GTAfan786
Get it for PC if thats all you care about. And while some people are waiting in their rooms like spoiled brats for an extra 6 months I will be playing the sh*t out of this game you will be playing sh*t. you will be handling sh*t, you will be aiming sh*t. if that's all you care about.... and while some people are playing the possibly best GTA ever on some mediocre, outdated platform, I'll just wait a month and a half to then play the game as intended... philistines Another PC fanboy using lame arguments. Oh and you will be surprised to find out that PC version will obviously come out 6 months later, not 1 and a half, LOL. So drop dead please. Yes and not only them, also a few lesser known journalists from some magazines and sites. They did speak of some aliasing, but hey...which console game this gen didn't have jaggies? Racecarlock
Frame rate is the one aspect of graphics that really does affect me. I mean, I'd rather have something close to real life than something running in slow-motion, which is exactly what running at a low frame rate looks like. I agree with you, but do you think that IV's framerate on consoles was really THAT bad that it affected your gameplay continuosly? Not in regular free roam, but it must be said that the frame rate took hits way too often during a chain reaction of car explosions or when I run over several art stands and benches at once. Sef
Don't worry man, the game will run at atleast 30+ FPS How do you know that? Rockstar Games has (hopefully) learned from their big mistake in GTA:IV with the framerate. They put the graphics to the max. with an great performance too. Source ? My mind. Andreas
I think that the framerate of the final game will be certainly better than in GTA IV. GTA IV had sometimes some serious framedrops on the consoles, particulary on the older versions, but it was still playable and the fun wasn't negatively affected by it. There is room for improvement and Red Dead Redemption and also Max Payne 3 were an improvement over GTA IV although both games are different than Grand Theft Auto. Rockstar can also try to lock the framerate at 30FPS to avoid that the game renders more than 30 frames per second which would prevent framedrops to a certain extent. But if we speak about the PC version then I'm sure that you don't have to worry. The optimization should be fairly good so unless you have a low-end rig from 2008 or whatever, you should be fine and able to run the game. Choco Taco
The Game Informer quote: Suffice to say, the game seems pretty big in regards to the map size and the amount that is rendered at once, so how well does the game run? The game ran perfectly fine when we saw the demo. No noticeable lag, even when switching between characters. That’s a positive sign this far out for an open-world game, many of which are a mess right up to the final few weeks of development. http://www.gameinformer.com/b/features/arc...PostPageIndex=

I mean..they DID have the very first scoop on GTA with their cover story. It's strange if it's true what Carl CJ says about IGN and other sources, they are saying the exact opposite. I also find it weird how GI calls it lag, it's not lag, it's framedrops drops.

Njale
When i look at GTA IV videos made on consoles it looks like a slideshow to me, can't imagine how can someone play in that kind of an envirement. I guess people just adapt to whatever they have, in the end it all comes to that you can't hate on someone that's ok with something you're not. Remorse
This game will run at 15-20 FPS. Unless Cockstar can pull some magic, this game's framerate will be ridiculously low. How will we able to enjoy the game? Let's be honest, you have no f*cking clue what you're talking about.

S1LV3R_W0LF
I've been a PC Player since 1996, before that I had a Master System a Mega Drive and something that was like a Nintendo, I also had my first console that was something in 4 colors with 5000+ games that in fact where the same game with other levels of difficulty, and in 1996 I got my first computer, the FPS weren't an great and it went lot worst because nto so long after the technology made a insane jump. I had a video card with 1MB, suddenly they invented MMX technology, Direct3D, 3DFX and a lot of other crap... back that I had to get used to play games at very low FPS's, some were almost unplayable but it was still fun. Nowadays is a lot easier then it was, you should have tried the times where you had no such thing as a save point and once your lives ran out you had to start all over again. Anyway, I think Rockstar won't release the game if it's "unplayable" otherwise they wouldn't take so much care with the game, might struggle a bit but won't be anything that will ruin the experience. But looking to the trailers taking into account what they said about not being pre-rendered and from a console, it doesn't look that there are many frame issues. But wait till the actual game is out and if you're scared, try it before buying, I'm sure there will be plenty of consoles everywhere with the game ready to be tested. sparkle90
It would not be lower than 20 fps fully. There would be certain moments of course where the framerate would go down like a biatch but I'm pretty sure the framerate will be the same. omer19992010
It's probably going to be 30fps since rockstar know how to use the rage engine now since they have had tons of expierence with their games such as Red dead redemption,Gta 4 and Max Payne 3. meson1
Rockstar have a good deal more experience with the consoles now and will have revised and refined RAGE and Euphoria to free up a significant number of processing cycles since the days of GTA:IV. This is something they will have had to do anyway since GTA:IV did have some occasional slowdowns even on the consoles. Freeing up that power will have enabled them to add additional features to the AI, graphics and physics. The map size doesn't really have any influence on the amount of power required since the world data is streamed from disc. The amount of processing required to read the data and render it is no different whether the map is 3 sq miles or 30 sq miles. Quite simply they will aim for 30 fps on the consoles with minimal (if any) slowdowns. PC is more of an unknown, but I'd expect them to tackle that issue better this time. I would hope that they will produce something more efficient that is better capable of scaling on multiprocessor hardware than GTA:IV was. Here's hoping. I mean, I'd rather have something close to real life than something running in slow-motion, which is exactly what running at a low frame rate looks like. I couldn't agree more. The frame rate of this game is my biggest fear. I would've loved if IV had run a little smoother at times, but it was more than playable. I'm just extra worried now, because V is so much bigger, etc. If they can match GTA IV's frame rate, I'll be extremely impressed, but I'm not all that hopeful. BUT THE BENZ
I dont like to generalize, but I feel like most of the people who bitch about graphics and framerates have to be 18 or younger. The rest of us grew up on Sega Genesis and N64. This generations gamers dont realize how great they have it. I remember when playing games online with friends was a pipe dream... now god forbid the frame rate drops... you can open your eyes, and use them, or you don't Ok Im going to humor you. What do I need to open my eyes to? Are you saying that I need to realize that GTA V will most likely have an average of less than 20fps? You need to open your eyes, and see the possibilities. Sorry I couldn't answer you until now...I was at work! (something many users here and seemingly MODS aswell, are not familair with, it seems) yes I am very much aware and I can remember like it was yesterday when I thought games can't get better Zelda's Ocarina of Time...but guess what?! the techinal leap prooved me wrong.... NOW, to get back to your 'WE ALL TOO SPOILED:::THINK OF HOW IT WAS BACK THEN'.....that doesn't mean that I have to take outdated sh*t for granted.....considering I pay money, harad-earned money, money I take health risks for and so on, it is not too much to ask for. Just gimme waht you got mr developer, and don't go 75 % when you could aswell go 100! is that better? I guess not.....well, go make the game and stop coming here...
