Prometheus
You haven't answered whether you have any mods installed or not. Mods always tend to cause such issues. Make sure to install .NET Framework 3.5 and this GFWL Update.
gtaplayers
No, I don't have any mods.
Miro
Where do you have the game from? Are you playing with the original DVD in your Drive? Here are some solutions you could try (try each one in the order I posted them): 1) Try to delete your game settings.2) Install the Games for Windows Live Update & the .NET Framework 3.5. 3) Try disabling VSync. To do that, make a new Text Document in the GTA IV directory (the folder with the .exe file), rename it "commandline.txt" (without the quotes), and copy paste in there the following: -novblank Save it and start the game. 4) Try to completely un-install and re-install the game. gtaplayers
I am playing with the original game. And I will see if that works.

Miro
Have you tried each option and none did anything? Do you happen to use a crack to run the game? Even if you bought the game, some people happen to prefer cracked launchers. Or do you have the Steam version? Dead (Retired)
gtaplayers
I have the retail version from the store. I tried all options you said and nothing
Miro
Uhh, okay. Try then to install xliveless - place the xlive.dll file in your main GTA IV directory. Before that, try running the game as administrator and in various compatibility modes, maybe it'll work. Hmm, I'm not sure, but maybe installing the GTA IV Patch 1.0.4.0 could help? GTA4Jericho
Hello Guys, have the same problems not getting GTA IV to run. 1st is that the Launcher says I'm not logged into SocialClub, also I've logged into it - in Firefox and have entered the mail and password into the window. 2nd It crashes with the information Critical Runtime Error It's the original complete Edition and i like to play GTA 4 standard - offline would be enough for the first time. My System Core i5 8GB RAM Nvidia 525M Notebook Win7 Pro 64bit SP1 Nvidia Driver 310.90 .NET Framework 4 with Patches Games for Windows Live 3.550 Windows Live ID-Login-Assistent 6.5 x64 GTA IV 1.07 Patch witout any Mods I've tried different things like reinstallation, launcher link with commandline windowd resolution 1024x800 (768?) as admin and things like that always the same result Does anybody had the same issues and solved it ? Prometheus
Hmm...you could install XLiveless, just keep in mind that it disables online play. Also make sure to have .NET Framework 3.5 installed, and not only 4.0.

Prometheus
When it's loading, press Alt+Tab, then go back to the game - but you may need to wait up to 20 minutes for the game to load sometimes.
