Beliy360
link Something about Grand Theft Auto's over the top brand of complete depravity seems incomplete somehow without drug dealing. A solid feature of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, the handheld title that first debuted on DS and later was ported to PSP and iOS, drug dealing was a compelling reason to make the return to the series' top-down view roots, providing a steady source of income and a lesson in criminal economics. Fifty drug dealers could be found across the city, each sending regular messages to let the player know when they were buying or selling at a good rate. Neighborhood gangs only sold specific drugs, forcing you to make the decision if hustling across several parts of town was worth the extra $50,000 in personal profit. If Rockstar combined this with the turf wars from San Andreas, it'd be like a whole additional game in and of itself. I think it'd be among the best moves they could make. Captain VXR
I'd love to be able to buy coke, amphetamine and weed from the Mexican cartels, have outdoor cannabis plantations in forests, convert warehouses into indoor cannabis farms, have moonshine stills and meth labs, import bootleg cigs and booze as well as ecstasy and exotic weed (Jamaican, Colombian and Thai buds, Moroccan and Afghan hash) through airports, own bars nightclubs, liquor stores and cannabis dispensaries as front businesses for the illegal side of my drugs empire. Basically I want to control the entire drugs trade in San Andreas as Franklin, supplying to all the various gangs and criminals, including Trevor Phillips Enterprise, and make millions. simonp92
I'm so glad R* thinks out of the box. Why do you wan't the old concepts reused? I wan't a new game, not a compilation of the old ones.
richard1997jones
I found drug dealing the best part of china town wars but mainly due to all it's features such as opening the bag with the DS pen. Remember we are playing already made charecters probably millionaires prehaps this calls for big dealing worth millions and not a bit in a bag. Maybe side missions may work better on this. I think even a drug dealing business would work well where you have huge shipments brought in, it would make it tense and more worth while. This however really would need alot of work and anything less would be pointless. If they do go big then we need nice expensive toys.

If you've ever played china town wars it was a fun way to make money and it should come with risk like gangs potentially bothering you if you get into their turf or them trying to rob you. police also should raid drug deals(some you may be at). Quackerz Gamerz
I liked the drug dealing aspect of CTW, and I hope it returns in an updated fashion. Also, why just buying and selling drugs? Why not steal them off dealers/rival gangs? This could be similar to the Drug Wars side missions in TBoGT.
BlackNoise
I rather rob drug dealers. GTA V is about the heists. Why would you sell drugs when you have the ability to rob banks and other businesses?
Captain VXR
Diversification. Read up on it. You've still gotta sell the drugs you nick, so you kinda defeated your own point, unless you'd bother stealing a ten bag from a street shotter (assuming you can use drugs other than alcohol in-game). Who wouldn't want to fight their way out of deals gone wrong, have a tense drive/flight with a vehicle full of drugs, earn millions after the storyline has finished and so on? omer19992010
If drug dealing is back It's probably going to be exclusive to Trevor and gang wars will be exclusive to Franklin.Since Trevor is a drug addict he's probably going to be selling and buying drugs. Personally, I'd love it if Trevor and/or Franklin were dealers and the game mechanic was as reputedly advanced as CW's, i.e., more advanced than Little Jacob's side missions in IV. Cyfa
I've been on record many times saying that drug dealing was my favorite mini game ever and was quite possibly the greatest mini game Rockstar has ever created. With that said I don't think it will be in V. No mention of it in any previews at all.

You know it what was shown in the previews was a demo and they're not going to tell us everything in the game so they're holding back a lot of info until you actually play the game. Yeah, side missions. Not an actual market that you can buy and contribute too like CTW. No doubt we'll have drug related missions, but in the end it will be go from point A to point B to pick up a car and drive it to point C.
smokeysmokeonsmoke
A scarface negotiating system wouldn't be too bad you could buy and order a shipment off a contact say Crack, weed, meth or heroin each costing different amounts with a bigger return, getting a different level of risk/difficulty the more dope you have especially with the stronger stuff. More gangs will attack you for the gear as you make deliveries and the cops will chase you if they spot you. Then you have to wholesale to different dealers of neighbourhoods as much as they will buy or as little with the respect you have earned from the different gangs playing a factor in the best/worst price you get. Also gang set-ups and police raids during your deals could add to the excitement of the side mission sniffer dogs storming the apartment you're dealing in!.. man I really hope they have something like this in the game! K20
If I remember correctly, there was a drug dealing scene from trailer 1. So high chance of drug dealings within the game.

Who wouldn't want to fight their way out of deals gone wrong, have a tense drive/flight with a vehicle full of drugs, earn millions after the storyline has finished and so on? lol...stealing drugs would be worse than just selling them, because like you said, you would still need to sell them. I'm talking about money. Anyways, I don't mind if it's only high level stuff(lbs, kilos), but even then it doesn't seem right for every character. Trevor seems to be in the meth game, but definitely not Michael and Franklin seems like he's against it. GTA-King
What if Trevor and his crew manufactures the crank and then Lamar helps sell it in the hood? It could be something that would later turn Franklin against Trevor, if things go awry between him and Lamar.
