AuSsIeThUnDeR36
I have heard a fair amount of people saying they will wait for the Ps4 to come out November 2013, if that's the console's release date, to buy a package Ps4 deal that has V included. Here's some details you should consider - Rockstar Games have said they are making it for Ps3 and Xbox only. There's no mention anywhere of the game being made in Ps4 format. Rockstar Games themselves do not know what the console is like, how it performs, what graphical increase is like on it. They will need time to study the cpu and understand how best to utilise it's power to make a Ps4 version of GTA 5 that has even more enhanced graphics, powerful sound and mindblowing physics. The Ps3 version might not even work on Ps4, it's not just a simple matter of hoping that it works. Which brings me to my next point. Because this takes time to do, don't expect a Ps4 version in November. It could possibly take Rockstar an entire year, upgrading the data files so it will operate as it should andl look amazing on the next gen. Otherwise, what would be the point of buying a Ps4 if the graphics are that of the Ps3 capability? So you have two options, buy the game in September and enjoy it on your console that will be pushed to it's limits, or wait until November 2014 when it's finally updated and made to Ps4 specifications. I know what I'm choosing.

GTAV is coming to Xbox 360 and PS3 on September 17, 2013 Rockstar probably does know what the console is like, because I'm guessing they already have dev kits. That's just my opinion though, because I'm not sure. I agree it's pointless to wait. We don't know if it will be developed on next gen, and if they are planning on releasing a PS4 version, we don't know how long it will take. You honestly think developers have only just heard about the ps4 at that conference? Sony go to developers months/years before they spring a surprise conference up to see what the devs want in a machine.... there is no way Rockstar or taketwo or whatever, don't know what the ps4 can and can't do. I would be very surprised if GTA V wasn't in a next gen console bundle before Christmas.

I know what I'm choosing. * R* is working on a GTA V PS4/720 version. * They have almost a full year to do so upon release of the PS4/720. * There are plenty of R* workers who can make this happen, while the others work on current gen GTA V. * The PS4 and 720 need a good launch game to boosts sales. GTA V is a perfect fit.

IsThisOneGood
You really think Rockstar, one of the biggest devs in the world, don't have a devkit for PS4? Rockstar would've tinkered with the PS4 for months even before the announcement.

Durden
Rockstar Games themselves do not know what the console is like, how it performs, what graphical increase is like on it. They will need time to study the cpu Wrong, as game developers get the dev kits numerous months in advance. R* have probaly had the dev kit since the first half of 2012. In fact, I think their first next-gen game is going to be a new Red-dead (Even if GTAV gets made for next gen it shouldn't count as the "first game" since it was also released for current gen). Anyways, I have a huge decision to make about the PS4. I can buy it this christmas with the huge price, few games, possible defects, and low memory capacity which means I will have to replace my HDD (a complex, time-consuming process which I do not wish to do anymore in my lifetime). Or, I can wait another year to get the PS4 during Christmas 2014. If I do this, it'll be a little cheaper, way more games, fixed models that are durable, and (most importantly) models with greater memory capacity. If I'm honest, Watch_Dogs is the main reason I'm considering buying a PS4 this year. However I'm still undecided. However if GTAV somehow comes to next gen, I will buy the PS4 on that day rather than waiting until Christmas 2014.

Fail_At_GTA
I doubt we will see GTA 5 on next gen any time soon. Rockstar is probably developing Agent for the PS4, finally. Until they finish with that and most likely the next Midnight Club, then they will start on GTA 5.

Heck bro, I'm a PS fan and I wasn't impressed either. Playstation 4 will probably be amazing, no doubt, but they could have made a better presentation. Hopefully during the coming months we will know the full specifications and see some HD gameplay videos.

INEEDVNOW
Game developers have been working on ps4 games for months now... who's to say Rockstar haven't? Because all of the devs that showed their PS4 titles are PS4 exclusives or devs working for Sony. Other devs (like R*) are just starting developing for the PS4. Lelouch The Zero
If the PS4 comes out in November, which is my Birthday btw, I will most certain buy the PS4. However, I will not wait for GTA V to come out for it, I will buy the 360 and PS3 version of the game because if I wait, like you said it will be a long wait and there is no guarantee it will be coming out for it in the first place. Matty
Those of you who are saying that GTA V will be released on PlayStation 4 do realize that, aside from Bully, no other game has been ported from one generation of consoles to the next, right? To say that GTA V will be released on the next generation of consoles is like taking a wild stab in the dark in the hope that you will miraculously hit your target. And considering, that as people have said, that Rockstar are probably going to be working on other titles following GTA V's release which will probably occupy another two to three years. It would make more sense for Rockstar to begin work an entirely new GTA for the next generation a few years down the track rather then porting an existing game to the next generation. Furthermore, the difference between Bully and GTA is that Bully is just one game, GTA encompasses an entire series spanning soon to be 15 individual games. I also think, and this is just a wild stab in the dark as well, that Rockstar want GTA V to be the current generation's definitive title. They want it to push the current generation consoles to their absolute limits in terms of scale of the game world, the level of detail and overall polish and gameplay. 256 MB of RAM may not be much to work with, but Rockstar definitely know what they are doing when it comes to squeezing all that they can into every last kilobyte.
