a lot of money if he plays out the contract.

To be honest, I haven't really been paying attention to this draft, if I have at all. I know about Geno Smith, Matt Barkely, Mantei Te'o, Tavon Austin and EJ Manual. As a Colts fan, I think we just need some guys on defense and some guys to enhance our O-line. Andrew Luck is already a great QB and would be better once he minimizes the INTs. I think our running back, Vick Ballard will have a good season.

Jets need to get Barkevious Mingo.

That's what Gary Myers said in his mock draft. He also has the Giants picking Alec Ogletree from Georgia. He's the speedy LB we need, not Te'o.

Mingo will the pass rusher Rex Ryan is going to love.

Most people have us taking Tavon Austin. Id rather trade down get some picks and grab someone like Eddy Lacy

Looks like the #3 spot is generating a lot of buzz. Hope we move down and still pick up Lotulelei. I'm worried Philly might snag him though.

Youve always got Sharrif Floyd. Hes pretty good

To be honest, I'm not a fan of Sharrif Floyd at all. I'm pretty sure he'll end up being a bust. I've watched some of his tape and he makes a great play but then disappears the rest of the game. I'm liking Dion Jordan, Star Lotulelei and Mingo a lot more.
