I think something in Multiplayer could be done quite well.

In GTA (I think) and RDR, there is a Taunt button which makes the character say something, but they could make this controllable by the user, for example (on PS3):

Circle button = taunt

Circle + down button = negative comment

Circle + up button = positive/peaceful comment

So to show another character in multiplayer that you are not going to attack them, you could give them a positive comment, etc or if you would like to warn them to leave you alone, you give a negative comment

I loved honking for people to get in my car, drive them around for a bit then drive them off a cliff.

Then in the game, I get people in my helicopter and fly them out to sea.

I've had that happen so many times, it's really annoying.

I agree with an earlier post that talked of a "white flag mode"when in MP. When the player chooses to activate it, his blip turns white or flashes white. He can't be damaged, nor can he damage others. There should be a choice for the host that determines whether or not it is an option.

Instead of friendly fire "on" or "off" there should be a single free mode and the player has the option to attack others, however that would mean he can also be attacked.

since there's a "flip-off" hand gesture what about a "rock-on" type of hand gesture also, perhaps throwing up "devil horns?"

i.e. a "positive" and a "negative" hand-sign.

I've been thinkin a button to flip people off is awesome. But think about it, wouldn't a white flag button be cool too. Think about it you can get into a gun fight and show a white flag then BAM put one right in there face. Or in MP, when you wanna show other players you are non hostile and wanna play nice....til their back is turned. JK bout that last part but I hated how I didn't know who to trust in FM

oh i got you you speak english yes? im HalfBloodKing93

What about if you don't have a weapon drawn, you will not have any visible radar blimp. You would appear as computer AI and could fade away into the background... or sneak attack.

They all should have diffrent gestures for example franklin should be able to walk up to his fellow gang members and throw up there gang sign and the npcs should react or he should be able to throw it up to rival gangs and they throw up theres and it starts a fight

i liked the red dead thing when you could shoot the gun out of a enemies hand and take the weapon and then they would just run away, that was a cool feature.

To be honest, it wouldn't surprise me if in multiplayer you could access a wheel of gestures to help communicate things across to other players or just add immersion. In single player, however, I doubt it. But it wouldn't hurt to be able to do them to see how pedestrians react.
