Will u buy GTA V in current gen if next gen comes?

So the PS4 is coming this holiday!There is some serious raw power coming in with the PS4.Few games shown at the PS4 event were awesome,even better looking then GTA V up till now.And most of us are going to start saving money to buy either the PS4 or the next Xbox!

Would it not be even better to have GTA V available for next gen consoles with certain improvements and the fact that they will not have to remove certain stuffs and lower the game quality to make it possible to be played on the aging Xbox 360 and PS3?

I'd buy it for current gen, even if they were released at the same time. Because I'm not spending £300-£400 just so I can play a slightly better looking version a bit sooner.

I did not mean to buy a next gen console just for GTA V....but i meant for all future titles in which you would play games on!

In that case. There is no way I could wait any longer than I absolutely have to, to play this game. That would be like a self imposed delay.

Its like 99% confirmed that its going to be PS4!Read a few tweets made by sony CEO!He even made a tweet on the leaked prototype controller saying "i cannot confirm if thats for the PS4 but I can say whatever that is its very good looking and you should buy it when its released!.

next gen wont have anything special... maybe a 3D generator... and will obviously have high res... not worth buying so early. specially for GTA V... i rather wait til mark 2 comes out, bug and fault free.

Same here. I want to play GTA V as soon as I can after years of waiting, even if it means buying it for current gen, then re-buying it a couple months later for next gen, assuming Rockstar even decides to bring the game to next gen consoles.

It took me until christmas 2011 to get a ps3 so no I probably won't and by then I'd expect another gta to be out.

Ps4 will definitely be shown because sony uploaded videos on evolution of playstation 1,2,3

I only care about a possible PC version so I think I would welcome next gen versions. That way a PC port could take advantage of the extra things Rockstar develops for the next gen consoles.

I don't think GTA V will be built on next gen too. Maybe ported. But the PS4 will be able to stream PS3 games. So GTA V will be streamed.

First of all, a next gen version of GTA V doesn't even exist as far as we know, and if that's ever gonna happen, I'd bet money that it won't be anytime close to the next gen release / GTA V release. The only possibility of that happening is if they announce it between now and Sep 17th with a later than Sep 17th release. Even then, I doubt they would make it for PS3, X360, PS4 and X720. I'm pretty sure even double-gen games have never been double-gen for the two consoles simultaneously, but that's due to X360 and PS3 coming out with more than a year of difference, and we don't have release dates for neither of the next gen consoles, so we can make no predictions.

 

To answer your question, I will only buy it for my PS3, because even if a PS4 version is announced, I won't buy the PS4 until at least a year after its release due to me not being rich. Later when I get a PS4, I of course would buy it again if a version developed for it exists.

This is basically how I feel. This is why this poll is pointless IMO.

 

Even if GTA V does eventually release for next gen consoles, I don't think it would be this year. That wouldn't really benefit R* anyways, unless it releases at the very end. Now if it came out for next gen in 2014 or later, I assume most GTA fans would end up buying two copies.

 

It's the same way I was with certain DVDs. If it was something I really liked, I bought it again on BD. I would do the same with GTA V, because I'm sure it will be my favorite game this generation.
