I've been thinkin a button to flip people off is awesome. But think about it, wouldn't a white flag button be cool too. Think about it you can get into a gun fight and show a white flag then BAM put one right in there face. Or in MP, when you wanna show other players you are non hostile and wanna play nice....til their back is turned. JK bout that last part but I hated how I didn't know who to trust in FM

I don't think that would be a good idea. When was the last time you've heard that happening in a gun fight? Do you think criminals and cops are going to just say 'well gee I guess I trust you now even though you just came in here and killed 10 of my people durrr'?

Well it was just a thought and a extra feature. No I never herd of that but it still would be better then just "hey" or some other phrase that just repeats itself. I mean wouldn't it be cool to go up to a group of people with your hands up in the air and then just poppin heads off?

So...you could wave the flag, but could still attack immediately afterwards? What's the point? Just pure deception? Haha it sounds like you're the guy who can't be trusted in multiplayer..

Even if a white flag option meant you automatically gave up to the cops, I still wouldn't like it for a pure carnage style GTA series (though in other series it could be interesting, like in RDR how you could throw up your hands and surrender when fighting with Sheriffs/Bounythunters). But especially the way you proposed it; as an option that really means nothing because you can still attack just makes it extra useless.

Not a flag, you just put your hands in the air, like niko did at first, but I guess it would bebe predominantly used more in multiplayer

well in GTA IV nicko pulled his finger in front of the cops randomly lol

so it'll be fun to see them say F u in front of the cops biggrin.gif

Haha, wasn't trying to be a prick or anything, was just being brutally honest. Not a fan of that idea.

Like I said, I think it could work in other series, just not in GTA.

As for multiplayer, I always thought that a way to indicate you want to be friendly is a good idea - like changing the color of your blip on the map to white or whatever.

Of course, this will just end up being abused by trolls. But I certainly see the need for something like this.

In single player, instead of a white flag, how about putting up your hands? Say when cops are after you and you want them to stop shooting at you. Like a way to surrender.

It'd be cool if they did like Red Dead, and you put your hands up as law enforcement officers move in to arrest you. You could kind of do this in GTA IV, but if you had anymore than 2 stars it wasn't possible.

Simple. Killing other white flagged people while you're white flagged will get you kicked from the game, and they won't have taken any damage.

I loved honking for people to get in my car, drive them around for a bit then drive them off a cliff.

Then in the game, I get people in my helicopter and fly them out to sea.

Interesting idea. A simpler version could be that it disables friendly fire for that player. Meaning, his weapon fire doesn't do any damage while he has activated this mode.

I thought the term "White Flag" was to put your hands up to show no harm, I think this is what the OP meant by showing white flag.. I agree with this. Good idea OP. icon14.gif

You could do that in the game resovoir dogs, or however you spell it. Pretty fun to do, so id like that

I'm the one who think it would be cool. Only if you killed someone then the white flag would do nothing, police and gangs would try to arrest or shoot you

I don't think you could get out of trouble with police or gangs, with this feature but you could respond to pedestrian comments positively or negatively in gta San Andreas, so in addition to flipping people off I don't see why there can't be a "hey there" button as well.

As someone else said on here, the "White flag" in multiplayer is your car horn.

Oh.. I found horny people irritating in GTA IV MP. So I was always shooting at them. Oops.. They just wanted to be friends.. yawn.gif

Anyways OP, Its a decent idea. Kinda like Niko automatically putting his hands up - You have the option to break out of it at the cost of a higher wanted level.

Your idea needs a bit of refinement thought, No?

So, you're allowed to surrender but doing so, will remove control from you for X amount of time. I.e. For Police to arrest you or MP people to walk away to hang out with it.

Now, If you decide to break this surrender, the other player gets a heads up, maybe 2 seconds to react to this change in your mood?

SO for 2 seconds, you can't hurt them but they can blow you off.
