They are going to reintroduce the starving the fans strategy. Hype died down alot after trailer 2 but it was at its peak right before the GI cover. They are going to try and recreate that so that there is a second explosion a couple of months before release, probably to kick off their full fledged marketing campaign. I like their games, but the fact that they dont give a rats ass about the fans is insane. Isn't that obvious that they will give info later? Enough with the "cool stuff" complaining, I have some news for you GTA V will be much more like GTA IV than their previous iterations. Also, I work closely with marketing people, you are not in their demo. You will buy this game no matter what, and if you don't, you won't hurt their sales. I'm sorry but that's the truth- you're out of the f*cking demo. They want fresh blood, like me, to keep their new HD Universe going. I don't want cool features. I want immersion and mature story telling and social satire, and while it would be great to have some news it's way off target to promote 7 months ahead. Get over yourself and your indignation- all of you. You saw the second trailer, right? You know, the one with planes blowing up choppers, rednecks driving jeeps out of cargo planes, head on train crashes, and even more? Hell, have you seen the screenshots? Like the one with the submarine? Sure, a good story probably will also be there. But I don't think they've changed their demographic. My post was in reply to Mr. AtomicPunk's insistence that R* has lost their edge and have no cool features. Which I can only infer Mr.Punk's desire to have GTA:SA....The HD Version! And I for one, am tired of it. It's the equivalent of people saying, they want Batman '89 again. In other words, you and I are in agreement sir. I don't want San An HD. That such an over-used claim here. I want a good story and all that. But, I also want the fun back like in San An, Vice City. Both can exist in the same world. If I wanna load boxes onto a flatbed truck with a forklift, I should be able to. If I wanna canoe down a river, I should be able to. If I wanna jump my bike off a cliff then parachute onto a road below, I should be able to. You see, IV was two steps back for R*. I like mature story telling, I liked Niko, but I don't like boring repetitive crap that was IV. I want stu8ff to do. I wanna load cars onto a trailer truck and drive around. I wanna have fun wasting time. If they leave out the fun this time, they ruin their reputation. It's simple as that and there are millions of fans who agree with me about IV. We can have the best of both worlds ya know. Just going by what we've seen & been told, this game is already SA, GTA IV & RDR combined. Yes this game will be massive & crammed full of new features, yet R* still won't release more info than if it had been a Spring release. Why are people so eager to be 'marketed' to & why would a couple of extra screenshots make any difference to how long we have to wait. A week after those screenshots, we'd be right back to where we are now. I like deffpony's recent thread, re-evaluating what we already have. So what you're saying is that they don't care about quality, but they care about quality? Another reason is simply this- they're disorganized and can't get work done. How long exactly did you spend at Rockstar evaluating their working practices? Didn't you give them some recommendations on how to improve their workflow in your final report? Anyway, I don't put R* on a pedestal. They've released bad games (L.A. Noire, LCS) as well as good (Vice City, IV). They ARE disorganized and can't get work done. That's definitely a fact since they can't get released any GTA in their own timeframe given first. We do not know their internal developments or organisations, so we can't give them some recommendations, can we? The development team leaders are being pressured to get the game done so they probably give a projected completion date that is ambitious to say the least. But then the developers, despite working 18 hour days, just can't get it done in time. As time goes on they add to the workload and revise ideas making it impossible to meet an already tough deadline. Mis management maybe. But not disorganization.
