Then when you finally feed the dog, it will be very very very happy, even if you only give it a few lousy scraps. You can see this strategy work in the newswire comments. Last summer when they released those first two lousy screenshots, hundreds of fans poured in and started kissing Rockstar's ass. I had a 2 month exodus from this place over the Christmas period, and thought about GTA V like twice. Only started posting here again after hearing about the delay. I know it's been said a thousand times, but if you want time for new info to come quicker, go outside, go to school/college/work, play other games (I recently got the PS2 out for another SA run through), get drunk, get laid etc Coming here everyday looking for something new is just going to make it drag even more. Stay quiet about the game for 18 months? No, not 18 months anyway. 6 months for sure, at least in terms of an organized trailer. IMO a trailer for a game that's out any longer than a calender year is a dick move. In a sense I do feel for R*, trying to produce a GOAT game for us while we bag on them incessantly, and some obviously take it way too far. But in the end, they did this to themselves, so its hard for me to sympathize with them too much. They want to do this kind of mysterious marketing, fine. But this is the result. But a Zee by any other name... Maybe they're waiting for Sony to announce the PS4 so that they can announce the PS4 version of GTAV, out this September? I mean, they can't announce a game for a platform that isn't announced yet - so they're just waiting for Sony to do the announcement this week? It's interesting that the event is in NYC, no? When Sony announced the PS3, it showed video footage of Sam Houser talking about the PS3....i kid, i kid... only tried to rustle the jimmies of a few people here but who knows! Been playing Mafia II, isn't the best, but I've already ran through SA, RDR, LA Noire, Sleeping Dogs, Just Cause 2... so yeah, at least it's better than Saints Row the Turd. They want fans to talk about the art and not for it drown in all the unevitable whining that will steal all the spotlight. Therefore Im also pretty sure that the box art is ready to go, and has been for weeks, as soon as people stop focusing on the delay and forget about those few months extra that we actually should thank Rockstar for. Of course it's only the customs of social media that make this seem unusual. Pre-Twitter, no one would have thought anything about a company making no announcements for 3 weeks. V is going to be their game of 2013. But, this is - if I remember correctly - the first time they are going a full 365 days and more, without a brand new game. Once Sony announces the PS4 today, I expect R* to will announce future AAA titles soon. Knowing it's officially announced, they can now talk next gen. Yes they always leave you wanting more and the games they release are phenomenal but it frustrates the hell out of me waiting on info before release. Two months go by and they finally release one screenshot of a helicopter thats almost exactly the same screen as one we already have lol whatever. In my opinion they make the best games with the highest replay value of any that ever existed. But damn, they are masters of the mind f*ck.
